Best Kebab in CPH so far! Good price, good service! Atmosphere is also really nice, fits well in the neighborhood. Had the durum for 35DKK.

Holy Baklavaci! I'm very happy this place exists to supply me with delicious baklava. There's the…read moreoriginal shop (or what I assume is the original shop) at the corner of the street with the red awning and gold letters. And then there's the larger, less cozy, sit-down section a couple of doors down. They're not physically connected, but it's the same shop and, from what I can tell, sells the same things. Because the red-awninged one is cuter, I prefer to shop there. I think it's self-explanatory: you should buy baklava here. I like the walnut ones better than the pistachio, but it's a pretty close competition. Prices are by weight ranging from 110 - 140 kr/kg depending on which type you chose. Although if you chose a mix then it's 120 kr/kg. On average, expect to pay about 6 kr per piece of baklava.

Love this gem! It's…read morelike heaven walking into this small shop. Actually it's not really a small shop considering how many trays of baklava they have! Even the view from the window is amazing. There are so many turkish specialties! Everyone needs to try baklava at least once in their life. I was really craving baklava and found this place through yelp. My friend and I each had a pistachio baklava and shared a walnut baklava. I liked the walnut because it was really nutty. I also tried the kataifi. It's the square that looks like a bunch of strands. This had a different texture but tasted really good as well! Also I tried the Borek. This was a savory bread. It's made for cheese-lovers like me! It's also made of phyllo dough and filled with a lot of feta cheese! Yeah I walked out of here filled with a lot of sugar and cheese. Best of both worlds! Everyone please try this place! I will definitely be back once a month while i'm here in Copenhagen!

I was really excited to finally have kebabs and I wanted something good, not just some random shop…read morewith meat that has been sitting in the fridge for a really long time. The staff were really nice. I asked for an English menu but they didn't have any but informed me that there is a staff member who is very fluent in English. Luckily my friend knew Danish, so it was no problem. There was quite a variety (doner, platters, sweets, turkish pizza) and prices were pretty standard. I had the lamb kebab while my friend had the chicken shawarma (I think). There was a bit too much fat in the lamb for my liking. It was well seasoned but a little tough to chew. The bulgar was flavorful but dry... I'm a bit disappointed with the food, but somewhat enjoyable. Maybe other options taste better? The restaurant is quite spacious and it looks like there's areas for large groups. They even have outdoor seating for days with nice weather.

Previously, my go-to has been Kebabistan on Istegade, which was closer to my old apartment. Tragically, it's just a little too far away now to justify a quick stop in on the way home, so I was searching for candidates for a replacement. Safir is basically always at least half full of people. On Friday nights, there is a line out the front door. My curiosity finally got the best of me last night and I tried a simple and cheap dish (shawarma salat - 30kr) last night. It was the perfect amount of food, and the meat was very good quality. I would've loved a little more "salat" in the "salat" but I was definitely satisfied at the end of the meal. My dinner dates ordered the half chicken platter, which will get a vicarious thumbs up in this review. I'm also told the ayran is second to none, and a must when eating shawarma, but I went with bottled water. Living life on the edge, always. :) Considering the value and quality for the money you spend, this place is definitely worth a visit.
