a bag of coffee beans
Curtiss C.

I can't say enough about the product and the customer service. This is a five star rating because the service is impeccable along with 100% Kona coffee. I ordered 4 pounds of coffee last week and the delivery to my house was Under 72 hours from the Big Island to the Pacific Northwest. When we received our shipment one of the 16 ounce bags was split open. When my wife pulled it out of the shipping box over a third of the coffee beans fell onto our deck outside and most of it was lost. I had sent an email after realizing what had happened to Cherry Hill. Not really sure if it was going to be taken care of since the delivery was already made. I offered to send the rest of the beans and the damaged bag back in return for a new 16 oz bag. So today after four days and not hearing anything back from my email. I figured my email got lost in their busy ordering system. But today there was a shipment left on my doorstep with a new undamaged, 16 ounce bag of 100% Kona coffee from Cherry Hill. I want to thank you all very much and you are gonna be my go to place for Kona coffee orders. Please keep up the great customer service and the wonderful product that you offer.

Local coffee stop right next to our dinner spot. Grabbed a couple coffee bags for a souvenir for Pops and also ground semisweet & white chocolate coffee beans. The coffee is delicious and 100% Kona coffee, the beans are also yummy but you can't eat more than 2 unless you want your heart racking (make sure you're running errands if you pop more than 2 lol). The young lady that helped my sister and I was super gracious with her time and extremely helpful in answering all our coffee questions. I believe her name was Kamma (her name was longer which translated to Volcanic fire, something super cool) and she wasn't pushy or insistent on making us purchase anything but we felt comfortable and we decided to indulge a bit while we waiting to be seated for dinner. She let us know that they also shop their coffee so if you run out, just give them a ring or visit their website and they'll shop over delicious Kona coffee! They also have complimentary coffee at the entrance of the small store for those who want a sample. Nice place and great location :) Mahalo!

Ive been to multiple coffee shops during vacation but this is the only one I am writing a review on. That should say something.

Great Kona coffee in a wonderful casual atmosphere!…read more I had to meet up/interview a potential Big Island candidate in Kailua-Kona and I was basically looking for a casual place where I could meet, enjoy a drink, and have a little bit of conversation. Kona Coffee & Tea was the place of choice here in Kailua-Kona. Located at the Kona Coast Shopping Center, you can find this little coffee shop just next door from KFC. The coffee shop is easy to find, as other business surrounding this business is the KTA Superstore, Hele Gas Station, HFS Federal Credit Union, O'Reilly Auto Parts, as well as many numerous eateries. It was late in the afternoon, so I basically came here for some drinks. I had to try their Kona Coffee, and I must say it did not disappoint! The coffee shop has indoor, as well as covered outdoor seating. The shop does sell some food items, but I did not partake or looked at what they had to offer. There was also coffee shop merchandise, but I did not have time to take a look at what they had to offer. Overall, as great coffee shop and if I'm in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stop by for their wonderful coffee.

For…read morethat reason, some of their drink offerings are priced accordingly, with a 12 oz medium pour over costing $10. Unless you're a coffee connoisseur, you may want to skip the pour over for something a bit less special to save yourself a few dollars. The coffee was fine, but my unrefined palette was not able to fully appreciate the cup of brew. In terms of atmosphere, Kona Coffee & Tea has plenty of seating outdoors around the porch and a few high tables indoor, where they have AC blasting at full strength. They have free Wi-Fi available as well, so I saw a lot of people posting up on their laptops. Parking is plentiful and easy to find since this coffee spot is located in a strip mall. If you have a discerning palette for the subtle flavors that show up in different coffee beans, you will definitely want to stop by for a cup.

While the coffee is definitely handled with care, the tour lacked structure and professionalism. Really felt all over the place. A majority of the tour was listening to the owner discuss her personal background (how she got here, how she came up with the name, etc), and very little about the coffee itself. During the tour, I felt singled out by the owner after I made a casual comment about wanting to live in Hawaii one day. Her responses were passive aggressive and judgmental ("how will you ever survive without your Amazon 2-day shipping?"). She continued to sling these types of comments at me in front of the group for the entire duration of the tour, which made it incredibly uncomfortable and unpleasant. The roaster is really nice and provided good insight on the coffee. That was the only good part of the tour. The coffee is good but I wouldn't not recommend the tour at all due to it being so unbalanced and unprofessional.

Tucked away in the mountains in the south Kona, we were lucky to stumbled upon this unique place. We toured one of its neighbor coffee farms only a few days before we went here so we didn't need to tour another farms. If you end up being in the same situation then go here just to sip some delicious coffee and tea samples and pick up some gifts/souvenirs but most of all, walk around the property to enjoy its stunning environment or just sit in one of the lawn chairs to read a book or quietly meditate. That's exactly what we did. The workers we interacted with were there to give you hospitality. They never force you to buy anything. We hadn't had coffee just yet as we went here mid to late morning so after sampling some coffees and teas we were going to buy some cups of coffee to truly drink a full cup but they didn't even let us; they gave us free of everything (from some complimentary cookies to nuts to munch. What a generous gesture that was!!) After that, we sat in the lawn chairs and spent at least an hour in the spacious yard that overlooks the ocean for some journaling and meditation. With the view and the nature that surrounded us, we were truly healed from inside out. We got to meet and pet all sorts of farm animals. While walking around, one of the female workers (who greeted us upon arrival) came and educate us on all kinds of tropical plants, trees and flowers. She was so personable to us where she truly wanted to get to know us. The hospitality is top-notch at this place. On top of the farm tour, tea ceremonies and coffee tastings they do, they also offer yoga (I think that's what she said), and (possibly) massages. This place is so much more than a typical coffee/tea farm. But most of all, its stunning 80-acre property is in itself a place for people to rejuvenate/recharge/meditate so they'll be refreshed in mind and spirit as they walk away from it. This is like everyone's dream place to work and live. You got to put this place on your "must visit" list while you are in Kona.

My friend found Monarch and off we went. It's located in an area with quite a few other coffee plantations. It was quite a trek to find it. But when we did, it was worth the trip. Upon entering the plantation you drive through coffee trees and emerge into a clearing with a circular driveway and a main building. As soon as we parked, we were greeted by Abby. She asked where we were from and we told her Northern California. She asked where in NorCal and we told her Sacramento. It turns out they're also from the area (specifically Woodland.) What a small world! Abby showed us around their tasting room and retail area. It was very small, but very cozy. She told us a bit about the plantation and how they came to be on the Big Island. She told us about the coffees available for tasting and the beans in their retail shop. Another gentleman, Greg, stopped by to tell us more about the plantation and it's operations. Since we didn't have the time to do the complete tour, he gave us an explanation of coffee from tree to cup. I'm not very knowledgeable about coffee, but my friend is and he was a fountain of information. The farm was so homey and cozy. It was like I was invited to a friend's home and enjoyed a leisurely chat on their patio. I highly recommend a tour of Monarch coffee plantation.
