Standard tourist restaurant, right around the corner from Lennon Wall and Charles Bridge. I set my expectations accordingly. Five stars as a tourist destination, three stars as a restaurant for regular mortals. So, a solid four star rating.
First, while not speedy, I wouldn't classify the service as slow. I also heard the wait staff handle orders (and seemingly random questions/requests) in Czech, English, German, Russian, and French (the order in which I heard it). The menu was also available in Chinese, though I didn't hear/see any tourists test the staff. Regardless, impressive enough.
I ordered the goulash (note: toasted bread = bread bowl), a Greek salad, a beer, and a bottomless pitcher of water with lime.
The goulash was tasty, though it required several bites for my palette to adjust to the various flavors.
Next came the salad (I'd have preferred the opposite order, but went with the flow). Nice balance of balsamic, veggies, cheese, and lettuce. Yes. Lettuce. I'm never a huge fan of lettuce in my Greek salad, but it worked here, today.
Happy with the lunch.
*edit: side note - the "bottomless carafe of water with lime" came with orange and lemon slices. Totally fine and refreshing, just noting here in case someone expects something green floating in the water. And because it confused the Russian speakers at the table next to me who wanted to make sure the lemonade on my table wasn't an alcoholic drink. read more
