During my visit, I did not receive an appropriate examination--my vitals and throat were not checked--and I was dismissed with the comment, "Well, if you are speaking, you should go back to work." I have been in pain for several days and was seeking proper documentation to provide to my employer. I was informed when scheduling the appointment that paperwork could be completed for an additional fee, yet upon arrival, I was told it would not be filled out unless I was seen a second time. The dismissive and unprofessional demeanor displayed during the appointment only added to the distress of the situation. I rarely seek medical care, and experiences like this reinforce the hesitation many patients feel when reaching out for help. This is not reflective of the standard of care one should expect from a healthcare provider.
