The guitar tech at other shop kept trying to fix the electronics in my guitar, It kept failing. 3 different times I brought it into the other shop, and each time the tech there said it was something different. So after the 4th time, something went wrong with the electronics, and $150 later, I decided to find another shop. Enter Centerstage Music. I met Greg. he was friendly and helpful. He took the guitar apart right in front of me and said let check out the wiring, it might not need anything(He was trying to save me money on electronics, instead of trying to sell them me). I stopped him and explained after getting the run around from the other guy I just wanted to replace the electronics just so I didn't have to worry about them, plus it was an upgrade. He understood. In less than 18 hours he texted me it was ready to pick up. It was priced more than fair. He had me plug into one of the many cabinets that he had available and made sure I was happy with the voicing of the pickups. Let me tell you this thing sounds amazing. Not only are will they work on your gear, but they are mainly a rehearsal space and recording studio. I'm, not the typical guy who writes reviews ever(I wouldn't waste my time writing a negative one about the last place), I don't why, I just felt the need to write this one. In a world of big box stores...where the guy at the counter knows less than you,... Center Stage is refreshing. Though the place is a little small, it is packed to the ceiling with inventory. My son had played piano since he was five, but he completely quit after growing disheartened by a lack of inspiration and empathy from his previous piano teacher in Brooklyn. He tentatively agreed to try drums, and now he absolutely LOVES it. He literally runs from the bus to his lesson each week. Chris has not only taught him the fundamentals but has also encouraged him to bring his favorite music into their sessions. Chris is caring, patient, and a musical force himself. My child has grown incredibly as a musician and as an individual since joining School of Rock. But…read morewhat has impressed me the most is the community the school has built. The programs assist all the students in exploring and honing their musical abilities --and beyond that, young musicians are able to form meaningful alliances with their bandmates and their instructors. Kids have shared with me that they had been anxious to perform until they were supported and encouraged by their teachers. At School of Rock, these students built the confidence to take the leap to performance!! It is so exciting to see the growth and camaraderie at the seasonal shows! I see it in all the kids!! School of Rock is inclusive and supportive-- my child feels at home there.
