Not the easiest fruit stand to find as the address just leads you to the middle of nowhere. Make sure to type in "Koloa Fruit Stand" into the GPS instead of using the address. Tucked into the side of the road, it's pretty easy to drive past this fruit stand if you're not paying attention. They have a pretty stocked selection of fresh fruits. And although prices were definitely on the high end, all the fruits were fresh, ripe, and ready to eat. Very small fruit stand on the side of the road which was near our hotel at the Hyatt and decided to give them a try. There wasn't a huge selection when we checked it out but they had tangerines, lots of mangos, avocados, papayas, Longans, watermelon, Apple-bananas and a few other things. We decided to get: 1. Longans: Very sweet and easy to peel. Very juicy. I think it was about $4 per lb. 2. Tangerines: Super sweet and juicy. Had seeds but not a lot. These were on sale for 50 cent each. 3. Apple-bananas: Very sweet and flavorful! Actually my first time trying it and I liked it a lot. I liked the more dense texture. Overall, limited selection but the fruits were reasonably priced and very sweet. They close right at 5pm so go early. read more

Open 11am-5pm according to their banner. I noticed that Google lists their open time at noon though. The Koloa Fruit Stand is a short walk from the nearby beach houses. There's a waving banner that announces the stands presence by the side of the road. When I went, the man at the entrance mentioned that the produce were from his uncle's farm and that his aunt tended to the stand as well. Super cool family business. There was a variety of fruits and veggies when I went around noon on a weekday. I saw cucumbers, Swiss chard, bok choy, mint, tangerine and oranges, papayas, bananas, pineapples, Thai bananas and apple bananas are $1.50 per lb. Rambutan and logan were $5 per bag or about $3 per lb of you want to pick your own from the bin. There were 2 sizes of sunrise papaya. The larger ones are $3 each. Smaller ones are $2 each or 3 for $5. What I was especially excited about was the coconuts! I'd been hoping to get my own coconut to enjoy, so was thrilled to finally get one :) They chop it open for you and provide a straw. I wasn't told about them offering to also cut up the flesh, but from other reviews, looks like they can do that too. read more

This is the cutest stand, slightly hidden yet right on the main road. We got a small bag of fresh lychee for $5, apple bananas for $1.59/lb, 3 papayas for $5 and an egg fruit. They also had soursop, whole coconuts, some veggies,l like whole carrots with the tops, and the freshest cucumbers and bok choy I've seen. The girl working at the stand was so cute and sweet. She even told us how to pick the egg fruit and how best to eat it. Support small businesses! This fruit stand has the best fresh fruits. I've never had such sweet and juicy mangoes and dragon fruit in my very long life. I wanted to pack my suitcase full of them if I could. We stayed in Kauai 5 days and we stopped here 3 times. We would've stopped here 5 times if we discovered them on the very first day. The owner cut up the pineapples and mangoes for us because they knew we were staying in a hotel and don't have access to knives. There's also 2 cute puppies who greet you. The owners are super nice, and we must have gone there 3 times in our 6 day trip. Wow, these fruit and veggies are fresh and delicious!!! We bought apple bananas, star fruit, papaya, tangerines, mango, limes, tomatoes and carrots. We also got a coconut, which we were able to enjoy drinking on site, and then they harvested the meat for us to take home. That is a skill! I found it super interesting to watch a pro do it with ease (especially because I've tried several times myself and have not been very successful lol!). Located on the way into Poipu, bypassing Koloa, thus farm stand is well labeled and visible from the street. There is a dirt parking area with a cute picnic table under a shady tree. We will definitely go back once we finish what we got. read more

Exactly what we were looking for, tiny little fruit stand on the side of the road with local produce - lines, tomatoes, avocados, various greens, bananas, etc. Look for the big flags on the side of the road - and pull into the dirt lot. nothing else around. They'll open the coconut for you to drink and then crack it open when you're done to eat the coconut meat too. Highly recommend the apple bananas too :) read more

Yelp! y u no show map location!! :( This place is hard to find because it doesn't have an address, so your best bet is to use this geolocation: Latitude: 21.8775677867 Longitude: -159.446668331 or just "21.8775677867, -159.446668331" in Google Maps. Ok! Now once you find the yellow-roofed hut, you will want to spend all your money here because this place is the most legit fruit stand on the entire island. No where else was I able to get Longan and a freshly cut coconut. Don't know what a Longan is? It's those brown looking marbles all clustered together. Never had one? Buy the entire bag. Then buy another because the Longans on Kauai are so incredibly sweet you'll find yourself devouring the entire bag in no time. (or at least I did) The owner was incredibly friendly and cut open our fresh coconut with a giant MACHETE and we were able to enjoy our delectable treats on the picnic benches. We also purchased some miscellaneous produce like cucumbers, banana, and papaya. But the Longans were the true stars of our purchase and I crave them everyday. read more

Stopped by here after reading the 5-star reviews and for a $5 coconut, I'd been craving this my whole trip! Turns out, this lady charged me $7 (most expensive I've seen) and for a bitter, old coconut with hard meat inside! I expressed this to her and she tried to blame me saying I wanted a coconut with meat and that's why it was bitter tasting. What? I noticed she stopped selling that lot after I got mine, but she still made me pay for it. Not good business, so I won't be back. read more

This fruit stand is legit! The stand itself was located just a bit away from the hotel we were staying in close to Poipu beach. They may also be found during the Wednesday "Culinary Market." Just off the main road, the terrain is a bit rocky so if you're worried about your car getting a flat park on the side of the road and walk down. When I visited there were wide varieties of coconuts (of which they can open or scoop the meat out if you ask), papayas of all sizes, mangos, bananas, and a few other fruits I can't remember. I love tropical fruit and I'm so glad we found this fruit stand through yelp. Mainly, my boyfriend wanted a fresh coconut, and this fruit stand has PLENTY. They're $5 each- a bit pricey, but... when in Hawaii, right? The other produce is definitely more reasonably priced. The stand is fresh and owned by a couple - the husband cut the coconut open for us to sip on. They're big coconuts so we shared one. Afterwards, the husband cut open the coconut and packed up the meat for us to bring home. Afterwards, I spotted some of my favorite fruits - Longan and Rambutan, which were about $3 and $3.50 a pound respectively. I ended up grabbing a ton and it ended up being $5 for all of the berries!!!! All delicious and sweet. Such a friendly cute place, wish I had one near me at home..... !!! read more

What an awesome fruit stand! We found the sweetest papayas, mangos, and apple bananas. The fruit is reasonably priced. The papayas are 4 for 5 dollars. Passion fruit is 3 for 1 dollar. The owners are super friendly and will help you pick out which fruit is ripe. The second time we went, none of the papayas were ripe. The owner actually went into her farm and tried to pick some ripe ones for us. They also have coconuts for 5 dollars The owner will cut up the coconut for you, once you finish your drink. If you can't decide on what you like, she offers samples. This place is a definite must try if you love fruit. read more

Though Google Maps refused to acknowledge the presence of this lovely farm-fresh stand, the Yelp directions led us here just fine. Right off the side of the road, this fruit stand features some of the freshest tropical fruits, like rambutans, longans, and passionfruit. There were even a few passionfruit hanging off the vine directly in front of where we parked, assuring us of the fruits' freshness. The woman running the register was so friendly, helping us pick some of the ripest fruits and also cut some of the more unfamiliar fruits for us to try before we took the plunge and purchased a bagful. At these prices, though, it wasn't really a gamble - the produce is all so reasonable and far better than what I'd find at the markets, both here and at home in Texas. The highlight of this stand was easily the coconut. They're $5 each, and we requested one that had more water than meat, since we've never really liked the taste of coconut flakes before. The husband took an impressive sword to the coconut and hacked off just enough of the bottom to create a flat surface for it to sit on the table and shaved off the top so that we could drink the water through a straw. It was so sweet and refreshing that I could easily have had a gallon of it, but once we were done, we were invited to bring it back so that he could take a smaller knife and shave out the flesh and place it in a plastic bag for us to take home. Here, again, we were shocked at how much we loved it. It was soft, sweet, and so much creamier than any other coconut meat we've ever had. If you love fruit or, if like us, you've gone through life thinking you'd never like coconut, let this humble fruit stand change your mind! read more

We got some apple bananas, a young coconut ($5 each) and a mango for a quick snack. - Owner helped us to pick a mango and even peeled and cut the mango up for us. - She let us know that the coconuts were very young but was very juicy. Though there wasn't much meat, the fresh coconut water was fantastic! - I hadn't heard of the apple bananas until that same day and I am so glad I was able to try some in Kauai. Best fruit stand ever! The fruit is amazing ( i havent had the veggies so I can't say) it is located on ala kinoiki rd...1 min north of poipu Rd. They have the best papaya, pineapples, and longans (YES LONGANS) I'VE EVER HAD! you can also get coconuts, rambutans, Apple bananas, and much much more.
