The egg rolls had great flavor and were served with a delicious duck sauce. We both enjoyed them. The crab Rangoons did not have much crab in them and had a strong cream cheese flavor. For our entrees my husband had the Bangkok combo with beef chicken and shrimp in garlic sauce, served with fried rice. I tried a bite and his was delicious. I had ordered the vegetable delight with shrimp in a "light sauce" which was very brothy and did not have much flavor. The fried rice was just that. No egg or vegetable in the mix, but it was good. I have visited other Thai restaurants and perhaps I might have enjoyed something else on the menu more than what I ordered this time. I will say that service was friendly, our food came out in a timely manner, and our water glasses were kept filled. If you are in the area and you enjoy Thai food, you might want to give Thai Smile a try.

The restaurant itself feels a bit unexpected for a rural setting, which may help explain its strong ratings. The atmosphere is super cozy and we felt welcomed from our first steps in. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and we met Michaela who took fabulous care of us for the evening! We settled in to a couple of their specialty cocktails (midwinters night dream and cardamaro manhattans - yummy I'll say) and the Brussel Sprout starter. Let me say to come hungry because the portions are large but yummy. The sprouts are a meal all by themselves! But there's more! I had the porcini rubbed filet and Teresa had the cabbage confit. Both portions were sizable and while I know she loved her cabbage, I was in heaven with a perfectly prepared filet that just melted in my mouth. Plus the asparagus spears and the Okinawa sweet potato mash were perfect accompaniment! This is the…read moresecond time (out of the last two purchases, about six months apart) that our order has been filled incorrectly. So I'm taking off one star just for the disappointment that happens when you get home with something other than you are expecting. Last time our hot & sour soup order was "Happy Family Soup" which my husband couldn't eat at all because of the assortment of meats and fish. This time our order of Pork Lo Mein was filled with Pork Mei Fun. The rice noodles had ZERO SAUCE OR FLAVOR. if I'm intending on ordering Mei Fun I always order Singapore Mei Fun with the delicious curry seasoning. The second star is removed because the Hot & Sour soup was beyond HOT! I really like spicey food as does my husband but this soup deadened my taste buds towards food eaten at a separate meal on a separate day. It was SO HOT that the broth of the soup was an orangey red. Every spoonful had at least three or four visible chunks of red pepper. The bottom of the bowl was a collection of ground black pepper, white pepper, and chunks of red pepper skins. The first night we ate the soup it was HOT but tolerable because it was something we hadn't eaten for a while. The second night neither one of us wanted to finish the bowl because it was just TOO HOT! The third star taken off is for the quality of meat used in the General Tso's Chicken and the Mongolian Beef. The chicken was large, hard, stringy pieces of chicken that you could neither cut with a steak knife or chew. The sauce was obviously made by their cook that likes heat. It was orange not brown because of the number of red peppers. The whole large order only had two pieces total of broccoli. As for the Mongolian Beef it was thick chewy chunks of beef like what should have been used as stew meat so it would become tender. Once again it was unchewable and not worth struggling with a sharp knife. There was little sauce or onions with the Mongolian beef so it was a bust! My husband would like me to take off a fourth star because what we planned would be a third night of dinners is going in the garbage. We are dumping one quart of hot & sour soup, 2/3 an order of Mongolian Beef, 2/3 of an order of General Tso's Chicken, 2/3 of the Mei Fun that we had hoped would be our Pork Lo Mein, and three small containers of rice. WHAT A WASTE! That's money down the drain. I on the other hand am giving the star because the Egg Foo Yung on the first night was delicious. I'm being generous giving this restaurant two stars because we maybe didn't like the food but at least we didn't get sick like some reviewers have written in their reviews. WE WILL NOT BE BACK FOR AT LEAST A YEAR AND DEFINITELY WILL READ CURRENT YELP REVIEWS BEFORE WE RETURN !

We had two very enjoyable dinners and some lo mein left to supplement another meal. We have put China Buffet back on our list of restaurants to enjoy. The fifth star is lacking because they have raised their prices considerably as if they were an elegant restaurant. It's a little pricey for a casual dining experience.
