Everyone was very nice, and the selection wasn't bad. BUT the woman at the checkout (apparently from California, according to a pin she was wearing), ruined everything. She wasn't just rude to us, she was rude to the people in front of us. She acts like everyone is a problem, and she makes little personal digs. I have always enjoyed shopping at Kohls. My favorite departments are dresses, the shoe department and purses. Some of my prettiest dresses and cutest shoes have come from Kohl's. Kohl's always have great deals and I enjoy shopping there with the exception of the stores typically being in such disarray. This location was really clean and organized however and everywhere I looked employees were putting things away and organizing shelves. I was very impressed and left me just say to all the shoppers who make employees jobs harder by randomly dropping clothes they've pulled out to look at onto the floor for others to pick up .. go play in traffic. Didn't your momma raise you better than that? I was returning something I had picked up from Amazon to their store which was easy enough as their returns counter was empty, so I'm not sure why the bubble gum popping employee felt the need to be snarky when I asked her about the money being refunded back onto my card but whatever. read more

I dropped my $300+ worth of merchandise & walked out - they were completely rude about me being in the store at 9pm, headed for the checkout, refused to even answer a question because "they're closed". Been shopping at Kohl's for past 10 years with no issues. Then out of the blue they close my account they say for "inactivity". Company never even sent any notice that they were going to close my account. They also didn't even inform me it was closed; had to find out there credit report. Will never shop at this store again. I know understand why their sales are declining and going out of business. UPDATE: contacted Kohl's and they said they would forward to corporate office. Corporate just ignores. Worthless company. It's pretty much like all of them. The floor in the womens undies section is filthy. The staff is unprofessional and impolite. My big complaint is that you never know how much something is teally gonna cost by the time they add all the unexpected discounts. I appreciate the savings, but if I knew what I was spending I might buy more items. read more

While shopping at kohls I heard the most unfortunate conversation between a manager (Amanda) and an associate who wants to stay anonymous. Amanda the manager said that she shouldn't have to be folding clothes due to her being a manager and that the associates should just do their job better. I was almost thinking about telling my daughter to apply here but after hearing this I will not have her subjugated to such a hostile work environment. The managers should help when help is needed and not complain when something isn't done when the rest of the store is trashed. I really hope kohls gets back to the way it was Before. :( read more

I went here in Kohl's to shop since I never shop for myself quite a while now and I decided to go here because this is just near my place and is the most convenient for me. There are only a few people when I arrived, the place is very clean and everything is well organized. As usual every items is a little bit pricey and there are few items that are on sale but it is still expensive. They have a lot of good brands and most of the items are in a good quality. I picked three pieces of jeans and good thing is that they have a dressing room so I can check it myself if the jeans really fits. I also tried some clothes and thought that it is perfect for me. I had a lot of items in my hand that time when I went to the accessories section. The staff in there was super helpful and very convincing so I decided to buy a necklace. The line in the checkout is very slow as well as the cashier. It took a couple of minutes but still I had a great time shopping in there. read more

The store has really gone downhill. Each department is approx 30% of their original size. Selection is pitiful. They wasted space adding Sephora. If I want to buy that, I would go to that store. I have to admit I was a snob about Kohl's until my husband dragged me into the store. This place is amazing. Their prices are very competitive, even with their neighboring retail giant Walmart. I love that they pretty much have everything you will need in one store - clothing, shoes, household, beauty, athletic, kids, etc. Another great thing are their sales and their readily available coupons. My one gripe would be that the store is really cluttered and has to few signs indicating where things might be. Oh, and you will not find a single store associate until you hit the register. I've had two negative experiences at Kohls. The register, specifically. In August. A customer who was buying oodles of little kid clothing items was at one register. Who could blame her? They were on clearance. But the store chose not to open another register. This week I went back to Kohls. An anxious manager would tell each customer which register to head for, which seemed nice. She sent me to a certain register and an older couple got annoyed. They thought I had cut in line, and so did the cashier (but he was still very courteous and patient, since I pointed at the manager and said, "That woman manager told me to come here."). I think I have officially given up on Kohl's as of today. I mean anybody who is decent at shopping knows that they are overpriced but to add insult to injury they are also slow at checking you out and often Moody. I had a bad experience last year so I stopped shopping here and paid off my Kohl's card. Lately I've been wanting a specific pair of shoes so I went to Academy who had exactly what I wanted for $39.99. Unfortunately they did not have my size. I decided to bite the bullet and spend the extra money at Kohl's on the Skechers I desperately wanted. I went to Kohl's and sure enough they had a pair in my size for $64.99. I decided to try to save a little money since they are so much more expensive than all of their competitors and went to the front to ask if I could use a coupon. The line was long and as usual took forever to check out because they had nowhere near enough staff. When I got to the front to check out I asked the lady if she had a 30% coupon or something like that that I can use to save some money. She gave me a look and stated "if you open a Kohl's card". I told her I have one and just wanted to save a little money since their prices were higher than Academy and she said check my email and if I have one in there I can use it otherwise no. Really.... can't slide me a 10% coupon? Maybe even get me a 30% coupon and act like I'm some how in the club so that I come back and buy from you guys more often. At the end of the day this place is overpriced, snobby and let's face it not all that impressive in any way. I think it's time to take my business elsewhere and watch them slowly sink into nothingness like Kmart has. read more

This is in regards to Kohls.com, not the local store. I ordered a pet ramp for my dog on black friday 11/25/16. I chose next day shipping because my dog needs it asap. On Sat I check the status of the package and learned my next day package would not arrive until the following Monday. I checked the status and it showed to be delivered Mon 11/28. When it got late and it still had not arrived I checked it through fedex, it showed undeliverable returned to sender. I called fedex to have them reroute the package and was informed that Kohl's (the sender) would need to request it. I called their customer service in online orders and they told me that they could not intercept the package. It would come back to them and then they would contact me or return my order and I could purchase it again for the same price. This was my 1st time purchasing from Kohl's online and it will be my last. I am happy to give my money to another retailer even if the same item costs more! It is now the 12th of December and I have not received a call about my return or a refund. The packaged arrived back at their warehouse on November 30th. They advertise "hassle free returns" that is a joke!!!! read more

Kohls always has tons of stuff on clearance for a good price. They try to help customers when they can but lots of people need help. All of their available coupons are on the website so people to use. Cashiers are even willing to help you find them if you only ask. A word of advise though is give what you want to get back. In other words... remember that employees are people too! read more

I do not recommend this company for employment. I only went through the application process and was completed turned off during the interview. First, the interviewer was late for the scheduled interview. The applicants waited in the breakroom where merchandise is stored with employee's food.... Next, he called me by the wrong name. He proceeded to interview all the candidates a one time because he was too busy. If an employer is too busy to complete an interview then how can he properly access an applicant's skills and experience? Lastly, the posting was for a seasonal position, however he abruptly ended the interview once he knew the applicants could not work on a full-time status on a long-term basis. I would like to mention that while I waited for the interviewer to show up, I was able to watch the customer service ladies work. Both were friendly and very quick to get people through the line. read more

Kohl's is pretty much the same everywhere you go, which I suppose is the point of a large chain like this. I like the Springfield store pretty well, I have never had any real problems. It seems that when the registers become congested at one end of the store, the checkout counters at the other end are clear. A little annoying but works for me. They keep the store relatively neat and clean. I personally don't mind a jumbled clearance section because you can find hidden jewels that way. My only beef with Kohl's applies to ALL of their stores, I hate the way everything is priced crazy high and then you have to use discounts and coupons to get the items to their rightful, reasonable price points. This sort of gimmicky pricing gets pretty annoying. However I am willing to play the game, especially because I find that most of the clothing at Kohl's is cut very well and fits me perfectly. Most of it lasts a long time too, and for a discount type of department store that's pretty great! read more

This is my "new" favorite store!! I hadn't been in Kohl's in years and went there last week....what awesome selections of EVERYTHING and at wonderful prices!! Many of the items on sale were things I had been looking at but waiting for a good price. The clerk at the register was so friendly, helpful and had some great suggestions for us. I have NEVER been so DISSATISFIED by a store and its customer service before. I was fortunate enough to have been bought two of the Rachel Ray Cucina 12 piece cookware sets for Christmas, so we decided to return the one my mom got us from Kohl's. The store is in our town and we could pick out a new coffee pot and other household items all at the same time. Since my mom doesn't live in Springfield, and she hadn't given me the receipt, I was looking up Kohl's return policy to see if we could still return it. I decided to call the store, thinking that was the best way to make sure I knew all the information, and was confronted with the most hateful employee. I simply had stated and asked, "I received two Rachel Ray sets for Christmas and don't have the receipt to return one. Is there a way you could tell me the lowest price they have gone for in the last 13 weeks or 90 days before we bring it in?" The response I got was, "I have no clue. That's not my job I'm customer service." Still being pleasant, I asked if she could check on it for me and I only received more attitude and then thrown on hold as I heard the music come on. The next person to answer was from the intimates department, who then also put me on hold, except this time it was for over ten minutes. A guy then answered the phone having no clue why I was calling and who also didn't work in the department I was needing, but he was at least nice as I explained why I had called. Unfortunately, he was only able to provide me with the current price of the set and not what the lowest price had been, but because of his good customer service I said thank you and decided to just go to the store. He had said that if I pulled up the order online, then I could use that to return the item in store. When I got to the store, the employees working at Customer Service/Returns were more concerned with their conversation than the fact that we were standing there patiently waiting to return a product. When a woman finally said she could help us, all we got was, "is this a return and is anything wrong?" I said that it was perfectly fine, hadn't been opened, but we had just been gifted two of them. She scanned the box and said we could return it without a receipt for $24.99. My jaw literally dropped. I understand that without a receipt, you get the lowest price, but for an item that is sold in stores for $249.99, and my mom kept her eye on it for their lowest sale price in order to get it for us, and it was still over a hundred dollars....that is just absurd!!! I showed her the order online like I was told I could do, but she wouldn't except the online receipt, and when I asked when that was the price they wouldn't give an answer. I have never been so disgusted with a business before!! I am fortunate enough my mom can drive down with the receipt so that we can return it, but all I can think about is all the hard working people out there who suffer through this scam of a return. People whose friends and family work day in and day out, spent all their hard earned money on this set for their loved ones for Christmas, and if for any reason it was broken or they needed to return it, or anything at all, they would have only gotten twenty-five dollars back! It makes me sick to think this business cares that much about the profit, that they are willing to steal customers' money like that. I really hope no one finds that they have to return any gifts at Kohl's this year, because they will be keeping your hard earned money giving you nothing in return.
