I was just in the Joliet Kohl's to do an Amazon return. Employee was VERY rude and threw a fit because their was an entire line of Amazon returns. She was very unprofessional. She didn't greet anyone, say hi, nothing. This is the worst kohl's around. I constantly fill out the service questionnaire, nothing changes. They're understaffed for cashiers. They're always leaving sensors on clothing & I have to go back fir removal. The door alarm never catches the forgotten sensors. The new self check out is a joke. The shoe department never has enough shoe size variety. My 3 kids insist this store has nothing for them. They're perpetually out of sizes we need. I just met a beautiful young lady Dianne that worked in the Sephora make up area. I was so impressed how she was so helpful and helping me pick out the right colors! Not to mention she and I had so much in common. It was meant for us to meet. Khols you have a very dedicated professional caring employee that truly loves her job and making others very happy. The Romeoville store has reserved two of the best parking spots for special associates. Maybe better if these spots are open for special customers or the special associates won't have a need for them. I have been here quite a few times and I have to say this is a pretty good location. The staff is always friendly and accommodating when I come here and I'm always able to get in and out without too much waiting. And truthfully that's one of the things that keeps me coming back here, well that and the sales. When it comes to Kohl's stores, they are all pretty much the same. Same layout, same reliable, well-stocked shelves, and a plethora of clearance merchandise to sort through. The clothing clearance racks at this store were a mess and positioned so close together that only one person could browse at a time. The majority of it was crap anyway, so I didn't feel like I missed out. I've had some luck at this location in the past when I couldn't find my size at the North Plainfield store. Both Plainfield locations are also much better stocked than the always busy Fox Valley store. During my last visit, there was a Kohl's cash promotion going on. For every $50 spent, you earn $10 in Kohl's cash. I only bought a $10 t-shirt this time around, so no cash. Overall, items are priced higher during these promotions too: photo albums were priced "buy 1, get 1 for a penny," but the marked price on one photo album was $25! These are the same styles of photo albums sold at Hobby Lobby or Homegoods for $10. Avoid shopping when Kohl's cash promotions are going on, you're likely to overspend! Aside from the long line at customer service for holiday returns, the cash register line at this store is always really short. read more

The only reason this particular Kohls location got two stars instead of one is that my cashier was excellent. The aisles are packed so close together it's nearly impossible to push a cart. Never mind that we're currently in a global pandemic - this store is in blatant disregard of the Americans with Disabilities Act. As I was getting ready to head to checkout, I noticed a man talking with the employee who's supposed to make sure everyone has a mask on. Problem is, the man did not have a mask on, and the employee was wearing a bandana, which anyone who's followed the news for the past 10 months knows is not sufficient protection. I know that sometimes people forget their masks, and I waited for a bit to see if the employee would say anything (she didn't), and politely told the man he didn't have his mask on. He proudly told me he didn't. I pointed out the signs on the door say everyone must wear a mask to enter. He said he wasn't in the store; he was in the store, and I pointed that out to him. He then forcefully coughed several times with his mouth open, purposefully in my direction, but I was quite far away, and it only ended up going into the employee's face. It was that point when she told him he needed to put his mask on, which was a good 9 minutes after he had been in the store. This happened Friday, January 15, 2021 at about 4:50 pm, if the store manager wants to take a look at the security camera footage. read more

is it me or are they severely lacking in the fitting room department? i think there was only one for all the men's department, so it was kind of a pain to try on jeans since they're pretty far away. furthermore, it seems like their prices are higher than i remember...and the quality lower. however, they were able to dig up a pair of slacks i wanted from the back when they didn't have my size on the rack. that's definitely something i like in a business...even if they looked like they were previously returned. read more

Beware of deceptive credit card practices. !!! The checker told me she was checking my kohl's card to see if it was active when really she was trying to open up a new kohl's card. I asked her 3 times during the process if she was trying to open a new account and she stated 3 times she was not. I already have a kohl's card and don't need two. Kohl's obviously pays their employees to open new cards even lying to customers when doing so. After leaving the store I was emailed from my credit service stating there was s new inquiry on my credit by kohl's. I can't believe a representative of this store would flat out lie to customers in order to open up a new credit account. I called their corporate offices and felt like they were defending the actions of this employee. So just a piece of advise about this store especially if your concerned about credit inquiries affecting s potential loan you may need. To the woman working at Kohl's who was pacing back and forth at the front of the store speaking extremely loud on her walkie talkie about no lunches or breaks until your work is done ..... you are so unprofessional! Not only what you were saying was inappropriate, it was very annoying to the customers shopping. The radio was turned up very loud so you were coming through in stereo! And it went on and on and on. So my mother called Kohl's to figure out if they had the Apple Watch series 3. The employee answered and said, "I am not sure, I'll transfer you to electronics. Okay?" My mom said "sure". We waited for a good solid 10 minutes while driving around for Black Friday. The employee just hung up without a word. This was my first time visiting Kohl's and I am not impressed at all! I had two outfits with gift receipts and they would not give me cash back. Then the store was going through a massive reset that I had to trample through. All these associates there and I was looking at pillows and not one person asked if I needed help. And the lower priced pillows were not marked with prices! I have a $100 gift card, almost $50 in Kohl's cash from returns that didn't fit her, and was looking to purchase a glider and the only ones they had were outdoor furniture. And when I tried that one it was wicker it was broke! The only good thing was the checkout lady was really nice! Hence the second star. Even got me a cart that would hold my daughter. But good luck trying to find a cart return. I have never to Kohl's before and I will never return! I drove an hour for this?! I'm surprised this company is still in business. I guess if you are here specifically for clothes it is okay. Also, my daughter needs diapers not more clothes! She already has plenty if that! They need to get with the times. I think their clothes and prices are great but I was constantly asked if I wanted a Kohl's charge. After telling them no 4 times I was asked a 5th time and the lady even asked my friend if she wanted one as well. I was pissed at this point and then when I showed the lady, by the name of "Ben"'on her name tag which I'm not sure if it was because a coworker called her "Shay", a coupon and she told me I couldn't used it because I did not have a Kohl's charge. I looked into details on the coupon and it said nothing about having to have a Kohl's charge. I went to customer services and she was very nice and understanding. I explained to her the situation and she even said "I'm so sorry they are not training the girls right and just throwing them in with out knowing everything". I think Kohl's need to prepare their workers better if that is the case and to not be so pushy about getting their "Kohl's charge card" Oh yeah and if they weren't so concerned with the Kohl's charge maybe they would have gotten all of the security tags off the clothes I purchased before I walked out of the store. read more

Wish I can give it half of a star. Very overpriced their return policy is terrible. I return the gift that was $90 on the shelf. It was a gift it didn't come with a gift receipt. They only gave me $36 for it and of course that is only in store credit. They have their pants buy one get the other one half off. I figured that I'd only spent $20 I really wasn't paying attention. I figure out the error a week and a half later. Basically I said the girl behind the cashier. Should have mention something about you should go get another pair because they are half off. I I went to customer service. I bought in the receipt and try to explain the situation. But the lady behind the counter would not have nothing to do with it. I told if the girl behind the counter done her job we went to be in a situation and she told me the girl behind the counter did. So she pretty much admitted that Kohl's policy is to rip you off.
