While in Oregon on vacation my mom told us about this facility. She called about taking a tour and…read morewe were happy to find out that they offered daily tours. We set one up and went. It was a very fun and informative tour for my mom, my two teenage daughters and myself. We really enjoyed learning about how the dogs are trained and I was especially happy to learn that their dogs are all rescued from shelters! We got to meet and interact with one of their "graduates" named King and see what he can do. We all enjoyed it very much and will go back again next year. The tour was free to boot so that even made it nicer. I recommend going here to learn about these wonderful dogs and trainers.

A day or two later the dog was sneezing thick yellow mucus. when i called i was told maybe she was "just getting used to the new environment", but it was also mentioned that there was "some kennel cough going around" in the facility (why want i told before?). the puppy recovered, but by then my other (fully vaccinated) dog and my sons 2 dogs (including a 2 month old puppy) were all infected with this highly contagious illness. my 2 year old dog ended up the sickest, barely able to breath and not eating or drinking for several days, it took her a month to fully recover. meanwhile, we did the responsible thing (which the kennel should have done) and isolated all of our dogs so no others would suffer as mine had. I paid a higher than expected adoption fee ($500) but rationalized that it was for a good cause. however, i am now under the impression that this kennel gets shipments of dogs and puppies and after only a couple of days makes them available to go out into the community. makes me wonder if it's about turning their "inventory" quickly, even if it means starting a possible epidemic in their community? my dog was lucky, but if she'd been old or unhealthy she might not have made it through the illness. I would not adopt from here again nor would i bring an animal to this facility. ask a lot of questions and isolate any animal if you choose to adopt from there, because they don't do it for you! that being said the staff were all very nice, but they need a policy to isolate and observe for a month, rather than 2-3 days, in order to protect the animal community when they bring shipments of animals in

We are new to the Coos Bay area and my 11-year-old Labradoodle, Viva, has been battling oral melanoma. When the tumor grew rapidly and needed emergency debulking, several other local vets turned us away, saying it was "out of their scope" -- even though they would have removed and biopsied a similar mass if it hadn't already been diagnosed. We were facing weeks-long waits for a veterinary oncologists in Portland and the very real possibility of having to make a heartbreaking, premature decision. Morgan Veterinary Hospital stepped up immediately when no one else would. They handled the emergency debulking with skill, compassion, and professionalism. Thanks to their willingness to help, my sweet Viva has had several more wonderful weeks -- happy, eating well, and truly enjoying this final phase of her life. Every day we get with her now feels like an incredible gift. The entire team showed such genuine care for both Viva and me during an incredibly stressful time. They made a scary situation feel manageable and gave us hope and time we didn't think we'd have. If you're in the Coos Bay area and need compassionate, capable veterinary care -- go to Morgan Veterinary Hospital. They went above and beyond for us, and I will be forever grateful. Thank you, Morgan team, from the bottom of my heart.
