There may just be a larger change in how it is being run currently but the rudeness of one particular clerk yesterday- older white lady/grey blonde hair, working the main cash out area; probably caused a lot of those witnessing the issues to rethink shopping there-as it should. Where you spend your time and your money matters more than ever. It certainly has for me. Normally, this is an incredible store; but it's the little bad patterns of rudeness that can cause a sea change in customer loyalty. I suspect Kohls is big enough to absorb that if they are willing to tolerate clerks who are mad at the customers for not know which place to stand or what to ask for. Prior to my experience that day, an older lady needed to make a "unaccompanied receipt" return which the clerk was glad to loudly explain beforehand catching my attention, but then when not addressing the waiting people by the Amazon desk, when someone was brave enough (me) to ask a simple question of if someone was working that line (which has always been the norm, even when its moved back and forth across the store from one area to the other) the response was stunning, because the clerk noted that Kohls differentiated between "paying customers" and those using a "free return service". Says it all I think- defining instantly that the money I had intended on spending there on a new coffee machine after I had handled my return, would not be done there.. as I am not a paying customer. Oddly enough, the woman behind me was asking the same question and she seemed offended. Not sure what was said when I left, but I said simply "Ok, you all heard her" and I left. To their credit, the Kohls online customer service understood the angst and disappointment this clerk caused me, and they've apologized. It's really caused me to think that people are surely not stupid and ignorant enough to realize how money moves people? If we feel appreciated and kindly treated, we spend money. Spending money ensures jobs stay (not always of course). I suspect she was having a bad day- but wow. Just wow. A decade of shopping there over in an instant because of one rude clerk? Maybe so. I know if I stated any of my clientele were less important than any of my others, I'd be fired- maybe that says something about the higher expectations my employers have. Their management is incredible which is the reason I am not 100% against shopping there again- maybe the lady was new, maybe she was not getting the support she needed- she was moving slowly, which can be common when brand new- not sure. As for cons: the coupon games, I just dont play them anymore. On the upside, I saved $599, because I decided to not spend any of my "free" time there vs the "paying" customers. read more

This review is specific to this store on Allison Lane. But I have to say Kohls I general are very good stores no matter location. Kohl's on Allison is unique because the staff always seems so well trained. They appear to be enjoying their work. They are helpful in getting you the best deal available. I totally enjoy shopping at Kohls's. The store is always clean and organized and up to date on the merchandise. Best part of Kohl's is they DO NOT have pushy sales clerks following you and asking over and over if they can assist me. I'm here to shop not to be bothered or doused with a bottle of cologne. I also do not need to be reminded that the shirt I'm about to try on was actually made for a slimmer body so it may seem a bit snug? Did I ask you that Miss Macy? Now you can't get Johnston and Murphy's at Kohl's but you can get some outstanding buys on some really good quality clothing. I love the home furnishings and the kitchen accessories they have available. If you do need a clerk they are eager to help and if they do not have a particular item in stock they will call other stores to see if it's available elsewhere. Don't forget Kohl's also does Kohl's cash during certain times and they give outstanding discounts to Kohl's credit card members. I recently purchased a 169.00 set of Vera Wang sheets and with my Kohl's discount and Kohl's cash I paid less than forty dollars. My wife has been shopping at Kohl's for many years. She's mentioned more than once that Kohl's is changing, and not for the better. This past week she bought numerous clothing items for our grandsons. When she got home and started looking over her receipt, she noticed the very first item on the receipt was an Action Figure for $12.99. She did not buy an action figure, so she immediately called customer service. The lady she spoke with stated it sometimes happens that if the cashier had done a price check just previous to my wife checking out, the register will record the price on the next customer. Customer Service said it's not uncommon when the non purchased item shows up as the first item on your receipt, which was our case. Additionally, the action figure was the ONLY item on our receipt that had an arrow in the right margin. Customer Service said they would make a note in the computer referring to that receipt number and we could come back anytime and get our $12.99 back. Today my wife returned to get the credit. The lady behind the counter gave her 1/2 her money in cash and 1/2 on a Kohl's Cash Card. My wife stated she wanted the entire refund in cash and the lady told her she couldn't do it that way. Keep in mind my wife has been a Kohl's customer for years and charged enough every year to get a special card. All I'm saying is she has an extensive history with Kohl's and I can't believe they wouldn't refund her money in full. Lesson learned, never leave the check-out area without checking your receipt! read more

Stopped by kohl's to grab a couple things. Great sales. Clean store. However, my sweatshirt had the security tag on it still when I got home. Because I was 20mins away I didn't drive back and instead resorted to YouTube. Cashiers need to be more careful. read more

Used to be a handy store. Reasonable prices for their products. The shopping experience is marred by the canned music. It is TOO loud. It drowns out conversation, disrupts thought processes. When asked about turning it down, i was told corporate controls it. I was given a number, it was to apply for Kohls charge card. SERIOUSLY? I've been buying my Levi blue jeans from Kohl's for well over a decade. The prices are average. For the last few years they have been $42.99 and sometimes $38.99. They claim it to be a sale price but that's just what they always are at any store you walk into in America. I went to go buy a pair tonight and they had a sale of buy one get one 1/2 off. I only wanted one pair but thought what the hell. I grabbed 2 pair and went to the check out. It rang up to over $90. I said that can't be right. The guy said they were $59.00 a piece with one being half off. I told him they aren't $59.00 a pair anywhere on the planet and he found a little bitty price tag and sure enough it said $58.99. The damn sale was about $1.00 more than the normal price!! I didn't want 2 pair to begin with so I just put them both back. I just ordered 2 pair from Amazon for $68. Don't get me wrong. I believe in capitalism and I believe that people can ask any price they want for anything. But don't use a make believe market price and rig it to make it look like it's on sale. It's basically lying and cheating. If you don't want to put them on sale then just don't. But respect your customers and quit trying to deceive them. You would think that the lawsuits in California would have made them rethink their marketing strategies. read more
