They still have every department you'd expect, just truncated. The architecture (if you can call box store construction that) is designed to make the space look huge from the outside, so it was odd to find the interior relatively small. The staff was pleasant and helpful and knew exactly what they were doing, so I imagine they were pulled from nearby stores. It was great to encounter a knowledgeable, helpful staff rather than awkward trainees still ironing out the bugs. I was surprised to find small bits of clearance sections in such a new store. I guess they were thoroughly supplied with all aspects of TJ's. They are well-stocked for the holidays, with the typical bougie brands (as I call the labels designed to boast middle class status). They had nicer purses/accessories than I ever see at the Broomall store, but not as nice as St. Davids. They had a decent selection of pet toys and kid toys as well, which are always beefed up before the holidays. MANY deals were to be had because TJ's regular toy prices are as low as the Daily Deals I've recently bought on Amazon (lower than Amazon's regular prices, for sure).

As someone who enjoys snagging a good priced item, HomeGoods tends to be a fantastic place for just…read morethat! However, this location leaves a taste of disappointment in my mouth. The store itself is large - there are clearly divided areas for whatever you are looking for be it kitchenware or children's toys. That division comes at the cost of well...cleanliness. This place is a hot mess. Things are cluttered to say the least. Most items look like they have seen better days and there are a lot of damaged items. You may be able to get a damaged item for less but it can be different to persuade staff to let it happen. As for the staff and lines...well...I hope you don't have any plans when you go shopping here. There is usually only 1 cashier even during the rush and honestly, that cashier will just chit chat and ignore the line. No calls for help or anything. You would think you could at least stay entertained when you wait in line with the miscellanous items along the waiting line but nope. The shelves there are empty or have the leftovers from someone's cart.

Whenever we've walked out of other stores empty-handed, we're able to find what we're looking for -- or a semblance thereof -- here! No doubt Home Goods will be seeing a lot more of me!

For the love of all the bargains in the world, how did I not hear of this place before?…read more This is a nondescript storefront on Passyunk Ave - 1421 Passyunk to be exact. How nondescript? Well, there's no sign. The metal shutters were down over the windows. Those who are not 'in on the secret' would have no idea it's there. But the door was OPEN and was that ever a good thing. They carry a large selection of women's clothes, casual to dressy, velour to furs (yes, real fur as well as faux), sizes S to 3X, with some jewelry and handbags tossed in for good measure. Many, many name brands, all NWT - I picked up some Calvin Klein, Jones New York, and Ann Taylor pieces - all marked on the original tags north of $100, the most I spent on any one piece was $29. I know what you're thinking...at prices like these, they've got to be hot, right? Nope. It's a legitimate business, been there for years according to my South Philly Aunt. They even take credit cards. This shops owners deal in remainder lots of designer clothing. These are the items not sold by major stores during their season run, consolidated and sold in groups at very low prices. As they're remainders, the stock changes daily, so if you see something, buy it. It does not go on sale, this IS the sale. It is by no means fancy - we're talking racks of clothes, little heat, and a try-on room in the back that reminds me of my days shopping at Lohemann's. It is so so so worth the no-frills. Oh, shoot. I just let the secret out, didn't i?

One associate was texting behind a fixture near the stock room in the back of the store and she didn't look up as I walked by. I approached another associate to request help. She was friendly and seemed to be willing to help me find what I was looking for. I told I would go ahead and start trying things on in the fitting room while she was looking for the item I asked her about. Having spent many years working in retail myself, I expected the associate to come back with with the item in my size or to let me know that she couldn't find and offer an alternative option. She never came to the fitting room, so I came out and found her on the floor. She then told me that she didn't have my size. I decided not to make a purchase because of the poor customer service. I like the brand and will continue to shop at the Loft, but I enjoy online shopping rather than visiting the Paoli, PA store.
