The store is located in an office building (you get buzzed in at the door), they don't pay retail rents, don't advertise much (other than word-of-mouth), so their overhead is low and that benefits you as the consumer. Once you go here you will never pay retail for jewelry again. The customer service can't be beat--they want you happy so you come back again. The store isn't huge, but if you don't see what you like, they can either order something or make it for you. I have had lots of custom jewelry work done here, especially my engagement ring, and the work is top-notch. I have also had watch repairs done here, and they have always been spot on. I've held on to some of my grandmothers pieces for 30 years, lived all over the country and waited until I moved back to Houston to bring these other rings to be resized so I can look down and remember my grandmother is still with me. There's 9000 jewelry stores in Houston, but if you want something custom made, and feel weary about who you can entrust a family heirloom to, bring it here. I only have three tokens of my grandmother left after all of these years and I've entrusted Sethi's with all of them. All the things that I would grab if my house were on fire, I've left with them, that means trust and a customer for life. I'm certainly not a high roller, I'm just your average nurse who works really hard and wants to treat myself every once in a while to something pretty, but I've always been welcomed like I'm the only person in the store when I come in. I think everyone has that experience here and why they have such loyal customers. I can't wait to see how they fixed up an 80 year old ring today. After work I took the necklace to the jeweler along with the receipt that clearly states "no refund but exchange within 7 days" with the receipt. I spoke with Tony, who then called SK (the jeweler who originally sold me the necklace) and it was agree upon that they would "this one time" exchange the necklace. I did not want another necklace, I asked if I could exchange it for a bracelet. Tony said yes, I did not see anything there that I liked, so I inquired about their other kiosk also within the mall. I walk over to the other kiosk and spoke with Jasmine, who then contacted Kaye (someone at their corporate office) who flat out said no, that I cannot exchange it. Jasmine even advised Kay that SK said yes, but she did not budge. I will be reporting this business to the BBB and filing a formal complaint in order to get my money back, because this is fraud and theft. As the receipt clearly states I can exchange the merchandise, but I was given two different answers and the worst customer service from Tony, SK and Kay.

And somehow I took great delight in being treated like a criminal at De Beers because I knew that I could vent on Yelp and warn all you people away from this awful store. I love nice things. Mostly to look, but we also love to splurge. My husband works right across from De Beers and when it opened last week he was really, really excited to see some of their unique and beautiful pieces. We've been hunting for a pretty earth tone diamond for me and De Beers (being THE diamond experience) claimed that they could get it in for us. So I finally make my stop in the store yesterday. It is Friday, I'm about to go to dinner, so I'm just wearing jeans and a nice top. You'd think I was flashing a gun around and about to break the glass and steal everything. They looked at me like I was a criminal. I felt compelled to keep my hands where they could see them so that the 90 lbs. security guard wouldn't try to tackle me to the ground. There were 4 salespeople (one woman) and the scrawny security guard. All of them avoided eye contact, two of them left the room when I got there and the other two were trust to guard me in case I wanted to hold them up I suppose. They continued on with their nice little conversation and looked me up and down as if wondering what I was doing there. I saw a few things that I fell in love with (including a necklace that my husband was planning to buy as a late anniversary gift), but their attitudes kept me from even asking to have them pull it out. I left in a huff. This is not Dallas. We're not overly pretentious. I've been at the Galleria enough to know that the people wearing sweat pants and a baseball cap are usually the ridiculously rich ones. The workers at De Beers have not learned this yet. One of the highest profile customers at my husband's store is a lady from College Station. She comes into the store in neon shorts and a fanny pack whenever she's in town and drops $10-40K every time. She was there the first day that De Beers opened and bought a $15,000 ring. She was back in town the next week for their "Grand Opening" and they pretty much didn't let her in the door. Big mistake. I'm assuming she'll never shop with them again. My goal now is to pull a Pretty Woman and take my mother in there. My parents decided to become filthy rich after I moved out of the house (isn't that how it always is?!) and they love to spoil my mother. A lot. As in many carats worth of spoiling. She currently wants to upgrade her ring another 2 carats (plus all the diamonds around the band itself), and needless to say that it would add up to a hefty commission. That being said, I'm now planning to take my mother in there in all her sparkling glory and have her pull out all sorts of rings (while I was in there, I didn't see one center stone as big as her current one) and then leave by reminding them that bad service to a seemingly unimportant client can ruin a bigger sale in the future. My husband and I came here looking for jewelry for our baby (also with us). They didn't have anything suitable for a baby. We inquired about adult jewelry, but it wasn't going to work. Shamsha was the only sales associate and no other customers were in the store. I decided to purchase a jewelry for myself. We asked twice about the current upto 40% off promotion, and Shamsha refused to give us a direct answer and instead started talking about the perks of the warranty. Judging by the total, there was no promotion to our purchase, even though it was advertised as everything in the store. My baby was starting to fuss at this point, so we grabbed the receipt and we left. As I looked down, I saw Shamsha had charged me for a warranty, without ever telling me there is a charge, or what the cost of it is. So I asked for a refund on the warranty, and I'll keep the jewelry. Now, Shamsha was clearly not happy and decided the whole transaction had to be refunded. I asked to purchase the same piece and she said no-it was a returned item now. I looked her dead in the eye and calmly explained, I wish to purchase the jewelry, without the warranty, and as it was still sitting next to her hand, couldn't fathom why I couldn't do this. Shamsha said I have to come back tomorrow. When I refused to drive back from my city, she proceeded to point out their other locations. The jewelry was right in front of her!! My child was beginning to get upset. I explained once more: she charged me a warranty fee without telling me there will be a charge and she cannot do this. She explained she will get a manager involved. Manager Mary fixed the issue in less than 5 seconds. Shamsha wasted 20 mins of our time for no reason. Even as I was walking out of the store, Shamsha made excuses for the 5th time that the price is assumed on the warranty, claiming no fault. She also literally yelled we aren't under warranty as we're stepping into the mall. Pure disgrace. Well done Mary for going above and beyond, given the situation. Turns out the jewelry was on sale, so with the warranty it was almost like paying full price-Shamsha thought she could get her commission off me! So deceitful. Shamsha, I too was in sales, and it's clear, my dear: you've been in the industry far too long so your blood now runs cold on commission only. I don't think I'll step foot in a Kay ever again. What a great first and last impression of your Jewelry store and Customer Service.
