While Asian cuisines are not my top choice, I decided to give Kogi Bulgogi a try because I wanted to have a different dining experience along with my girlfriend, who is quite fond of Oriental meals. As such, when we were in Gateway Mall, we decided to have dinner at this branch before watching a movie.
The interior of this restaurant is impressive. While I have never been to the Korean peninsula before, it was quite pleasant and relatively upscale compared to other Korean restaurants I have been in. Korean-themed background music and videos being played on TV added to the vibrant aura of the restaurant. I was also impressed by the wide selection of foods, from noodles to rice bowls. The meals also looked moderately pricey.
However, my experience went south from the moment I ordered my food. It took more than 30 minutes for my meal to be served, despite numerous follow-ups with the waiters and waitresses on duty at the time. My order was also bypassed for those who arrived later than we did. And when my Korean style chicken rice bowl did serve, despite its good presentation, it was already cold.
While the environment was indeed appealing, this branch of Kogi Bulgogi really disappointed me due to the poor service and quality of food. It may have been a case of a rare lapse, but compared to the other branches I have been to, I have definitely experienced better. Hopefully, my next visit would be more enjoyable. read more
