Our puppy Bandit had a rough start to his life. Everything was scary to him and we knew he needed a special trainer to help him learn that not everything was not a threat. He has significantly become more come and less fearful of other people and dogs around him. As you told me directly before I enrolled Theo in your board-and-train program -- and as shown in our messages attached here -- the program was supposed to include basic commands, leash manners including pulling, potty training, crate training, socialization, and behavioral issues such as jumping, nipping, and crying, and etc. You also specifically stated that the program included 2 training videos for me to continue working with Theo when he gets back home and 1 follow-up lesson. Now you are saying that these behaviors require continued consistency and reinforcement after the dog returns home. But how was I supposed to properly continue and reinforce the training when you never provided me with the promised training videos or the follow-up lesson? Please do not shift responsibility onto the dog. Theo is an American Cocker Spaniel, a breed widely known for being intelligent and trainable. You knew his breed, age, and behavioral issues before accepting him into your program and taking my payment. If you believed those issues could not be meaningfully addressed within your program, that should have been communicated before I paid you -- not after the fact as an explanation for why there was no progress. I do not need you to tell me that you "understand that my expectations were not met." These were not simply my expectations. These were services that YOU specifically told me were included in the program and that I paid you to provide. I expected you to do what you promised. More importantly, I have seen no meaningful progress in the very behaviors you were hired to address. Theo already knew basic commands such as sit, down, stay before he stayed with you. Yet after three weeks in your care, he still pulls on the leash, bites my hands, chews walls and other things in the house, has potty accidents, and has even urinated inside his crate. Based on the results I have seen, the issues I specifically hired you to work on were not resolved or meaningfully improved. It has now been more than a month since Theo came home. You had plenty of time to send the 2 promised training videos, provide the 1 follow-up lesson, and return Theo's favorite toys that were left with you. Instead, my messages were repeatedly ignored. What is especially concerning is that after weeks of being unable to get a response or the services you promised, I posted an honest review describing my experience -- and suddenly you have time to respond and offer to come over. At this point, I am no longer comfortable working with you. My trust in you as a trainer has been completely lost. Based on my personal experience, I would not feel comfortable recommending that other dog owners leave their pets in your care. I am requesting a refund of the amount I paid for this program. You have already contacted me right after I posted my review here, and I asked for a refund, and so far my request has also been ignored. read more

We knew that we had a unique puppy training situation with having not one, but two very active six month old sister pups. We knew our situation would require a special type of professional Trainer. One who could take on and handle two puppies at once... two puppies who are full of energy! We also knew that we didn't want them boarded and that we wanted their training to be on a daily basis. Because of my age and my balance issues, it would have been impossible for me to be transporting these active (unleash trained) girls daily. We needed a Trainer who could be flexible and would be willing to come to our house and handle training our two pups on a daily basis. The Trainer would not only have to teach them commands together, leash walking together, but also car seat and riding in the car manners. This wasn't going to be an easy task and it would mean that this Trainer would have to be willing to sacrifice their own needs in order to accommodate our needs. We needed a Trainer who wouldn't shy away from a challenging job. We found everything we could ask for and needed in the owner of Koda's Training company... Liliana (Lily) Aguilar! Lily obviously takes great pride in her job and her company. Lily is a confident dog Trainer! Lily was very accommodating and flexible while adding new command requests as we thought of them. Lily had great control with our two girls and yet used positive reinforcement and affection at the same time. Each day, Lily focused on new commands while always going over and reinforcing what she had already previously taught them. At the end of each day, Lily would go over with us what she had worked on with the girls and encouraged us to keep up with the reinforcements. Lily was always in command, but was also very loving with our girls. Both pups loved seeing Lily daily! The last couple of days (of 10 days total) were spent teaching both pups to walk together on a dual tandem leash holder so my husband could take them on their daily morning walks AND the riding in the car manners and commands. As you probably can tell... we are extremely happy with the decision we made in hiring Koda's Training! We would highly recommend Lily and her company! I cannot say enough good things about her training. This is my Belgian Malinois, Skye, went through obedience training and the results were amazing. Lili at Koda's K9 training is great and very knowledgeable. I had my 4 month golden retriever participate in her 3 week board and training for some house breaking issues I was dealing with. My dog came back potty trained, crate trained and stopped her nipping. As a cherry on top my golden learned basic commands (sit, down, stay and paw).
