What can I say? The best part of this whole experience was it all took less than 1 1/2 hrs, but…read morethen other incidents occurred that altered the course of my rating. *Sigh*
First, you must know I have natural hair which has been fined tuned to easily manipulate. No chemicals, just good training. Ok, now for the review. I now know the difference between a junior stylist and an "assistant" stylist; the junior stylist actually has some training, the assistant = working title. The wash and condition were so-so, but the tragedy began when they had to dry my hair. I honestly did not know that shops still use a comb on the end of the dryer, but I learned this as I was being stabbed repeatedly with the tool.
Next, I was asked to sit in the waiting area until the stylist/owner, Kiesha, was ready for me. The wait wasn't too long, so no gripes. When I was seated in her chair she asked a few questions like what did I want done, but she never addressed my concern which was my hair is breaking off at a rapid rate. She said, well I'll give you a basic trim. Ok, I thought...well we all know that natural hair has a different texture, so you must press it completely straight before trimming it, this did not occur. Second, she took a call as she was "trimming" my hair. Huh, is this why my trim turned into a cut? Perhaps!
But no, no...it gets worse. When I brought this to the attention of the stylist after being highly disappointed in the finished product, a debate ensued. Huh? Am I Obama and you Cain? I know the difference between a trim and a cut, I've had both and what she did was cut my hair. After some back and forth, I finally said, "You can't put [the hair] back on me, so just tell me the cost." To my surprise I was charged over what the normal price is for a wash, trim and style. Further, as the owner, she did nothing to rectify the situation such as reducing the price of services or trying to fix it. Instead she tried to convince me that her way was the right way. No-no my dear, the customer is always right.
Additionally, I had to go home and restyle my hair as I looked like that reject kid in school who rocks the mushroom that mama gave me. Upon pressing it out at home, I realized that my hair was uneven...what the peaches???
So, I get to work today and what's the first thing I hear, "Oh, you got your hair cut." Thanks for clarifying lady at the front desk, I thought it was a cut, but the stylist kept saying it was only a trim.
Needless to say, I will not be recommending anyone to this establishment. Instead of "taking tyme", take a different route.
