I had some scammers a while back convince me to spend $750 to clean my air conditioning unit. I knew it sounded fishy, but when you're not educated on the intricacies of Air Conditioning, you just don't know. I had a leak in my downstairs bathroom and we needed to confirm it wasn't caused my AC drain line, and Koch came out and gave an honest assessment and made some much needed updates to my unit. Something that the previous company never even touched on. I appreciated the time Koch took to explain my unit and the costs were more than reasonable. read more

Top notch service! Professional service at an affordable price. Definitely my go-to for HVAC services

Shelly and Rick are always on top of things and I know I can always count on them for honest options and pricing. We have known them for over 20 years and the work they do as a team is excellent. I highly recommend this honest company. 5 stars. Thanks for your help! read more

Sorry to say we have been loyal customers for 15 years and Rick has taken good care of us, but the past 2 call ins for an appointment it's like crickets. No response. I'm all in to give a business a 2nd chance , but they blew it. I'm giving a 3 star review for past services, but unhappy with the current way of doing business read more

We have been a loyal custom of Koch HVAC for many many years! Great service, honest, and reliable. Highly recommend!

We have used them for many years and recommend them highly! It's a family run business, and Rick and Shelley have always been a pleasure to deal with. Rick is quick to come out and is honest and professional. He troubleshoots the problem and then explains what's wrong and gives you all of your options to fix it, doesn't sell you something you don't need, and his prices are very reasonable. I trust Rick, and won't call anyone else. read more

Great service; fast install; not the cheapest in town, but if you want quality and attention to detail, Rick is the man.

I have service from Rick for several years. He is very professional. He is very knowledgable. I trust him completely. Also Shelly handles messages & securing appointments. GREAT company read more

A recent email conversation with Rick about improving the filter system in my 18 year old home resulted in an upgrade of the blower motor to an ECM type for more efficient and better air flow. I no longer hear the rumble of the old AC motor in the attic and our temperature throughout the house is more constant. The addition of a smart thermostat gave me an additional air recirculate feature whereby the fan turns on periodically (in between cooling cycles) each hour at half flow which keeps the air filtered and homogenized for more constant house temperature. I have known Rick and Shelly for over 20 years and can assure anyone seeking professional air conditioning work that Koch Heating and Air operates in the most ethical and professional way. As a home service provider myself in another trade, and a DIY person who is rarely inclined to hire anyone else, I fully understand how homeowners who depend on outside home services such as ours are warry of hiring someone they do not know. The internet has brought out the worst of businesses in all fields that sometimes take advantage of homeowners. I hear the stories. Not so with Koch Heating and Air. And Rick, I want you to know I found your grocery list and it's ready to be picked up the next time you come by! Thanks for the great service! Repair is what you do! read more

I would give zero stars if it was possible!! Made an appointment because we had water leaking through the ceiling - went into the attic, located it was coming from the AC coils area and called for help. Rick came out quickly. Upon entering the attic he found fault with our quiet cool set up and drain pipes leading from coils. Then speculated someone bumped the pipe and cracked the pipe at coil fitting (never checked this). Checked the pipes for a clog, found one drain to be somewhat clogged and blew it out but recommended we reach out to a plumber. He did not unscrew the 6 screws to check the drain pan and did not test the system. $195 for his labor and parts. Tried to run AC again in the evening and water started draining again from a new place. After speaking with him on the phone he seemed happy with the work he completed. He did offer to come out again for no charge but said if it was the drain pan it couldn't be replaced and if it was the coils it would be expensive. I opted to not have him back, called another local company, explained the problem. They immediately went into the attic, unscrewed the 6 screws and located a large crack in the drain pan. Problem successfully diagnosed in less than 10 min. I would NEVER recommend this company and feel the $195 charge is a rip off. HVAC is expensive but being charged for mediocre work is more expensive! Mr Koch, as your reply confirms you did an incomplete inspection. This was the whole point of my review, to ensure others would understand your business style. With your continued speculating I feel it necessary to mention... for all I know the drain pan was cracked during your cleaning... We will never be able to determine this as you did a subpar job. read more

I'm going to keep it short and simple The best service and most honest man that I've ever encountered. Rick came our at last minute and got us working in 10 minutes. His wife was just as nice. Thank you so much. You are our go to company for air and heating. read more

I had me Koch come out to install a new unit 3yrs ago and he was nothing tiny professional and he didn't try to up sale me on things. His wife who helps him is also a very kind women and that also help made me to make a decision with going with them. A couple of months ago I was having issues and he came out promptly and took a look at the unit and got it up and running again and it turned out a bad thermostat. I would highly recommend and well only use him to keep him maintaining my unit!! read more

Rick is friendly, honest and fair! Replaced my furnace blower motor fast - I will recommend Koch services any day for anyone.

Rick put in our air and heater units, and moved the air to a better location after an add-on, about 10 years ago, and he did an amazing job! Very professional and knowledgeable, fair and upfront prices, and very ethical (never tried to upsell me). He's been back for normal service on the system, and was thorough and a good communicator. His wife Shelly answers calls and sets appointments, and she is a delight to talk with. Very cheerful, personable, and knowledgeable. read more

I just read the owner's reply. Blatant lies on multiple levels. My review was based on what he said. His reply seems to be based on his own assumptions. I am one of the most ethical persons around. Will update later. read more

Man, where do I start! Rick and Shelly are great! This is how the construction industry should operate. For starters Shelly is a breathe of fresh air on the phone. You don't hear a cheerful, lively voice from HVAC companies or service companies for that matter anymore. I called on a Saturday morning with a little bit of an emergency and Rick showed up 20 minutes later. He was super friendly and a super honest guy. Took him about 15 minutes to figure out what was wrong with our A/C unit and fixed it at a very fair, honest and reasonable price. Was he the cheapest, probably not. However, we wouldn't have received the great service and the quality of work. If you're in the Murrieta or Temecula area and have HVAC issues, it would be a disservice to yourself to not call KOCH. Thank you Rick and Shelly for making our house COOL again! All the best, The Milwaukee Guy read more

My home has two AC units. One up stairs and one down. I had to replace both and was dreading the cost. Not going to lie, but 10 to 15 grand on AC units isn't how I want to spend money I don't have. It was February so I wasn't in a hurry here in Murrieta, CA but figured this is the time to work the best deal. I obtained 6 quotes total. Lennox from Costco was tempting with the high end videos the salesman showed me and the price was actually better than I expected. But with those guys, you get a group of kids who have been trained just enough to do their prospective part of the job. In the end I went with Koch Air. He is a one man show with his Wife acting the part of receptionist and I'm guessing every other part of the business. I went with Koch because it was obvious the owner, Rick has been in the AC business for many years. He is a one man show. So what that meant to me was he was the only guy touching every single part of the AC system install. So why did I care about having only one expert touching everything in my house. Well, one example is the two units that I currently had. I had a 5 ton and a 2.5 ton unit. Rick looked at the set up and told me I was wasting money and energy on a 5 ton. He explained that often times a new housing development will slap in the same units for every house regardless of what was really needed because it was cheaper for them. He suggested I put in two 3 ton units and with his modifications, I would save money in the long term electrical bills. Long story short, he was dead on. My electrical bill has dropped dramatically every month. All the other companies I obtained bids from said pretty much the same thing.... "I would just go with what you currently have, since you know it works." Besides installing two new AC units, I had one bedroom that was always an oven in the summer. Rick quickly pointed out the problem with the original install that caused this and offered a solution that didn't break the bank. (They tried to run a 60 foot line with only a 8 inch duct line.) Long story short, as the weather is starting to warm up, I have two new AC units that work perfectly, consistent cool temperatures throughout the house and the bedroom that was always an oven is now just as cool as the other rooms. Koch AC was one of the lowest bids I received. This had a large part in my decision making. But now that the work has been done, I can honestly say I would have paid more for his service. Sometimes you get what you paid for. But with Koch AC, you get an honest and truly experienced AC guy who will resolve whatever your AC problem is. So if you are comparing quotes, make sure you ask yourself if the few hundred dollar difference was REALLY worth it. Especially when you average out those few hundred dollars over the many years of hassle free AC you will be enjoying. read more

This company is GREAT! Koch Heating & AC really does care about their customers, their reputation, their business and most importantly their integrity. Rick was able to quickly diagnose my problem and my problem was solved in a matter of minutes. A different heating and air conditioning repair company had sent 6 different technicians over the course of three weeks, recommended over $1200 in repairs that didn't solve my problem. Rick was able to fix it in about 5-10 minutes. Koch is highly recommended and they will get ALL my future business for heating and air needs. Awesome Awesome Awesome read more

Highly recommend this company. Great family run business. Local. Straight forward and honest with fair prices . We had a new system installed a few years ago and had them back for check up! Great experience! read more

Best service I have ever had. Rick is a honest man and gives great service. He has worked on our systems for many years. When a unit would break and we thought to replace it he would recommend fixing it when others told us to replace. We just had 2 units put in and he did a wonderful job. Very pleased with his service. Would highly recommend. read more

Great experience! Appointment was set between 1-3pm and he called to see if he could be here early!!! When does that happen? He showed up, diagnosed the problem quickly, and had it repaired within a few minutes! The longest part of the process was getting the approval for the repairs through the property management/owner. Although I wasn't paying for the repairs as we are just the tenants....the price seemed reasonable and he seemed like an honest man. I have only had the unit on for a few minutes but everything seems to be A-OK so I would highly recommend this company. Thank you for your great service! read more

I love Koch - they are a family owned business and not only are they fairly priced they're very ethical. They fixed my air conditioner once when I moved into my new home in 2008, rats had eaten all the wires outside. Rick showed me what had to be done and his quote was very affordable. Then eight years later he came out and replaced a part and once again for a fair price and my AC has been running great ever since, even in this heat. Yesterday my mom had a problem with her AC and "We Care" came out replaced a capacitor and the AC seized later that evening. My mom is on social security and she can't afford a lot. They gave her a quote to replace and clean the blower motor, and I felt the quote was very high. I called Koch and Rick came out and fixed the AC for half a of what they quoted "We Care" aren't anything like their name claims. Koch on the other hand is friendly, honest and fair! I definitely recommend Koch for anyone who can appreciate an honest and fair business. read more

,,,,Rick and Shelly were great. They responded to our needs when we needed a new air conditioner and heating unit. It was during the temps in Temecula being over 110. Rick rearranged things so he could install our new system in a timely manner during the extreme heat. He was professional and experienced and we felt comfortable having him change out our system and upgrading it as well. Both he and Shelley were so easy to work with. In addition, Rick took the time to convert the cardboard box the A/c came in, for our young daughter, into a house with a door and windows; She loved it! All her little friends have spent hours playing in, as well! Anyhow the entire working relationship was based on the knowledge of how much experience Rick had with a/c and heating systems and what was needed to improve our system. Thank you Rick and Shelly. We have lived in Temecula nearly 20 years and have called Koch the few times the AC conked out. Rick knows his stuff and his wife (she answers the phone) has always managed to fit us in his schedule the next day or sooner. His craftsmanship is excellent and prices are reasonable. Koch is a mom-and-pop business and Rick does the work himself. I highly recommend Koch Heating and Air. You never want to have to call for AC repair during sweltering heat, but if you do, you want Rick Koch on your doorstep. read more

Fast response. Honored warrantee that most wouldn't. Fixed problem quickly. Great family business. Will definitely recommend!

I can't recommend Rick and Shelly any higher, I would give them 6 stars if I could. Rick is a very professional person and his wife Shelly is great. In fact I already have recommended him to my neighbor. He is honest and very thorough. read more

I was referred to Rick (Koch Heating & Air Conditioning) by Shawn at Roger Miller Plumbing and I have been super happy with the service received by Rick. Shelly, who I believe is the boss, :) is the perfect mix of friendliness, knowledge, she knows the right questions to ask, and offers the first line of defense telephone recommendations. Best service in Temecula /Murrieta. This is a true red American business. Very polite, prompt., quality work and good knowledge. My heating went out, unexpectedly. Called several people, did not like the tone of their voice. Called another one and got a techy to look at my problems. He misdiagnosed it almost costed $1000. Called Rick, correct diagnosis, and pay half the price. IF you need HVAC help, anytime, call Rick and leave the repairs to him. Truly an honest professional, truly an American class quality. not overcharging. He is good, I know since I have many experiences with contractors. Semper FI. read more

We have a rental in Temecula and my tenant called and said the A/C was out. I didn't know who to call and my sister, who lives in Canyon Lake, told me they hired (Rick) Koch Heating and Air and said she trusts them. So I called and spoke with Rick's wife, Shelly, who told me she heard Temecula had a brown out and to ask our tenants to turn off and on the breakers once.....it worked!!!! Wow, such honest people, and Shelly knew what was going on in the area - I will definitely use them in the future! read more

We've used Koch Heating & Air for at least 12 years. We are absolutely thrilled with Rick's work. He is ethical, professional, tells us how we can save money, has helped friends of ours fix a problem over the phone, etc. He's the BEST. If it's an "emergency" (the air goes out and it's 105 degrees outside) Rick does everything in his power to get your system up and running quickly. And you won't find a nicer person to deal with than his wife, Shelly. We can't say enough good things about both of them! UPDATE: Since I posted this review, we actually had a serious air conditioning emergency. It was during the heat wave we recently had (it was about 112 degrees here). We had a house full of relatives and, of course, our system DIED. There was no saving it (it was about 15 years old). Rick pulled all kinds of strings to get us a new system and install it within two business days. We have a complicated system and this was not an easy job. I'm not saying he and Shelly can always work miracles, but they really make an effort. read more

We just bought a home in Temecula and wanted our Air and Heating system checked out [in more detail than a home inspection]. Koch was recommended. Rick, the owner, took his time and went through the entire air/heating system. Rick reviewed the results with us..basically everything was ok but stated in the future we may wish to do a few system improvements. We were very happy with Rick..he was professional and sincere. Price was very fair...we highly recommend this Company. read more

We used them a couple of years ago when our a/c went out in the middle of a heat wave. Rick was VERY knowledgable and VERY easy to work with. We have used Rick Koch on a previous R&R of an in attic heating system in 2011. The service and results on that job were outstanding on all points. This summer, we needed a response to a building inspector's report. Rick Koch arrived on time as planned, was familiar with the type of the HVAC unit in the house, inspected it, made needed repairs, recharged and sealed the unit all in a matter of a few hours. Our 15 yr old unit now performs as new. Thank you Rick & Shelley! read more

Not very friendly. There are a lot of heating/air cond companies in this town and I'd recommend going elsewhere.
