I think a lot of people caught on without Yelp raving about it. This place served a mixture of Japanese and Korean dishes by Koreans. I got the poke bowl and it is so good and so fresh! I saw how it was made and yes, they don't put all their ingredients on their counter. They cut it one at a time, so it will be fresh when you get it. Nonethless, this little hidden place is a hit in the neighborhood. They caught on before the Yelp community.

3.5 I liked this…read morespot but at the same time I was very sad when my Taiyaki fell apart on me. When living in Montreal this was one of the first places I visited and I was happy to because the service was nice, the ambience of the place was cool, and the food was pretty good. I'm a huge fan of poke bowls, so this place was perfect. Situated in the village is KAMEHAMEHA...cute name and lots of options here. It does get busy and they don't accept reservations so just be wary of that. For the life of me the French name of the poke bowl I had escapes me, but it had torched salmon (sort of torched at the top but not that Smokey of a torched flavour) and you could customize the toppings. The ingredients were fresh and tasted pretty good. It looked quite nice too. For dessert I wanted to try Taiyaki because it's hard to find good ice cream Taiyaki. The flavours of the ice cream change all the time to reflect the seasons (I think they had peach recently). The size is generous but that's good because the price is steep (around $10). It was tasty but the waffle was sort of flimsy for the amount of ice cream and kind of broke on me. I had custard on shoes by the time I finished, but alas it's nothing some water can't fix. I went back a few times when I was in Montreal and I'd go again!

The Short Version: Little kiosk in the McGill Metro station…read moreselling Korean food. It's incredibly popular but I thought it was just ok. The Long Version: I have a soft spot in my heart for businesses inside bus and subway stations because all though highschool when my main mode of transportation was public transit (and walking) that's where I'd get most of my snacks, on the way to and from school and other places, lol. Lee N Kim (that's actually how they spell their business as opposed to the Yelp listing which has it as Lee & Kim) is inside the McGill Metro station. It's on the external side, so you don't have to pay a fare to access it. They are only open weekdays and only until 5pm, and always seem to be busy. They frequently have line ups and have raving reviews on many different platforms so I really wanted to try them out. I initially wanted to get the triangle kimbap and asked them if they could make me one without sesame seeds. They said unfortunately they could not because they already mixed the rice for the kimbap and the sesame seeds are in the rice now. However, I could get the bibimbap and they could make me that without sesame seeds. I had just wanted a snack, but I did want to see what the Lee N Kim hype was all about so I agreed to a bibimbap (yeah, I know, twist my rubber arm, lol). I got the fried chicken one ($12.95) because I love Korean fried chicken. The fried chicken is cut up chicken nuggets!! I had the saddest face when I realized this :( It was processed chicken meat. I was so disappointed. And the nuggets weren't even crispy. The other ingredients were fine though. They use purple rice and it was quite tasty. The bowl had lots of other ingredients: edamame, kale, cabbage, carrots, oshinko, and zucchini. I got the "spicy Korean sauce" (gochujang) on the side. Had the chicken been real Korean fried chicken made of real chicken meat and not processed chicken meat, it would have been a respectable meal. The staff were really nice and they even gave me a reusable tote bag for my takeout. And I love supporting small independent businesses, so it pains me to give them a less than stellar review, but I need to give my honest opinion and the chicken nuggets really put me off :( Everyone else seemed to be ordering the triangle kimbap and not the fried chicken ones, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Takeout only. Literally a kiosk in the subway station, that's the ambiance, lol. Review #202 (2025)

I thought the poke bowl would be the usual but was very surprised at how delicious the sauce was! It's a mix of teriyaki and spicy mayo and it's just divine. I especially loves the mango and takuan bits in the bowl. The fish in the sushi rolls were really fresh as was the rice. We loved the sauces that went with the different rolls. It's a little bit more expensive than the average poke/sushi place but it's worth it. I enjoyed the ambiance although there was a lingering smell of cleaning products. But I would definitely come back and eat the same thing again.
