Ko Sushi is a win every time. I used to go here way more often pre-covid when I worked Uptown. I've definitely missed it. It's the tiniest little sushi spot, but everything I've had here has always been really freshly made and delicious! I decided to place a pickup for lunch. This trip I had the caterpillar roll and fireworks roll. Sooooooooooooo good! And for these rolls to be "to go" they were still so beautifully made. Picking up is tricky because it's inside KO is located inside of a building Uptown right off a busy street. So, unless I missed something, there's no true pick up area. I parked out front on the street and quickly ran inside. My food only took about 5 mins to come out and I was back in my car fairly fast. I love their sushi, so I don't mind the pick up hassle at all. They also have really good udon soup. Great sushi spot! read more

Searching for sushi in Charlotte and came across this spot. Small location, no parking on the street but noticed patrons were double parking in front to get their takeout orders. Two small areas to eat at inside, both at the windows on either side of the door and two chairs per section. Must scan the QR code at the cash register to see the menu, but they also have the menu up on the wall behind the cash register. They offer appetizers, soups, salads, sashimi, Maki rolls, special rolls, drinks, and sides. Extra sides of sauces come with an additional fee. Prices are reasonable for sushi, based on my experience of living in NYC with NYC sushi prices anyway. Ordered the house and mini house salad, steamed shrimp shumai, chubby roll, and perfect match roll. All to go. Waited about 15 minutes and they had a decent flow of customers coming in and out while we waited. They put their food in Styrofoam, which I haven't seen in a while as NY doesn't really use Styrofoam anymore. But they were willing to put the food in plastic instead, which was great. The guy at the counter taking orders was pleasant and friendly as well. Food itself was tasty and fresh. Lost one star because the house salad had a small fruit fly in it when we pulled the food out of the bag. Sushi was delicious. They gave forks, chopsticks, napkins and soy sauce packs in the bag. Excellent sushi!! The very best I've had in Charlotte. I tried the Spicy Tina roll, the steamed shrimp shumai and a spicy tuna roll and loved all of it. I travel to Charlotte several times a year for business and this will be in my regular rotation going forward. read more

Glad to see KO sushi survived Covid! This is a great spot for quick to go sushi Uptown. It's near Jimmy John's and is across the street from the Kimpton. They don't really have indoor seating besides a couple chairs by the window as they primarily serve to go orders. You can order online and pick up or have it delivered through Grub Hub. I initially ordered the Alaskan Roll and V3 roll with brown rice and paid online but then a minute later I was sent a notification that brown rice was unavailable and was promptly refunded. I actually appreciated that as I feel like most places wouldn't have done that. The two rolls I got were solid - the Alaskan roll comes with smoked salmon so it a little saltier than raw salmon but was still good. V3 is your standard V3 too. Is this the best sushi I've ever had in my life? No, but it's probably the cheapest sushi you can get in uptown Charlotte that still tastes good. Most of their maki rolls are ~$5 with their specialty rolls coming in around ~$10. I've gotten some of their hot items now and again but keep on coming back to the sushi here as my favorite item. My favorite items on the menu include the classic spicy tuna/ salmon maki roles, the Tiger roll, and the side salad (which is larger than the side salad you'd get at a normal sushi restaurant). I'd recommend ordering online and picking up since there isn't seating in the restaurant to dine-in. I've gotten takeout from here a number of times and haven't been disappointed yet! read more

They have a variety of options to choose from...sushi, nigiri, etc. and it always tastes fresh. It's really more of a pickup/takeout spot. Only 1-2 window seats available and pretty small inside. But very convenient location. There is a parking garage next to the building or find street parking and walk over, if you drive in for it. If already Uptown, just walk or scooter over. Place your order online through Yelp/Grubhub and it's ready fairly quickly. Doesn't take too long to do a walk-in order either. Definitely recommend trying it out for yourself! read more

Best bang for your buck can be found here! My boyfriend and I both ordered ahead on grub hub and got the Charlotte combo which comes w 4 piece Nigiri and 8 piece regular roll. I got the spicy tuna which was delicious and the meat was really good quality which is nice because I was skeptical it would be minced and mixed. He got the spicy salmon roll which was in fact minced but still good. The Nigiri was the best part because of its freshness and good quality thick cuts of meat. My only complaints are the lack of rice with the nigiri and the minced salmon but other than that we will definitely go back! Good lord it's so hard to find parking. Literally not worth it if you do not live within walking distance. This is a valuable hidden spot in uptown Charlotte. I've passed by this place so many time I've lost count but never had stopped by until now. I was very happy with my meal. The caterpillar roll didn't have too much rice, which I loved. Most places make their rolls about 2/3 rice and it looks big but it's mostly rice. Yours was just right! Sushi!! Look, let me start off and say how much I love sushi. 1-2 years ago, I wouldn't even touch it. I was missing out for sure. I'm always down to try sushi anywhere (okay, maybe not the gas station sushi). I also work uptown and there are several places near my job that have sushi, even closer than KO. I decided to take a stroll to KO and pass by my normal sushi place to see how they were, since there always seems to be a line. I placed my order online in advance and I still ended up waiting in line to check in and pay. I have also ordered in person to compare the wait time difference and the online ordering does seem to be slightly faster, but not deal breaking fast. I always seem to go for the fried seafood in my rolls and I went with the Tempura roll. Unlike most tempura rolls that just have Shrimp tempura and some veggies, they have shrimp, crab, spicy mayo and masago. No veggies! Which, let me tell you, is awesome for me. I don't really like avocado and a lot of sushi has it, but I normally just deal with it. The sushi is some of the best that I've had and I'm kicking myself for not coming sooner. I also tried the Shrimp Shumai appetizer. The ones I've had at other places uptown very always fried. These were not. However, these were so good. The best I've had so far. Whatever the special sauce is, it's amazing and special to my heart. The price. Being in uptown you always expect prices to be higher and KO is not only inexpensive, but they are the cheapest I've had in the city. I've picked up some orders for my boss as well and he said it's also some of the best he's had and he came from San Francisco where I've heard they have amazing sushi. If you are in the area or just want some good sushi, do yourself a flavor and go there ASAP! The lunch rush is around 12-1, so avoid that time, but if you are on a lunch break, the wait isn't terrible like most places. read more

I don't know if they try to save money by waiting until the person to show up to make the rolls but they don't seem very busy. Customer service here is not good. There's no one there to greet you. No bell or anything to ring. So you just stand there waiting for someone. When they do come they don't apologize and aren't very friendly. They said the food would take 10 to 15 minutes- which is no problem. When we came back in 15 minutes, same thing, nobody was there and our food wasn't ready.I think they could really improve their customer service here.Currently they are not offering dine in.
