This is a tiny tiny place and essentially if I eat there, I'll pull the table out of the dining room and put it in front of the restaurant onto the sidewalk to eat outside. I'm not joking either. They are fine with it; that's how small this setup is. You order at the counter and then sit at a table and eat. The wife of the chef husband will bring you your food, fill your tea and the rest is up to you. Otherwise (usually) I'll get sushi to go. For environmental reasons, I bring my own plastic sushi container they gave me from a prior order and hand it to them to fill my next order. Again; they're totally fine with this. The sushi has always been very good; fresh and generous in sizing. AND; it's quite inexpensive compared to others! I got 3 rolls last week; $16.50. Such a deal. So if you go, temper your expectations. They dont have "real" wait service. read more

Arguably the most depressing and insipid "Japanese" Restaurant I've been unfortunate to enter. (Spoiler alert: it's Korean and not Japanese). I ordered the Sashimi Deluxe - which was laughable because had I ordered the "regular Sashimi" I might have saved seven bucks. The regular Sashimi (heaven knows what that contained as my dish was worth around four dollars at the most) could not have been worse than my dish... I ask how is that possible?) Don't go - please. Very low key spot. I used to think it was a Korean grocery. Sushi is high quality with healthy cuts of fish. Love the rolls too. I find at Ko Ko they don't skimp on anything. A well-kept secret in Scarsdale Village. There's good sushi around these parts of Westchester, and after trying everything in this area I have to say that Ko Ko is the best (and, remarkably, the most reasonably priced). You wouldn't know it from the rather drab interior (and the bizarre fact that no one seems to ever eat there -- they must do all of their business through deliveries and takeout), and admittedly the folks running the place are kind of short on customer service (and English), but these people really know what they're doing and they consistently get it right with fresh ingredients and nice proportions. We tried Ko Ko Sushi in Scarsdale for dinner on Mother's Day, and it was perfect. This may become our go-to sushi place! The menu had everything we like. Since it was our first time we thought we'd try the fun stuff: shrimp tempura, shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna rolls, Philly rolls, Boston rolls. Well, everything tasted fresh, with real flavor, you know? The Philly roll has just enough cream cheese to complement the salmon rather than chunks of it that overwhelm the fish at most places. The flavors were amazing - an anecdote to highlight: I put wasabi in my soy sauce (yes, I'm a heathen but I love it that way) and usually I have to put in globs of it to get any taste. This time just a dab was enough to light up each bite. I know wasabi isn't the food but even THAT packed a lot of flavor, and so did their fish. A fun meal was had by all. Sushi fish was not cut right giving big chunks per bite but the texture of the fish was weird. The chicken tempura roll was heavily sauced, and was just a chicken tempura piece wrapped in sushi & rice. I have tried many MANY different sushi places but none of them compare to Koko Sushi. The ingredients in their sushi always taste fresh, unlike many other places where even the seaweed tasted stale. The man and the woman, who prepare the rolls right in front of you, are so sweet and kind. Each box is carefully placed into a plastic bag with chopsticks and napkins without you even asking. I would give between 3 and 4 stars. It is a mom/pup store. This old Korean couple does not have very good command of English and that can be a problem. Since there are only two of them, the service can be extremely SLOW. However, the price good and if you order carry-out in advance, it works well. The rolls are bargain price and they do NOT fall apart. Sometimes if you get rolls from inexpensive places, rolls fall apart, but they did not and we were very happy about that. read more

Sat down for dinner at sushi bar, let the sushi chef know (?owner) we only had 30 min to eat. He proceeded to make a take out order, 10 minutes later he left presumably to deliver it, came back 5 minutes later and took a to go order from another customer standing at the counter, then our salads were served by another employee. He then proceeded to make the take out order for the guy. 25 minutes after we sat down he still had not even started making our food. There was only one other table with customers and they had their food before we sat down. We wound up leaving hungry without eating dinner before we had to be somewhere. If he wasn't going to be able to feed us within 30 min, he should have told us, and that would have been fine. Instead he basically ruined our evening and now I have to choose between foraging in the fridge at home for left overs or going to McDonald's. I would say Ko Ko isn't worth the wait, but I never even tasted their sushi. All I can say is the service SUCKS and I'll never go back! read more
