One of my favorite sushi spots. They are consistent and well priced…read more The staff are quickly and efficient. I don't eat raw sushi, but I get cooked rolls and plenty of appetizers. The food is good! The place is a good size, quiet, and never feels too crowded.

I thought the food here was decent. I came on the weekend to experience the All You Can Eat (AYCE)…read moresushi with the added weekend items. The food was typical of an AYCE however I found the service to be slow and lax in pace. I wish they had more variety but since I came on the weekend I did get offerings that are only offered on the weekends (Yellowtail Tirado 8/10 , Octupus Su 6/10). I tried three of their rolls 1. Crazy Salmon 5/10, 2. Butterfly Roll 6/10, 3. Ocean 4.5/10. Tempura items were typical and fresh overall 7/10, Sashimi was decent with room for improvement 6/10, Gyozas (Pork) 6/10, Beef Satay 5/10, BBQ Squid 4/10, Miso soup 8/10. Overall I would come here again if I'm hungry but it wouldn't be because I'm craving something out of this world, it is an AYCE place with the top items being the Yellowtail Tirado in my opinion and a decent Miso soup. The price is 33.95 on the weekends so if you want to save some cash per person keep that in mind. The environment is typically tables with cushioned areas towards one side of the restaurant, it's dimly lit and a nice place to come alone, as a casual date, or a good outing with a group.

Haiku has a great lunch menu! I usually order my go-to, the lunch sesame chicken, but this time I…read morewanted to switch it up and tried the sesame shrimp with white rice and broccoli. It also comes with soup or salad, and I always choose the salad. The food was fresh and tasty, and the restaurant is clean and pretty spacious inside. Service was okay--my server didn't check in until I was almost finished with my meal--but overall it was still a pleasant experience. If you work nearby and have a lunch hour, this is a great spot to grab a quick bite and even squeeze in a little shopping since Haiku is located in a shopping plaza with LOFT, Chico's, and a sneaker shop. You can easily be in and out in under an hour.

We have been to the other location over on Mamaroneck Rd in White Plains. We love that place so…read morenaturally it will be hard not to compare. For starters this place is smaller and feels a little bit more crowded in on one another. The food however was very good. I think there is a slight language barrier today because I asked for my Crispy Shredded Sechuan beef extra spice but they left out the heat and made it extra crispy. Nothing that some hot sauce didn't cure. But it was excellent. I'll know better next time to make sure that they get my request correctly . This is not an inexpensive meal. One soup, two entrees, two glasses of wine and a beer - just around $120 with tip. Well worth it. I'll be back when I'm not closer to the other location.(more room)

Wow! A new favorite. We are always in the area and have had this place on our list for a while…read more Today we couldn't eat in so we decided to get some takeout and wow! It was amazing. I could only image how great it is when you're sitting in! I got a dragon roll and the chicken ramen 10/10. Fresh, full of flavor left me wanting more. The service was nice, informative and we enjoyed how cute the place was from outside to in! I definitely cannot wait to actually sit in! Thanks for everything 100% recommend.

As many of you know I am cultured. I'm seasoned. In age and in ethnicity. Lightly seasoned? Sure…read more But seasoning nonetheless? Depends who you ask. Oh Desdemona, how unlucky you were. Oh Yelp, how lucky I am. How lucky I always am. How lucky I was to stumble upon Hawaii Japanese Cuisine on the ever industrious Warburton Ave. Saturday Farmers Market. Meredith's Bakery. Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Bread. If you know you know. Anyways. Out in Waikiki I learned to appreciate Poke. I once appreciated Pokemon. What's Politoed up to these days. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly depending on your grasp of history, Poke is actually a Hawaiian dish. Japanese inspired, of course, but that's why the name of this spot is quite unique (although not catchy). Catch of the day. Rack of the day. So how'd I get here? You ask? ASK ME. Fine! I'll answer. Calm down, needy much? I'm an active guy. I participate in activities. Typically solo, I'm riding solo I'm riding solo solooooo. Man, just imagine walking down the city streets with a Walkman in blasting Les Miz. The dream. Anyways. I just got back from the island life and I was craving some fresh fish, at a sizable size with some balance of fruit, veggies, sauce and quantity for a beautiful price. And I just so happened to be running myself into the ground at the track in Irvington. Or was it that low-lying track in Hastings. The bees. The bumblebees. Maybe the hornets. It was Irvington. The bulldogs. Grrrrrr. I just ran myself into the ground. Sprints for about an hour. Bad hammy. Few months later tore the calf while calfmaxxing. Probably related. First muscle injury in a spinning dixie, gotta have muscles to injure them? Not really but that's what I'll tell myself. So I rip the farmers market. Then I rip the soosh spot, ordered online. Walked in, handsomely. Very friendly and respectful and nice staff and have been everytime I've gone since. The weight of the food in hand was ridonk so I was optimistic. I also got a few desserts down the road. Some hardbody that was completely eyeing down my grass-fed grass-finished hog at the track was somehow now across the street drinking a protein smoothie. My aura stinks of grandeur, but I avoid it. I'm taken lady. Did she follow me? Gross. What a joke. Really put things into perspective. I'm a fat slob, a professional self sabotager. But I work hard for this fat and that's what makes me a special boy. Hawaii Japanese Cuisine has the best poke in the area. They never let you down. I never let you down. Benvolio. As your voice of reason, I reason you to give it a go. A humble hero in Hastings.
