Not a great start to our meal at the Knowle Brasserie when we were seated at our table, for me to point out that my boyfriends plate had an ant crawling over it. The waiter took the plate away brushed the plate and returned with the same plate. We placed our orders, starters Chicken Pakora & Fish Tikka, mains a Lamb Curry & Chicken Rogon with roti's. Whilst waiting for our food my boyfriend had to brush another ant from the table. Starters were not very good the Pakora had more of a batter you would expect to see on Fish from a chip shop and the Salmon was dry & bland. We pointed out to the waiter that they have an ant problem when they bought our mains to the table, I felt this was ignored as they just went away and left us to eat our mains, the curries were both really nice. I just couldn't finish it, not because I was full but I did not like the idea having to share it with the ants, by this time they were on my top, crawling on the table next us. My boyfriend called over the waiter pointed out the infestation on the shelf behind us, there was not real apology just said we could sit elsewhere, all I wanted was to pay the bill & get out (Yes I had to pay the whole bill). I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless they could guarantee me they have done something about the ants. read more
