Food was fantastic and the staff were very kind and solicitous. I'd buy their cookbook if they had one!

There's no other place quiet like the Delhi, in Solihull. As an Indian I know what real good Indian…read morefood tastes like and can tell you they have lovely dishes here that will tantalise your taste buds. If you're a meat eater then you'll be glad to know there's a generous amount of meat in every one of their meat dishes. They also have a good selection of vegetarian dishes. I've found the portions just right. So they are not so much that I feel bloated and not so little that I'm still hungry. The food is well priced as most of the dishes cost around £6.00. Whilst customers are waiting to be seated they can watch the television and read the magazines or newspaper. Access to the bar would be nice but this is still a better offer than most Indian restaurants. They also have a take away service and I think the food is also tasty here and good value for money because the portions are decent and it is inexpensive. The staff are friendly and the food is made quickly; I've waited no longer for my food. On a busy night it can be difficult to sit in to eat a take-away but that's only a minor issue that can easily be resolved.

Lashings of red and chrome in the waiting area give the place a trendy, casual feel and magazines, newspapers and a television are all available for waiting customers to enjoy. The restaurant area upstairs is a totally different story, giving off a classy and romantic vibe with its lavishly prepared tables and tinted windows. Most dishes are around £6, making the pricing here quite average for the area and everything inside feels modern and clean. On my most recent visit, the staff were very friendly and I was impressed to see that my takeaway food was ready as soon as I arrived, just 15 minutes or so after placing a telephone order. I'd definitely visit again, perhaps to the restaurant area next time!

Inside, there's a real traditional feel, but with a subtle contemporary touch. Piped Indian music is complimented by red and white table clothes and themed décor, and everything is usually spotlessly clean, so providing you have no trouble with the staff or the food, eating out here tends to be a fairly pleasant experience. Most dishes cost around £6 and a 3 course meal deal is available for £9.95, which includes any starter and any main of the customer's choice, with a side of naan. I've been visiting here with family for years and have rarely had any major problems. The staff are friendly, but can be a little pedantic and like to rush their customers when things get busy, but the food is usually of a high standard and the friendly, laid-back atmosphere here is great. I'd recommend going for a cheese and onion naan; for some reason it seems to have a little more flavour here than elsewhere.

Shades of Raj didn't disappoint :-), the King Prawn madras was made to perfection, credit to the chef. The service was excellent, starter very nice and overall a great experience. Will be going here many more times when out in Solihull for a few pints during these summer nights.
