10/6/14
This was recommended by a colleague who was due to join us, but had to cancel at the last minute.
So me and an ex-colleague decided to still meet up.
Let's start with the positives:
Lovely place inside, and nice table dressings, friendly staff........
I made a reservation by e-mail and it was responded to very quickly.
Before I go on further, my colleague said 1 star, I was going to give 3 stars, but compared with other places that I have given 3 stars, I went for 2 stars.
Now the problems
I thought it was generally overpriced.
First issue. Ordered popadoms, and starting eating and almost immediately the starter arrived which we were going to share. It was a meagre portion. I aid if this was for £9.95, then I am truly disappointed. When I got the bill I realised they had misunderstood, and given us the mix kebab starter, rather than a Tandoori mixed grill we were expecting. Nevertheless, for £4.95 it was still a very small portion.
I dislike the starter coming before I have eaten the more of the popadoms. Never had this encounter before, and I can't believe they could cook the food that quick. It was also very bland.
We had decided upon one chicken dish, and one lamb, both cost £9.95 each.
The chicken dish they recommended it to us, as per a previous review it was the Chicken Naga. This was extremely bland, they even asked us to smell it, but it smell of anything in particular. There was barely any chicken. If I said it was half a breast, then that would suggest too much.
The lamb was tough, and regular slices that you find in supermarket packet. It was served in a shallow round pan, and again had little flavour.
The rice was boiled rice, and we had a plain naan and a keema naan.
No alcohol, Just ST water.
Total Cost £39.60

The colleague who couldn't make the meal knows the place very well, and will pass on my comments. He's wondering if they have a new chef.

As an aside - if the celebrity fraternity do frequent, then I can't quite work out what is wrong with their taste buds. Is it a question that the prices are high so it must be good? read more
