Had the warranty company send an alternate company out to fix Knock out's hazardous work. The tech was amazed that with the poor wiring, that the pump was the only thing that was destroyed. Please don't use knock out if you value your family's safety or your expensive pool equipment. Knock out is a favorite of Home shield as they usually state the issue is non-covered, collect an easy service fee, and head to the next homeowner to collect.

As an update, AHS did send out another Pool company and they found nothing (0) ZERO wrong with my heater. AHS refunded my money that I paid to have someone go out and look over my heater and my heater is now working. I told AHS that they needed to fire Knock Out Pool because they were being dishonest trying to sell product that wasn't needed. They told me they were going to do this. If by chance you have a problem with your swimming pool heater and your Home warranty company wants to send out Knock Out Pool tell them you don't want them because of what happened with my pool equipment. After all this happened Knock Out Pool did contact me and offered to put in a new motor into my pool heater at no charge. I didn't respond to them. read more

Do not use this company for your pool. We are 15 months in and pool is still not complete. The owner is very rude, defensive and difficult to work with. She wanted to call our pool build a remodel and said you do not need a permit for a remodel!!! She does not understand how to work with cities getting permits. Permits took her MONTHS. She is unfamiliar with fencing requirements and told us when the pool was ready for plastering that it could not be plastered without a fence around it. Why didn't she tell us that months ago after the gunite was poured. Yet another 3 month delay because of her lack of knowledge. She is unprofessional and lacks basic city rules and requirements for pool building. read more

They most certainly have earned their 2.5-star rating on Yelp. After 5 trips to my house and $335 dollars in charges it was finally discovered that my sweeper pump was faulty. This pump was covered under my home warranty. After refusing to refund my $335 for the repairs that were not needed to the sweeper pump that I tried to reach out to the owner to find an amicable solution. Ana, at their office, said that they do not give out the owner's name or even the business address. I asked multiple times for a call back from the owner and was not able to get one. Her attitude on her yelp replies is exactly the service level you can expect. The very first time I heard from the owner was via email and ended with: "I will inform you that should you dispute the charges, I will move forward with legal action to recoup my money, as well as passing on the attorney fees to you. I will allow other pool professionals to give their statements based off of the photos and symptoms and I will GUARANTEE that the ending will not be in your favor." Wowsers! All I wanted was to figure out a solution that was fair for all involved. Instead, I was threatened with a lawsuit. I couldn't even get a phone call to discuss the situation. To be honest, if she had just called and said "lets meet halfway" I would have gladly done so. Instead, she sent a nasty email right out of the gate and didn't include a last name, phone number, or address where she can be reached. I then emailed her back repeatedly and never received a reply. read more

Unfortunately, I am being forced to share the negative experience I am encountering with Knock Out Pools on social media because the owner won't call me back to discuss a resolution to the shoddy appearance of the pool deck on my $40K remodel. In July of 2017, I hired KO Pools to remodel my pool and pool deck. I picked some higher-end finishes for my plaster and deck and completely exhausted my budget. Almost as soon as construction began we started encountering problems that ultimately led to a final cost of almost twice my initial budget. I took out a loan and construction kept moving. Everything in relation to the pool itself came out great, but the deck is a completely different story. The stain they put in the stamped concrete wasn't the color that we selected so we were facing our first round of deck repair on our brand new pool deck. After several attempts at repair, the deck was finally close enough to what we paid for. My joy was short-lived. Within a few months, the finish on the deck started bubbling and peeling exposing raw concrete. KO Pools sent a crew out to make repairs. After the 3rd unsuccessful attempt at repairing the deck KO Pools brought in a different contractor. This contractor seemed to be a little better qualified and successfully repaired the troubled spots on our deck. Unfortunately, a few months later we had more spots that were bubbling and peeling as well as having discoloration issues with the previously repaired spots. This is still how my pool deck sits today. While I was out of town for work I was communicating all of these issues to the representative with KO Pools that I had dealt with from day 1. The response from this contact was getting slower and slower and ultimately stopped, at which point I reached out to the main office for resolution. They informed me that my previous contact no longer worked there and they sent a different technician out to look at my pool deck. The technician told me he could clearly see the damaged spots and would have someone from his office give me a call with a proposed solution. And that was the end of communication from KO Pools. I have been repeatedly calling their main office since January and I am always told the owner Christy will call me back. I have yet to receive a call from anyone at Knock Out Pools about this issue. When I called earlier this week I was told by the receptionist that my pool deck was not under warranty and they could send a tech out to give me an estimate on the repairs. I tried to explain that this is not a warranty issue, but an issue that was never correct from the beginning. Fortunately, KO Pools has a great notification system informing the customer of every time a technician or crew is headed to your property to perform work so I have numerous emails to validate the fact that this has been ongoing for years. I am leaving this post hoping they care more about their social media profile than they do their customers, and maybe this will spark some action on their behalf. Follow Knock Out Pools on Instagram and Facebook for my next posts. Sincerely, An abandoned disgruntled customer read more

We entered into a contract w/ Knockout Pools on 4/25/22 after having to terminate our previous pool contractor. We needed trash removed from the yard, installation of fire/water bowls and final plaster. Kristi (owner) put in writing via an email (4/25), "All contractual work will be completed no later than May 28, 2022- With the exception of major weather delays". Note, we had no weather delays. After hearing nothing since signing the contract we began reaching out. We sent text messages on May 6th, 25th, 31st and June 14th, all with NO response. We sent emails May 10th, 12th, June 3rd, 14th & 19th, all with NO response. We received a text May 14th (first contact since signing contract) that they were headed to remove debris from our yard. The bob cat they rented leaked hydraulic fluid all over our neighbors sidewalk, our sidewalk and the street which my husband had to clean up. We continued reaching out (as noted above) after this and NEVER heard back from Kristi personally. We called their 'office' on June 3rd and left a voicemail. We did receive a call back June 8th stating they would be here Thurs, Fri, Mon or Tues. (??? Big range of days) they did not show up any of those days but rather Wednesday and were here 20 mins with no contact with us. We called again on June 20th and left a voicemail asking for a response in 24 hours, and they sent another person out but no work was done. We did connect with the office between these dates and the girl tried to hang up on my husband. She could not help answer any questions and Kristi did not contact us even though we requested her to. We ultimately sent a termination letter June 21 @ 4:06pm and ironically Kristi replied within two hours with "Sure, no problem". We asked for our money to be reimbursed within ten business days (which we felt was fair) and nothing. Sent an email on the 11th day giving her two options and she did wire us our money with paragraphs of how this was not her fault. If you are entertaining this company, BEWARE, they do not deliver according to their contract and their communication is nearly non-existent. The owner is full of excuses/reasons as to why she cannot meet her business obligations. Ironically we had water in our pool Friday June 24th after working with an amazing pool contractor who did what he committed to doing and in three days! All KO pools was able to accomplish in close to two months was clean out standing water in our pool and remove debris in our yard despite the fact they committed to completing our pool 5/28/22. Happy to provide additional specifics to anyone based on our experience. Run, don't walk and take this company's 2 star rating seriously, as we should have. Signed, third times a charm and finally swimming! 7/15/22- The owners response says it all. We were 100% honest with KO pools about our experience & they took the job knowing this. As a contractor it was her responsibility to do due diligence prior to entering into a contract then trying to blame the previous contractor. It's easy to point fingers after the fact. We are in touch with the city & new plumbing contractor (same one KO pools used) and are remediating. Gas lines were ran perfectly and checked recently but no final inspection was done. Ironically KO pools sent someone out weeks past the contractual completion date & only because we made noise. ZERO communication from this company. If they did what they said, in the timeline they agreed to, and communicated, wouldn't have had a problem. Also, tried to hang up meant she said, " I am hanging up now"when my husband was mid-sentence, and he called her out and said, you will not hang up on me. The person answering the phones has no information at all and is just a voice. Like I said her average review of 2 and consistent feedback here says it all. Bottom line, she got bigger jobs, more profitable and put us to the side and did not deliver anything she said she would or what was in the contract. No apology or accountability, just excuses. We never threatened a lawsuit, we purely gave her 2 options, return our money or we would take legal action. It's a contracts case and she did not deliver according to the contract. I find it entertaining that Kristi responds promptly to all of her negative reviews on here but fails to reply to her customers in text/email/phone. This says A LOT! Signed, still swimming everyday without the help of KO pools! read more

Possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They sent out their technician 5 times to service the pool on my property. There was a pump, filter and leaking DE issue. Paid for 3 visits through my home warranty and then 2 invoices for additional, not covered problems. Over 700.00 later issue is not repaired and they are blaming the owners for "lack of proper maintenance" this is on a pool that hasn't functioned this year. The last visit the tech told me one price and then the office charged me over 100.00 more . They would not schedule out another service until I paid them for the service that failed. They told me to pay over the phone using a credit card then charged me a fee for using the credit card. They took my money , did not repair the problem, and now wont come back out to repair the damage caused by the tech. Just unbelievable. read more

This is a horrible company. My pools levels are low frequently and I am constantly having to refill the pool with water. A tech came to look at my pool equipment the tech had no equiment, no tools absolutely nothing to detect a leak. The tech was like I can only do a visual inspection. WHAT, this is a pool leak you most have supplies in order to detect a leak...... very unprofessional. After the visual inspection the tech said it looks fine". I was upset. I called another company sink or swim pools and they came and the technician had all the equipment needed to check for leaks. He found the leak immediately. Do not waste your hard earned money with this low level company. Go with a reputable company for any pool issues. read more

CALL ANYONE ELSE!! May 5th 2023 Had Knock Out Pools come out & replace the concrete slab, New variable pump, new filter, whole new system & asked for our light to be fixed. They came out & guy was super unprofessional cussing & saying he was going to just leave if he couldn't figure the Wi-Fi for the motor out. He also told me he wasn't going to fix our pool light bc they didn't know how they would do it. He told me they would follow up with me later. We called & talked to Haley & she said she would talk to her boss & call us back about the pool light. That never happened!!! We called & called & our calls conveniently always went to voicemail which no one returned those messages either. Now our "brand new" concrete slab has a crack in it less than 2 months later. I called July 14th 2023 & talked to Haley once again she said they would call me back same day. That never happened. I have been calling ever since & yet again no one will pick the phone up. This is by far the worst experience from any company we have ever had. Not sure how Knockout Pool expects to make grow their business with service like this. read more

After being a customer for more than 15 years , so very disappointed in this company, Following the horrible freeze in March called upon this trusted company to replace my pump and filter . quoted $4200 and requested cash up front PRIOR to installation. This was paid-ha!! Lesson learned. Pump and filter is oversized for pool- was told I was upgraded!! Then , after the install was advised the visible cracks in the valves were not noticed until AFTER the install. SURPRISE!! Now will need another $1000. To complete the job oh and another $450 cash deposit. Oh and if we need to lower the pool water below the return valves we will have to use a sump pump and we charge $250 dollars to use the sump pump-this will be in addition to the 1 K. Calls to owner Kristi were responded to by text and email- will never do business with this company again and would highly recommend you seek another pool company read more

If I could give them a ZERO I would. BEWARE this company! I had an AHS service call for our filter which had stopped working. The tech that came out wasn't very pleasant but as long as you do good work I can put up with that. They do not do good work. The filter cartridges needed to be replaced- there are 8 total. He said he would replace them and did not. I did not know that - guess we have to check tech's work now too? I found out a month later when the issue got worse and we had huge amounts of DE blowing back into our pool that the Knock Out Pools tech only replaced 4 of the 8, and those other 4 had huge holes and tears in them, also the stand pipe and O ring were broken and also didn't get fixed. Sadly, I'm not a pool expert so I have to trust the people who come out to be the expert. I called outside the 30 days so they said they would not come back out. I had another company come out and that's how we discovered the fraudulent work from before. I've reported them to AHS and will never allow them back on my property again. Warning to anyone, this company has low ratings for a reason. In the past two years I have been extending extra grace and patience with service companies as I recognize the build up of work and supply chain issues, but this isn't about COVID, supply chain issues, or any of that. This is about ethics, competency, and professionalism. Ana who answers their phones was the final straw, when I called to explain what happened and how the original work was not completed as promised she was incredibly rude and careless. I explained that we had pictures showing what wasn't done and she responded with "we have pictures too, your pool was green. Maybe you should take better care of your pool, you clearly don't." Unbelievable!! Of course our pool was green, it's 110 degrees and our filter isn't working!! What the heck? When I responded with wanting to speak with owner she made up excuses and hung up on me. When I called back she cursed at me. Seriously the list is endless for you should never use this company. The only knock out with this company is the knock out to your wallet and trust. Don't just take my word for it, read all the other reviews. I wish I had before allowing AHS to send them to my house. They made an existing pool problem worse. read more

We only used Knock Out pools because we were assigned to them via our home warranty (One Guard). This is the worst experience we have had with a pool company (we have dealt with three different companies in total for various projects). I can honestly say that I would pay out of pocket instead of using my home warranty if it came down to using Knock Out again. We were treated so disrespectfully by the guy who came out. We had a pump that was running so loud that we could hear the high screech 100 yards away. We could hear it in the house over each other talking and at night trying to sleep (at the other end of the house). We were told by Knock Out that it was just a noise and we should wait until the pump failed altogether before they would fix it. The guy was rude and condescending to us. We of course had to pay the service fee for the 10 min visit and no repair. They of course were paid by the warranty folks for that visit. I wondered why this all happened as the pump clearly needed to be repair (it was a bearing that was burned out causing the noise). I felt like the guy was just behind schedule and wanted to mark us off the list (since was was late to our house) but I found out later that the way the home warranty works is they assign cases to the contractors that have a high deny rate. So, since we had a smaller job, I assume we got to be one of the deny cases to keep the deny rating higher so they get assigned more and larger cases. After, I left a negative review, the manager called to say they would come back that day to replace the pump. I declined. We had a different pool company come out that was professional, courteous, and said "yes, clearly the bearing is causing the noise and needs to be replaced". Avoid Knock Out Pools. read more

This company is a scam. they make poor quality repairs to charge you again for repairs. The pump leak i asked them to repair (through a warranty service) was done so poorly that the pipe connecting to the filter pump burst open and leaked all over my backyard. Almost lost 20,000 gallons of water. I had to call another service to fix their issue and they were shocked at how badly the pipes were fitted and had to spend a day fixing their mess Then the actual pool pump leak repair their tech performed fell apart and now the pump is leaking water again less than 3 months later. Now they want to charge me $95 to repair something they should have fixed. Finally my wife caught their disgusting tech urinating on our property when he could have easily knocked on the door to use our facilities. we are shocked and disgusted by their behavior I really regret having ever used them and am complaining to the Warranty Service as well read more

Pool pump started leaking from the bottom after a DE filter service. Pump runs fine, but I suspected a seal may have failed. We have AHS. Set up the appointment online on Saturday. Read some of these reviews and thought about cancelling. Stayed with it and glad I did. They kept me in the loop with text and e-mail updates. Got a call from KO home office on Monday to confirm the concern and the appointment for Tuesday. Got another text with the arrival window of 10-2. Payton the KO Tech arrived at 9:50am. Very polite and prepared to go to work. Even declined to walk through the house to the back when I offered. 30 minutes later he was done and went through the work order with me. The leak was no more and he confirmed the issue was a bad seal. He did take 30 seconds as I was writing the check for the service call fee to let me know about other services and to call if we needed anything. No hard sales pitch and then he was on his way. In short... on time, over communicated and professional. Admittedly, I did not have a situation were I thought I needed to file a claim with AHS which was not supported by KO, but based on my experience I couldn't ask for more. read more

Hired them to change filter and empty and clean out the pool. One of their employee sat on the end of the diving board and it broke. Which i agreed that if the diving board was bad i had no problem them fixing it at my cost. They insisted they would buy me a new board but not replace it. To dangerous for them to replace they said. So it's been about 2 months since they said they would purchase the board and still no board so i can not have someone else replace it. If you call the place of business all you get is the secretary and maybe someone will text you if your lucky. After they cleaned the pool and changed the filter the pool was covered in algae 3 days later. So i ended up paying over 1100 for a algae pool with no diving board. Ask to talk to the owner and she never calls back. I highly recommend that you don't use this company. Sorry very highly recommend going with someone else. AHS recommended them. AHS doesn't really care as you all know. read more

A company that doesn't finish the job, and the lady that takes care of the phone calls is just plain rude. Terrible!!! DO NOT USE! This place only wants your money. I had a warranty item occur with American Home Shield. That was not the problem. Before I had them come to my house. I requested to speak to a technician to ensure that the problem was covered. The very rude female representative, told me that I could not speak to one. And that I had to have them come out to let me know if it was a covered item... Yep you guessed it, I would have to pay the deductible either way. This tells me they are only in it for the money. RUN... RUN... RUN. Oh, and by the way when I told the lady I really would like to speak to a technician or they were not coming to my house she just hung up on me. Well that's great customer service! I have no relation to knock out pools or have ever heard of them before yesterday. I read the reviews and I was quite concerned and that is why I am writing this. I'm just a dude with a water leak at his pump. I do have AHS and they dispatched a ticket to KO Pools. Very fast callback after I had called AHS. We scheduled next day visit and they confirmed the time later that day. He was prompt. He (I got his card, but I forgot his name) was very friendly, and informative. I hadn't taken care of my filters as I should have and I knew it. He kindly reinforced how important it was to maintain the pool/filters/backflush etc and he told me in a way that wasn't condescending. 5 stars because he fixed was was leaking and changed a part that would probably leak soon. He was extremely helpful and courteous. "He" had tats and a beard. The card is at home. I'll update this post if I ever think about it. read more

They contract through our home warranty company. My pool pump finally died after 11 years. This is the company AHS sent to replace it. Pay our $75 service fee. Day of installation they install a pump that looks like it fell off the back of a truck. Worked for about 1 hour and seized up. They come out a second time and replace a part on it. It then worked for 63 days and seized up again. Learn that the warranty period is 60 days. Now I have to pay for another pump. Tried to call Knock Out Pools anyway to see if they would stand behind their work. Left messages for 2 days. No callbacks. read more

Our pool pump starting making loud noises last week and then finally wouldn't start two days ago. We submitted a repair request through our home warranty (American Home Shield), and Knock Out Pools was assigned to us that night. Admittedly, I was a bit concerned after reading other reviews here on Yelp and on Google. The following morning, Knock Out called me at 8 am. I couldn't take the call at the time, and called them back at 9 am. They immediately answered and stated that a technician would be out between 10 am and 2 pm. The technician, Peyton, showed up at 11 am. He was very friendly. He quickly diagnosed the problem (motor had gone out), had a replacement motor in his truck, and replaced the motor in about 30 minutes. Everything checked out - pump started right up, low noise, no leaks, motor working well, etc. He explained the warranty to me and assured me the replacement motor had the same specifications and manufacturer as the original motor. read more

AHS sent Knockout Pools to our home. While they were still there my husband called AHS to request they send someone else. The person was rude and before even looking at the pump he was telling my husband AHS would not cover the repair. However, he did make it a point to call a couple of hours later to tell my husband Knockout Pools would do the repairs for $724 ! AHS did send someone else out and they not only repaired our pump but did it in a fast, friendly, professional manner. My husband asked AHS to NEVER send Knockout Pools to us again. read more

I was assigned this company by AHS. The technician was rude and condescending to me and only did a cursory inspection. He didn't even look for any real issues. He checked the gas flow by unscrewing a plug (while the gas was still turned on!) Said the gas flow was to low and it was all on me to replace my gas line because it was to small a diameter. He treated me like I was an idiot. This all happened after I had two other very professional companies check the problem on my dime. They BOTH said the heater would be more expensive to fix than replace, providing they could even get parts. I would not use this company, nor would I recommend them. read more

Similar review as the others who had the misfortune of their home warranty bringing in these guys. If your home warranty mentions Knock Out, stop them right there and tell them you want someone else. My pool pump started to have a high pitched screech a couple of weeks ago and it has worsened over time. It is to the point that I can hear it in the room furthest from the pump and the neighbors in all directions can too. A reputable pool professional with decades of experience and excellent reviews on all web based review sites came out Friday and stated that there is obviously a bad bearing in the pump. The condition of the bearing would become worse until it further broke probably causing more damage to the pump. He recommended contacting my home warranty and verify that they would cover replacing a bearing. I did and they said they would have someone available this morning. The pool service man from Knock Out arrived looking a bit disheveled. Certainly, the cause for the haggard look could have been allergies or a head full of cold medicine, but for this consumer it appeared the guy should be at home sleeping it off. Regardless, I explained the symptoms, we looked at the pump, turned it on, and walked to the far end of the house to demonstrate that the noise was overwhelming even at a distance. We returned to the pump, shut it off so that we could hear each other, and he said that he would have to call the home warranty people to tell them what was going on. He got into his truck, cranked it up, called the home warranty and told them the pump was just noisy, but functional. The fact that he first got into his truck, closed the door and cranked it up gave me a bad feeling. We tried calling his phone which went to voicemail. He called back after speaking to the home warranty people and told us that the noisy pump wasn't covered. We immediately called the home warranty people to file a dispute. They mentioned that they informed the pool guy that if the noise was as high as a 7 out of 10 then they would cover the bearing being replaced. He told them "in that case it's a 6". You literally cannot have a conversation in my kitchen if the pump is on. I believe that the service guy simply did not feel like working and lied to the home warranty to get out of having to do some real work this morning, but he pocketed $70 just for standing around for a few minutes. Here is my advice to Knock Out Pools. Get face to face with your service guys before they go on a job. If you see bleary eyes, hear slurry speech, see dopey expressions, or any other abnormal signs then send them home. Whether they are just fuzzy on allergy medication, haven't slept in days, are feeling the effects of cough syrup, etc they are unable or unwilling to work and are ruining your image. read more

Paid for a service visit through my home warranty company. The hot tub heater is broken. They call me and tell me they will be almost 3 weeks before they can come. Wasn't happy but warranty company had no other options. Guy comes out and he is fine and diagnoses a limiter on the heater is bad. He says it is an easy fix. a full week later the office girl calls and says they will come out to put the part on in another 2 weeks. I tell her that is unsatisfactory to make me wait that much longer and she just keeps on talking like a robot and then hangs up on me when I raised my voice over her constant repeating "do you want us to schedule you for that date" over and over and over. I call back and she starts the same non caring robot chant again. I ask for the owner and she tells me she is not available. She won't give me her contact info...only her first name. She says she will give her a message to call me. Doubt it. I told her she had the customer service skills of a potato. read more

I wish I could give NO stars. This company was assigned to us through our Home Warranty. They are fraudulent and liars. This company has been rude to my wife and myself on more than one occasion. They ordered parts that were never installed and charged the warranty service! They came today because the pump wasn't running. Tech stated to AHS that the damage was due to pests, specifically ants, and thus AHS denied coverage. Tech then stated to me that the motor was bad due to the same ants and thus all would need to be replaced. I just went and removed the cover on the capacitor and found NO ANTS or PESTS. Tech had stated to AHS that there were dead ants on the wires!!! I then bypassed the capacitor and the motor runs perfectly fine. The capacitor is the issue. These guys are flat out frauds. I am disputing the claim with AHS, and I am going to write negative reviews wherever I can find the opportunity because others should be warned!!! read more

We had a great service experience with Knockout and technician Ryan - like others it was a service call for a leaking pool pump under a One Guard claim, so expectations were the waiting time plus song and dance normally associated with a home warranty claim. Not the case, service call was timely (within 12 hours of filing claim and on July 4th to boot), technician was professional, competent and had everything needed for the repair, including parts. Up and running within an hour of his arrival. I would use these guys whether a home warranty claim or not. Well done Knockout and Ryan. read more

I have never used a home warranty before, I actually forgot I had it. When my pool pump housing split in half and would not allow my system to run spraying all the water out I looked at fixing it myself, but a buddy told me to call AHS (my home warranty company who did a great job) and have my warranty company take a look. Like another reviewer stated, I searched for the reviews after I was informed of who was going to come out and was not pleased by what I saw here on yelp. Being in an industry myself where I know about how online reviews work (largest engine builder in the US) and deal with them daily, the type of people who tend to leave reviews are (mostly angry people who's claims are denied whether its their fault, a previous technicians or just dumb luck and or people with no knowledge of said product who could swear its right with no experience in the field who just want it fixed at anyone's expense but their own) I had to come on here and leave my experience. Its typically the good work that people do not leave reviews for, which is sad so I always leave reviews when I can. My claim was for my Propane Pool Heater and Pool plumbing/pump. KO pools was very responsive in regards to setting up the appointment and even giving me a call when they were on the way so I can leave work and meet them. Bart with Knock Out Pools showed up on time and was very polite. He looked at my equipment and we discussed the issues with the heater and the leak. He stated there were a few things with the heater that did not look up to code and I agreed as they said this when I bought the house. He also said the leak was not issued under the correct part on the request and he could only work on the parts listed. He than went to make a phone call and was able to get AHS to change it so that he could repair the pump/leaks and not charge me another $75 and a few days down time. He had the proper parts with him and did a great job on the repair. He also made a few changes and added a better valve than what I had which was junk and looks better and will perform better. He also gave me a few tips on how to get my water back to normal, after 2 weeks it was green and black algae started to appear! The heater did not have the proper regulators, propane hose and a marginal at best propane tank with not enough propane in it to test. Due to this, I was very understanding why they couldn't work on it, but they did leave the request open so I can fix the small issues and they can come back out without charging me. All and all in what I thought was going to be a bad experience turned out to be a very good one by Knockout Pools (Bart) and my home insurance company (AHS). Thank you all very much for the help, I would not hesitate to use y'all again. Like we say in my industry, no news is good news. Only a handful of bad reviews on here, but im sure they have done hundreds of jobs with happy customers. Im glad to say they did a great job for me. Thanks Bart/Knock Out Pools. Brandon S. read more

This pool company is the best pool company there is, I will definitely be recommending them to everyone I know. The technician that came out was named Jason and he was amazing, I could tell right away how knowledge he was about pools which made me feel good about him working on my pool. Not to mention he was right on time! When I was getting ready to write my review I read some of the others and it's very sad to me that some of these other people don't realize that they have no control over what things the warranty companies will cover. So I hope that future customers will read my review cause my experience with Knock Out Pools has been nothing but the best, and I've had my share of other companies. I can say now though that I have found my favorite and won't be switching. Thank you all at Knock Out Pools for everything that you do! read more

STAY AWAY from this company. The man came out to do repair work on my filter. When he switched a valve, he broke a plastic piece that he told me would cost $250 to replace. As I was recording his instructions on how to work the new filter, he also stated how he could change the wording on the paperwork to have this damage covered on the same claim. HE BROKE THE PIECE! When we called Ana(who is her own complaint), she said we would have to pay for the damage to be repaired. Again, THEY BROKE IT. I have a clear voice recording of the whole conversation. When asked to speak to the company owner, Ana would not even tell us who the owner is. STAY AWAY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED read more

STAY FAR AWAY from this company - if you are using a home warranty and it's assigned to them, REQUEST that you be assigned another pool company. Knock Out Pools has very poor leadership - I have called the Owner many times over the 2wks with no return call or courtesy reply to address the concerns of the customer. The first technician was very rude to the point I had to request that he leave my property. The second technician was assigned and claimed to have replaced the old pump with a "New" pump. Thankfully, I had an inspection performed afterwards which indicated that the "NEW" pump was a rebuilt pump from 2014 and was emitting a loud gear grinding noise. I had to call in a second opinion with AHS - they dispatched a new pool company that did a stellar job coming behind Knock Out Pool and fixing their "MESS". Also had a separate work order assigned to Knock Out Pool for the pool heater. It too was a complete "SHAM" of a job. The technician attempted to sell me parts out of pocket. I refused his upsell and they resorted to calling in a "FAKE" diagnosis to AHS so the repair would not be covered and I would have to pay out of pocket. I again had to call in a second opinion with AHS. The shenanigans are ongoing due to Knock Out Pools. STAY AWAY! read more

After reading the reviews here I was concerned about having them come out, however I am glad I didn't. I as well as other on this post had the service through AHS, Glenn took the time to explain everything that was covered under the AHS warranty and those they would not cover. After looking over our equipment and my concerns (booster pump) they determined the pump was bad. They replaced the pump, did a quality check and noticed a hose was leaking and replaced that was well. They even took the time to replace a plastic guard on my timer to keep me from shocking myself (which I have done on numerous occasions). Having had to deal with AHS in the past, I would put more blame on AHS then on Knock Out Pools. AHS is the one not approving the repairs not KOP. read more

Terrible service! When they came out to fix or replace the motor they didn't replace the seal so my motor is leaking. I called back to ask for them to come back out and replace the seals. She told me she wouldn't do anything because the work order was completed. I said surely there must be at least some window for the replacement. She said she wouldn't be able to help me then hung up on me. I called back asking to speak with her manager and she informed me she is the manager (Anna). I asked how long my warranty was good for and she told me 30 days but that she wouldn't come back out without paying $95 for them to return. Then hung up on me again. Don't deal with these guys unless you want a headache. read more

We had been in our house for 3 weeks when the pool pump stopped working. AHS sent Knockout, who scheduled the work for 2 days later. Payton, the technician, was professional, fast and efficient. He even took time to explain the basics of pumps and filters to me. Troubleshot the pump and replaced the motor in maybe 1.5 hours. Thanks Payton! read more

Update- I was given Knockout pools through American home shield. My motor stopped working. I made the call on a monday and they could not come out till that friday. When they came out the technician was rude and told me the reason my motor stopped working was because of a severe algae problem. I told him we have a regular pool cleaning company and the filter was just cleaned 2 weeks prior. The pool was crystal clear on the Monday it broke and now it had been 5 days since the pool had worked so there was a little algae in the corners. I took a picture for reference. I explained to him the algae is there because it's not working. He said no way. Well I talked to several pool companies and algae won't cause a motor to stop working. I asked american home shield to have a 2nd opinion company to come out. That company was cowtown pools. They came out the next business day, and 2 days later it's fixed and covered by AHS.They said there is no way Algae caused that to happen. From my understanding Knock Out pools used to be We fix ugly pools and if you have seen the reviews you know why they changed their name. They are rude and make any excuses to deny home warranty claims. They were hoping I would just pay them the $900 but I made sure to get the 2nd opinion! Beware when using this company. From now on when AHS sends me out a company I will look at the reviews because I see plenty of other people on her with the same problem! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Kristi T.
Kristi, owner of Knock Out Pools, has been in the pool industry since 1998. Originally she started out answering a phone call here and there for her father, with no intentions of working, as she wanted to be a stay at home mom. One thing led to another and she went full time, being able to bring her child with her, and growing the business with her father and retiring him out of the business in 2005. She has 3 children that keep her busy outside of work, with activities such as softball and showing steer. Kristi believes that word of mouth is the best form of advertising, therefore customer service is her priority. She lives her life based on morals, values, honesty and integrity and runs the business in the same fashion. The pool business is one that she loves to be in because each day is a new challenge, not only with pool equipment and construction, but with some customers as well!

First off, if you are assigned this company by American Home Shield, call them back and request another company immediately. This company is bad news. This company came out to service a leaking pool pump. They diagnosed the problem as a failed gasket and "repaired it." They alleged that chlorine levels were too high. I have my pool tested and balanced every week but I accepted what they said and informed my pool company of the issue. The following week, my pool company noted that the pump was still leaking. I called Knock Out Pools again to fix the problem they were supposed to have fixed a week earlier. Their technician came out and said the gasket had failed because of high chlorine levels and that they were not responsible. He was very rude and abrupt. Immediately after he left I tested the pool chemicals levels myself and found the chlorine to be at 3.0 PPM, the upper end of the ideal range for a pool. I believe this technician falsified his chemical readings in an attempt to get me to have to pay an additional $175 for a new repair. Further, I believe he is blaming the poorly repaired gasket on the "chemical levels" rather than taking responsibility for his own poor workmanship. His supervisor was equally unhelpful and dismissive. read more

Knock Out pools got me out of a bad situation. My pool motor burnt up on a Thursday night. Freezing temps were in the forecast for Saturday so I really needed to get the motor replaced before then. I called everyone I knew to call and no one could get out to replace the motor until at least Tuesday (after the freeze). I got in touch with Knock Out Pools and they were at my house within the hour. They installed the motor and got things up and running, as well as showed me how to drain the equipment if I ever found myself in a similar situation in the future. Unfortunately, we had a power outage in the neighborhood that night which caused the pool motor to be off for several hours during freezing temps. Because I had just learned how to drain the equipment I was able to do so and save my pipes from freezing. When I went to start the pool back up the next day I couldn't get the pump to prime and I didn't know why. I called Knock Out pools and they came out the next day, free of charge, to prime my pump and get my pool running again. read more

I was having a water circulation problem for months, doing all the standard care remedies. I was afraid the lines might be stopped up or a pump might need to be fixed or replaced...or a gummed up filter, although I had been having it serviced on a regular basis. As it turned out, Miles diagnosed it as an especially gummed up filter. It was cleaned up (said it didn't need replacing) and the old pool is now circulating like a teenager, again. Honesty and trustworthiness is all you want with any service company, and this company came through with flying colors. read more

Thank you Jason at Knock Out Pools for getting our pool back working again. What great Service!! I didn't have to wait on the part he just fixed it right away!! I even got a text letting me know of the appointment time & another text letting me know when he was on his way. I really liked that they showed on the text a map showing where he was coming from, how long it would take him to get here & his picture & name so I would know who would be coming. If I ever need any repairs I know who to call!!! read more

I am very concerned when I read reviews, especially when a lot are about how home shield sends out the worst companies. So I am even surprising myself that I am writing this. My tech (Jason) was outstanding! He came out, fixed the issue that I was having with my pool pump, and explained step by step the reasons why it was broke and what I could do to make sure that it didn't happen again and the steps to fix it myself if it did. Best experience I have had with a service call! read more

American Homeshield (my home owner insurance) sent Knockout pools to address my issue with the pool pump. They (Chris) arrived promptly and quickly determined that the pump needed to be replaced. Two working days later, they (Bart) returned with the new pump and quickly had it installed and running perfectly. Very happy with their service and professionalism. Strongly recommend read more

Very professional Home Warranty repair. I had a burned out motor on my primary pump and they replaced the motor. Estimated 5 to 7 days for the motor - had it replaced in 2 days. Found a faulty relay when pump was replaced and had me operate it manually until they got Home Warranty approval to replace relay(s) and came back two days later and fixed it. read more

Knock Out Pools is the company our home warranty company uses. They are prompt and courteous. Ryan is the tech that has come out the last couple of times and he's been courteous, professional, straight forward. I cannot speak for their non-warranty company work but I would give them a call if there was an uncovered repair. read more
