What a horrible experience. I returned to visit Peterborough in May 2012 (I went to Trent years…read moreago) and decided to visit Peterborough Square for old times sake. I saw some gnomes at homeology and because my husband collects them I decided to take a closer look. The salesperson saw me coming and came out of the store towards me. I smiled and said hello and she retorted a greeting followed by "how can I help you?" I was surprised but told her I wanted to see the gnomes. She told me that the ones I saw were all they had. Note we were not in the store yet! So I moved forward and she snapped at me, "give me your bags". I was so angry I walked away much to her pleasure. I know from having lived there that Peterborough can be an awfully racist place but I must say I was saddened that after all these years nothing has changed. I just married a white man and he was so angry when I came home and told him he insists we go back this summer and he will have words with them. I find the whole thing humiliating and it has taken me a lot of time to gather my thoughts and post this review. Probably they don't even care, as it's a small store but I was prepared to spend upwards of $300 that day and that's their loss.

The had a beautiful on on sale and I bought it. It had a sliding door front. After a week or so the door warped so bad that it would not open or close at all. The solution was to take a floor model which I was assured they would check over. It came but I think the guys putting it into the elevator damaged it as it has scratches and nicks on it. So they had no more, plus I wouldn't trust a sliding door again. I talked to the GM who assured me they would do everything they could to full fill my needs. He was going to deal with it but then turned it over to staff. Long story short weeks later the damaged one is still sitting here, my precious memories are packed in boxes, and everything they offer is much more expensive. I am really fed up as I have shopped here since moving to town 13 years ago. It is not the type of service I expected. I need to get my things back on display but I got rid of other cabinet to make room for my new one. Please don't buy a sliding front cabinet from them, and I'm not even sure I can say buy from them right now. they seem to have changed their policy about customer satisfaction Lynda Guest

I won't likely be coming back, after a recent incident. I was shopping with my best friend. We were dressed down, particularly for a weekday, because we were off from work. She had shown some interest in some Opal jewelry and asked a sales woman if she could open the case. 'It's really expensive," the sales woman warned. "That's okay," my friend responded, "I'm actually a huge fan of opals, so I am well aware of their market price, plus artistry mark-ups." That should have been the end of it: the sales woman warned the customer, and the customer acknowledged it - in this case, by pointing out that she had prior experience with the high price of opals and opal jewelry. The sales woman wouldn't let it go. She kept ragging on her that the price was incredibly high, even after handing her the piece and showing her the price... ... To which my friend told her the price might be high for some people, but for an opal piece that size and especially with the labour and artistry in the setting, the price was only two-thirds what she was expecting. Nope, even after that comment, she continued on about whether my friend could afford it. It's because we're not skinny and dressed down, which we did since we'd be walking and shopping in the summer heat. She just kept insinuating that she couldn't afford it, presumably based on her appearance. Well, appearances are deceiving because my friend is actually a diplomat who makes multiple times that of a sales woman (I assume she's not a manager because a manager would never be that rude), even more if she goes somewhere with hazard pay and watched friends/colleagues get hurt in Afghanistan while she, by mere luck, remained unscathed. She not only could afford it, but she has earned respect for noble reasons; respect clearly was not what she was getting. However, she is a diplomat and, with only a look, got me to keep my mouth shut. She did not tear down that sales girl like I was about to do. She made her purchase as no snob is going to stop her and we left. Of course, she then pointed out that Tribal Voices now has competition: the only way the remain deserving of our money is if they remain a cut above, which they clearly are not. Their rudeness and judgment has lost them at minimum two customers. They may have lost more as we certainly told our friends of the incident.

I can then just either transfer funds or put the rest of it in a different card--that being my American Express card, which unfortunately Costco does not accept However, in a matter of literally about 5 weeks, I have had three *major* transaction errors from this Costco, and have just about had all I can take at this point. In two cases, Costco took my money and registers zero payment; and I had to wait about ten days to get my money back. The latest problem, (today,) there was an error when the cashier accidentally scanned stuff from a cart that was not associated with my party. Due to my knowledge about how this was going to go if they canceled the order, a supervisor or two had to come over to fix the whole mess. It would have been fine if they just accepted my American Express, but that is just no longer the case, apparently. Everyone was very nice about the incident today, and it really was not their fault; but their particular payment system is beyond simply being the worse. It is **awful**, and it has caused me a lot of stress, embarrassment, and irritation.
