We noticed the place while passing Fenelon Falls driving home from friends' cottage in Minden. As…read moresoon as my BF saw Elvis's portrait by the door, he stopped the car, he has an obsession with Elvis. Anyway, it's a nice antique store, lots of collectables, old books, furniture, home decor, etc. Tons of kitchy stuff to look and explore. No shoppers inside, same as everywhere in Fenelon Falls - it looks like a ghost town now when cottagers have left. The woman who worked at the store was nice and friendly, though the prices were higher than in similar antique stores. I'd expect them to have some kind of sale now when most tourists are gone, but no, there was no sale and she wouldn't bargain. Still, a nice place to stop by if you are passing through the town.

The set-up is full of nooks and crannies with display cases, shelves and tabletops covered in knick-knacks, vintage items, clothes, knitted hats, handmade crafts, paintings, prints, photos, zines, vintage books... you name it. What I really like about this store is that it seems there's something for everyone. The items are quirky, useful and in many cases, one-of-a-kind. If you're looking for something to treat yourself with or give as a heartfelt gift - or even if you'd like to kill some time - I highly recommend stopping by. Melinda, the owner, is very approachable, friendly and knowledgable. She is available to talk about whatever may grab your attention. I ended up purchasing a print of a delightful cat wearing a sailor's outfit, sitting by the sea on a cheery day, called "Sea Cat". I really had my eye on a handmade, anatomically correct heart too, which I ended up receiving as a gift a few weeks later!

The amount that our belongings received at auction seemed very fair but the amount that Mr Monk gained was very surprising. It did not reflect the ideas conveyed in our initial conversations. The hourly rate was provided but it seemed that the number of hours, he billed himself was a surprise as well as "packing". After his group can through and took things to auctioned, we were shocked by the amount of belongings in the end that were left behind. Even things that he had pointed at and specifically said he would take were left behind. Overall this process was most unsatisfactory and I would not do it again and not with Mr Monk. After a $2330.00 sale his expense was $1642. Beware
