So, at work yesterday, a co-worker told me that Michael's had a heritage display in honor of Black History Month. She also mentioned that all the items were on sale. Of course, I decided to stop by Michael's when I left work to check it out for myself. When I entered the store, I walked to where the seasonal items are located. At first, I did not see the display. There were no employees anywhere on the floor in my area so I circled back through and then I saw it. There was definitely a display, but there basically was not much of anything left. Most of the shirts, pins, jewelry, etc. was gone! I'm like...wow! It's only three days into Black History Month and they basically sold out of the heritage items. I hunt an employee down to ask when they are going to restock. She advised they weren't. It's just a "one time thing". Ummmm...excuse me? It's called Black History MONTH! Why would they not restock and we're only a few days into February? I don't like the store's strategy. I'm kind of disappointed. Not sure I'd go back..

Prices are pretty good as well, they were really busy when we were there so we didn't have any interaction with employees, except when we were checking out. But, they were friendly and careful with our items we purchased. We didn't even look at all the craft items they have (Christmas shopping day only, the day we went). But the store was large and they had lots of rows of stuff we didn't look at. They also have coupons on a pretty regular basis, so make sure to check those out before paying full price for something. Good store and good locations. We'll be checking them out again in the future.

They actually had a very large inventory of the supplies she was looking for and had several colors that were probably not as common at the other location. Really the only downtick in score was the price point. They offered 20% off on small volume purchases while she could get 40% off at the place she normally shops. Really it came down to price for these items. We have been in this store previously and explored a little more, they have good quantity of items on the shelves. They also make it easy to see prices (clearly marked). Store is pretty uncluttered for this type of store, and seems to be well organized. All in all, it's not a bad experience and we'd shop here again. My one recommendation would be to know prices before you go in so you can maximize how you spend your $$. Also, they post coupons pretty regularly, make sure there isn't an active one before you make your purchase.
