Prices are not going to be "cheap". However the selection and variety is large. We were traveling and have been going to stop. Today we did. We found (2) knives to add to our regular used Wusthoff (spelling is off) German knives we have used for 10 years. We love them and they had a good selection. read more

Ophelia is a veteran collector of knives who is highly knowledgeable in knives, weapons, and other items of badassery! Unfortunately much of her exquisite collection is not for sale as they are discontinued relics that remind me of when I first met her over twenty years ago! As one can imagine, her inventory consists of only the best so you already know what she has is top notch, no imitations. I always make a stop here while traveling across the 40, today I finally purchased a knife I've been eyeing since 2019. I now have a Benchmade Autocrat, you got that John Wick? John Wick and his microdic,, or microtech, rather... stop by Knife City and get a real knife! read more

Great selection of knives , very good prices . Helpful staff . Stopped there on the way to Grand Canyon and I am very glad i did ,

If you're driving down the I-40 east of Holbrook, and you like knives, and you're also into cities full of inanimate objects with their own highway exit, Knife City is just the place for you! I drop in almost every time we drive by to pick up a unique knife or just browse. It's an oasis of sharp things in the Arizona desert that will keep you coming back! read more

Talk about a great selection of cutlery, probably the best I've seen in ages. You walk in and get welcomed. The lady behind the counter made sure that I knew she'd be ready if I needed to look at anything. It took a while to look over their giant inventory. I should have had markers because my selections were in multiple spots. I asked to compare a couple of items and was shown what I wanted, did my comparison and made my choice. The lady even made certain that my boxes were not the open ones. Then I asked about another specific item and she went right to it and I took that too. Great service, and its in about the right place to get out of the car for some walking about on the way back from Albuquerque NM. I needed to stretch my legs and had some fun doing it. You look around and can see some decent pricing and the rest you just look at. I'd shop there again the next time I'm passing this way. Yes I order online, but have lost the instant gratification vibe of buying something fun from a real live person; it was nice to feel things the way they used to be. read more

Knife City Outlet - Found a Victorinox Farmer-X ALOX as I looked about, frequently sold out at other places. The X means it has scissors. Great EDC. - Sporting Goods Near Me - Holbrook, Arizona

I'm impressed by Knife City Outlet. Knives fall into three categories for me: those used for food; those used as a general-purpose tool; and those used for self-defense. Those useful for one category rarely are useful for others in my experience. Those used for food include those used for hunting and fishing, and those which are suitable for food prep. Knife City Outlet has a wide variety of knives which are useful to the hunter and fisherman alike, especially those used to dress game animals. I have purchased two on prior visits. I only utilize two difference knives for self-defense: the dagger and karambit -- and I have my favorites, on occasion replacing the former when I'm passing through the area. For me, I find that the knives I most often purchase here are those I use as general-purpose tools around the house or when camping (as I'm an airline pilot, I can't carry them at work). Many choices -- both fixed blades and folders. Many people buy a knife and find that they're unhappy with it, usually because of cheap construction, materials, or crappy metal used for the blade: it's not the store's fault that someone chose to buy a cheap knife. Choose wisely, and buy quality; learn how to take care of and sharpen it. I know a number of people who need knives, or would appreciate having one as a present. Guess where I do my shopping? read more

Knife city is a must for anybody driving through. Even if you're not into sharp objects, you'll still find something to point at and say "ooh that's cool".... And they have restrooms so. Knives are reasonably priced. Employees are very knowledgeable; I learned a lot in my 15 minutes there. Walked out with a cool piece I'll carry with me for years to come. read more

Great selection of current and some old new stock. Be sure to look around, may be surprised what you find. Staff was on point for my questions. Over all there is a little markup compared to some online vendors, some less, so shop and enjoy. read more

Wonderful stop! The gentleman working was such a knowledgeable, friendly person. They have a HUGE selection and it is most definitely a worthwhile stop. Even if you don't buy anything, just the conversation is worth it. The knives were mostly priced the same as other retailers. The bathrooms were clean and they even have a small, fenced in dog park. We only meant to spend 20 minutes but stayed an hour. read more

So many knives to look at and a neat little stop. Owner is super friendly and informative.

What a fantastic facility and a must visit for knife aficionados. I've always wanted to stop over the years (always short on time) but had some time today. I was amazed at the selection of top tier knives from premier manufacturers with many hard to find and limited release models. I really enjoyed chatting with the proprietor...she was extremely knowledgeable on the range of models I inquired about. Love the spyderco para 3 and found one in a color way I love and at a great price. Look forward to stopping in next time I'm on I40. And with her forthcoming gas station this will cover two bases. See you again soon. read more

Great place with super friendly people! My brother, son and I stopped here on our way home today. This place is awesome! So many knives and other assorted items a person could ever want! Very extensive display of knives. This place had decorative, collectibles, miniatures, outdoor types and more. Section for self defense. Also had gifts such as T-shirts, mugs, key chains, shot glasses and more. Quite pricy compared to online but a physical store is a must to compare things like the weight or quality. I also like to support local businesses whenever possible. The taco truck was the sleeper hit for me. We had just eaten breakfast when we got to the store but I couldn't resist the smell of fresh REAL tacos. So I ordered only 1 taco. The lady in the truck seemed a bit annoyed but I put myself in her shoes and I brushed it off. She brought my taco order into the store as my hubby was still browsing around. After purchasing, we headed towards our destination and started eating the taco- I was extremely sad that I didn't order more. It was so delicious. The homemade fresh tortilla ... the sauce that came with it..... it brought the whole thing together. I usually order extras of everything. But we were on a long road trip and I didn't want to keep much food around- especially highly perishable and potentially messy foods around. I even felt guilty because I secretly thought to myself that I should eat the whole taco myself and not share it with hubby. Don't pass on this taco truck!!! read more

Boys & their toys.. pretty cool place to shop! Passing by on our way to Colorado & can't really miss this place as it's a giant building, sort of in the middle of nowhere, w/ a GIANT sign saying "KNIFE CITY." Naturally my 12 y/o begged to stop & look, so we did. What an awesome selection... you could easily spend an hour here just admiring the selection. Everything from pocketknives to all sorts of swords to Chinese throwing stars & really elaborate, almost works of art knives... a truly amazing selection. They are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Normally I wouldn't buy things like this for how expensive it was, but being on vacation, I was able to talk myself into it. I bought my son a samurai sword, which he loves & practices with often (he's a purple belt in martial arts), as well as a shuriken (Chinese throwing star) & I bought the knife in the attached picture... made all my friends & neighbors at home jealous (but I haven't/won't tell my wife what I spent on it... $500). Although I was sort of upset with myself the next day for buying such an expensive knife, I showed it to my son's martial arts instructor & he was in awe... said the brand produces very high quality knives, so at least I didn't buy some junker piece that just looked cool. Staff could be a little friendlier, but they weren't rude or anything. read more

Well, Yelp reviews of this place are ACCURATE. DON'T STOP HERE! I pulled in today to buy a knife and have one sharpened. Initially I was told that sharpening wasn't available because she was alone in the store. Seconds later she backtracked and said she'd do it. My knife was sharper BEFORE I handed it to her. She was on the phone most of the time I was in the store. I did see something I wanted to buy but all the Trump decorations further let me know that my money didn't matter. I bought the same knife for almost half the price online. read more

Store was cool and there was an almost overwhelming selection. Just about anything you could imagine. I went ahead and bought a few things. They were kind enough to let me use the restroom. Regarding prices, the posts are accurate, I bought a knife that retails for $79.07 on Ka-Bar's website for $104 in the store. I didn't look at the other ones we bought. That said, it's a unique store and it's nice to be able to go in to a retail place and touch things before you buy them. Places have to make money. read more

OUTLET??? Far from outlet prices...over priced by hundreds of dollars..Wanted to buy a mircotech combat they were asking for 850 dollars and it retail for less then 500..stay away from this place !!! Buyer's beware!!! I wish I would have looked at yelp reviews before I purchased a knife from this business. If I could give zero stars, I would because they do not deserve any. The previous yelp review was dead on. The business owner as he calls "a lady" is no different than a street thief. I went to a local gun show and purchased what I thought was a $475 dollar knife. When I went home and carefully removed the sticker that was concealing the knifes manufactures part number, I learned that the knife was in fact valued at only $275. The value of $275 came from not just an online website it was the manufactures MSRP!!! I was told I could return/exchange this knife and when I returned the following day to do so "this lady" refused. I can only hope that people are wise enough to check out yelp first and read the ugly truth about this business. This business needs to be closed, for unfair business practice. read more

This place is a little slice of heaven!! Yes they have the cheap Chinese shit like everyone else but then you walk past that into wonderland!! Side opening, front opening, hard use knives, microtech, ESE, customs, straight razors (SICK HANDMADE). The owner is very knowledgable and more than happy to let you fondle all your favorite tools. I will be back and highly recommend this place. The prices are very high don't get me wrong but great to look. read more

Horrible customer service. We actually were on a road trip and back tracked to this place and we're excited and ready to spend lots of money on knives for my husband and son. We asked for assistance from the lady who worked here and she was chatting with another lady about traffic. We waited and still nothing so we walked out. I guess we saved $400 dollars. Also- the pricing is NOT outlet pricing and some prices are actually double that what we can get at Academy. It's cheaper online as well. I'm very disappointed overall. read more

Used to be better. Now absurdly overpriced inventory. Looked online to see review of knife I was about to buy for $144.00 and saw it listed for $90.00, showed kid the website to ask if they price match, he just shrugged and said "good for you". NEVER EVER will I stop here again. I understand a slight markup for overhead, but not that much. Kids attitude towards customers was the determining factor of this rating. read more

I thought being an outlet I might get a deal here but I was sold a 19$ for 35 bucks. They got me I guess wouldn't go here unless you need something right away. We've driven past this place several times on trips to Arizona and New Mexico, but this time we decided to stop in. What a selection! We've got more knives than Carter has pills, but I made the mistake of asking the owner (didn't catch her name) what she recommended. She showed me a Benchmark knife that was clearly superior to the knife it replaced, which itself was clearly superior to the three knives that had preceded it. Her recommendation was spot-on. I have appreciated her knowledge each time I use that knife. Can't wait for our next trip East! read more

We called to make sure they were open until 6 and they said yes. We drove over 30 miles to get there and pulled in at 5:50pm and the guy wouldn't let us in because "he already closed everything down." The owner should get rid of the guy that worked tonight. Terrible customer service!! read more

These guys had a lot of billboards on the highway so I decided to take a look. I do have to say, the amount of knives they have would make anyone drool. But the more I looked, the more something seemed very off. I ended up buying a tactical pen for $35 (which researching later, was "kinda" on par with market price) then I continued to look around and spotted knives I already own....A kershaw I bought for $22 was priced at $60?....a Platnium series that sell cheap $15 products...for $32?... An espada that usually sells in the $270 range at nearly $500?? What adds to the insanity is the web prices and store prices are nothing alike so they clearly are suckering tourist. ACTUAL RATING AWAITING RESPONSE... I really want to like this place as the proprietor is a very nice lady and the shop offers a wide array of product. Ultimately, it is up to the consumer to decide if the purchase is warranted. But because we are now in an age of Online, Offline, and Sideline Competition, things get testy. I'm fine paying over list in the moment, that's a convenience fee. But if the list itself is over list, then that is the very definition of (possibly in this case literally) highway robbery. My correspondence is awaiting reply. Depending on outcome, I might be in contact with Benchmade directly or amending this review. Like I said, Ofelia is a nice lady. Madame, I was in your shop on the 6th of April and purchased two knives. A simple Bokker Magnum (for my son) and a Benchmade Griptilian 550SHG for me. I had a good conversation with you, and your son, regarding Global Knives and your resolve to finish your order to stock them in your shop. I truly hope that you are successful. I am still happy with my purchase as it represents not only a souvenir but also marks an important point in my parent's history, their retirement. As you might recall, I was driving through in an RV purchased in IL bound for CA with my Dad and Cousin (Who purchased a rather expensive Benchmade as well.) It was not until I made it home safely, that I was able to give your business a glowing review on Yelp based upon my experience. After being directed to your page on Yelp however, that I saw your rather underwhelming rating and read the reviews responsible for said rating. I noticed several reviews regarding pricing in particular and have since checked my purchase and now am left with a question. http://www.benchmade.com/griptilian-family.html Amazon.com list price: $97.75 marked down from $105.00 list price http://www.amazon.com/Benchmade-Pardue-Design-Griptillian-Combo/dp/B0014BMEMQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1460881274&sr=8-3&keywords=benchmade+griptilian+550shg Your online list price: $97.75 marked down from $115.00 list price. http://knifecityoutlet.com/store/pc/5550SHG-Combo-Edge-Blade-Griptilian-Mini-49p51508.htm I paid $119.00 in your shop and I am wondering wherein lies the discrepancy? I am ready to post a positive review based upon m experience in your shop, but I am in need of a response. Thank you, B. Gastellum We'll see...Don't get me wrong, I really do want these guys to win. I have no problem paying MSRP in this case. Maybe even a couple bucks above just because of the momentous occasion. Which is weird for me since I am true pake. She said the company would be mad if she slid it for that price.
