Unsafe Staffing Ratios and Lack of Supervision: I had to pull my son out of this camp today…read moreimmediately after drop-off due to severe safety and staffing violations. I witnessed entirely unacceptable counselor-to-camper ratios that violate NY State regulations. There was only one teacher upstairs with over 15 children, and another trying to navigate a elevator alone with over 8 children. Furthermore, children are permitted to enter at 9:00 AM, but counselors reportedly do not arrive until 9:30 AM, creating a dangerous 30-minute supervision gap. To make matters worse, the director was completely absent from the site. This level of negligence is unsafe. I have pulled my child from the program and am filing a formal report with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH). Parents beware

This program is being held inside a busy Northeastern University (formerly Mountmary College) building. My 5 year old son reported to me today that he went to the restroom and was walked in on while taking a bowel movement by an "old man." He related that the man saw him and then just went away. I asked where his teacher was and he told me it occurred during lunch and that he was not accompanied or monitored. This is very troubling. Adding to this, my other son came home with a swollen ear twice its normal size and we were not at all notified about this! And these are just two of my most alarming concerns about this place. I have now pulled my kids out from this week's camp and filed a formal complaint. Warning to other parents to please take heed!

Upon arrival, the front section had the check-in register where we received our wristbands. They also had all sorts of merchandise goods, toys and games on display as well. The session started promptly on time. There was a custom short video that everyone got to watch before entering Bluey's home. Once the video ended, we walked into the living room of the Heeler family. Then we got to see the kitchen and bedrooms as well. They were very nicely decorated to resemble the details of the cartoon series. There were also toys and games for kids to play with. But the space got repetitive pretty quickly. Since the rooms were small and crowded with kids and adults, it seemed like my daughter was bored within 10 minutes. In the later parts, they did a story telling session and a meet and greet session with Bluey and Bingo that salvaged the experience somewhat. The staff members were friendly. They put their best effort to make it fun and joyful for the kids. I was pleasantly surprised to see the photos for meet and greet session were free. But paying tickets for 2 adults and a kid, the experience fell far short of expectations, since literally the adults had nothing to do except keeping an eye on their kids, in addition to such confined space that kids could finish exploring within 10 minutes or so. It didn't feel worth the price.

Soooo many bodies!…read more I'm guilty of visiting this playground only on weekends, but "crowded", here, takes a new meaning. Make sure to repeatedly warn your child of paying attention to kids running wild in all directions. Parents seem to be MIA... The playground is quite modern... there's even a half sphere kids can climb on (bare feet, or it won't work). Plenty of swings and climbable options. The place is divided into two areas for children of different ages... both very crowded (did I mention that?). There's a slide kids can use after climbing over big rocks... not the safest option when there are too many kids lining up (and pushing each other) to do it. With little else around to have your child move, this is the forced option. The silver lining is that you're in freaking Union Square, with all sorts of food (or booze... you may need some after a visit to this place) available to you.

The shiny dome climbing structure is amazing, as are the slides. It's always busy here, no matter the season or weather, but to me that just means the kids love it and are having fun. Definitely recommend for locals and visitors alike.

They read a story book and give you hot chocolate to warm you up and santa comes around to speak to everyone. So cute and a great view of the city. My only issue is the bus itself. I wish it was covered up to protect kids and families from the cold. The winters in NYC can be brutal and my son got super sick afterwards even though we bundled up very well. When the bus moves, you feel every bit of that cold. I recommend upgrading the bus to be similar to the tea around town bus so families can enjoy more comfortably in the cold.

The point where they asked us to meet them was a high traffic parking lot that was very dangerous to be standing around with little kids. When they finally showed up it was not the Polar Express bus that was promised. It was a flower bus nothing to do with Christmas theme and the bus was not big enough for all the people that had purchased tickets so we couldn't even fit in the bus and we didn't take the ride. When I tried to complain to customer service, I got an automated reply that they would contact me but never did! Very crappy company, non responsive and they don't deliver what they promise!!

Both of our children attended Wee Ones, and we have experience with the Mommy and me two's,…read moredrop-off threes, and drop-off fours (pre-K) programs. I can't say enough good things about our experiences with the owner, Kara, and the warm, professional teachers/teaching assistants she uses to staff the classes. The facilities are clean, bright, and welcoming, especially after the 2015 remodel. A policy of removing/changing into indoor shoes at the door is enforced, which I love. We've enjoyed all programs, but I am a raving fan of the pre-K program and want to focus my review there. I think it is one of the best (though not intentionally) kept secrets in the Murray Hill neighborhood. Kids are exposed to a very structured (but fun) full-day program that typically includes daily uppercase and lowercase letter/number writing, (with 2 weekly homework sheets), free play, counting exercises (learning to count by 10s, etc.), daily reader worksheets, art, music, stretching, show and tell, Chess, pre-math skills via Cuisenaire rods, rest time, and tons of field trips (at least 5 per school year, I'd guess). There is no pressured emphasis on learning to read, but the kids are given a great pre-literacy foundation, and some that are ready/interested will often learn to read in this class in my experience. Pre-K class size varies by year, but is incredibly small some years, which has its pros and cons, but has been a mostly positive attribute in our experience (and one of the reasons we chose Wee Ones over UPK twice). Even in small class years, the class has both a head teacher and a teaching assistant present most days. While the class is very structured in nature, it is not a cold environment in any way. The teachers are available and responsive via e-mail and sometimes text (even throughout the day if there is a pressing concern, in my experience). My kids have really loved going and being welcomed down the stairs and into the classroom every day. I truly feel that they have been better prepared for Kindergarten than some of their peers who went to entirely play-based-learning preschools (oh, and did I mention that it's a fraction of the cost of most other neighborhood options???) Please feel free to reach out if you have questions.
