I enthusiastically recommend Tech by Bonnie! Bonnie is knowledgable, efficient, patient, calm,…read morerespectful, and just plain nice! Especially in this very unique space of supporting people with some, little, or no experience with tech at home. Like many, I'm confident when all of the systems are running as they should but having developed my tech skills in a professional environment, I could always rely on the IT department when things got "sticky." Bonnie offers that support now that I work from home - she is my IT department. In addition, from a home entertainment perspective, Bonnie helped me along the path to "cut the cord" and save some $$$ on cable. And all of the above came at a very affordable and fair rate.

During my more active years I worked with a wide variety of technical experts, having been somewhat of one myself. I am thus well able to judge technical competence and skill. Bonnie is in the class of the most able of information technologists. She reminds me of the very early days of computers when it was the women English majors who led the way bringing computers into wide-spread use by ordinary people. Bonnie is not only knowledgeable in all aspects of personal computers, but she has the ability to comfortably transmit this knowledge to beginners and unskilled users. She is patient, understanding and communicative. And I might add, considering the economy today and what other professionals charge, her charges are quite reasonable. Pray tell, mon chéri Laissez les bon temps rouler Wishing you y'all a very happy Valentine's, President's weekend, followed by a tremendous Mardi Gras (aka "Fat Tuesday"). Merci beaucoup! Now his heritage lives on in this very house hosting chefs from around the globe, and the James Beard Awards aka the Oscars of the culinary world. It's an incredible honor to be invited as a chef here, and the menu obviously varies based on the chef, specialties, type of cuisine, but the calibre and nature of the event really blew me away. The opportunity to have a personalized meal from a chef, his/her favorite dishes, and the story behind the chef is special and unmatched. I was really impressed by the quality of the food, wine pairings, and the unparalleled dining experience from the moment you walk in. A few things to keep in mind for first-time visitors: 1. You can go upstairs to your table even during champagne & appetizers. It can get kind of crowded so I would actually recommend going up sooner rather than later. 2. Come with a friend who you can talk to for hours on end, and truly enjoy the meal together from start to finish. Be prepared for 3+ hours for food, LOTS of drinking, and conversation. 3. Keep an open mind, take in the entire experience, and try everything. Also, join the JB Foundation if you haven't already. Looking forward to many more meals in this amazing establishment!

Upper East Side

The upper eastside facility has a fitness center, swimming pool and a variety of classes (salsa dancing, guitar lessons, tech instruction.) Some classes reflect the large community of Asian seniors including English communication skills for Mandarin speakers. But there's also advanced beginner German! Unlike Saint Peters, this center operates seven days a week. They also offer three meals a day for a voluntary contribution of $1 for breakfast, and $1.50 for lunch and dinner. The fitness center borders on adequate -- a small room with some malfunctioning equipment, and not much of it. (I look at this as an alternative to Planet Fitness whose NYC locations pale in comparison to my Planet Fitness in Ardmore, PA -- but maybe not.) When you enroll, you can participate in programs at all Lenox Hill locations. (Besides St. Peters Church, I believe there's a center in the Village.) I'm a newbie to all this -- new-ish to town, but well over sixty! -- and from what I can tell, the staff and folks who participate are friendly and come from all walks of life.

No Dogs Left Behind - Monty adopted from NDLB

Those of us who support Jeff understand that extraordinarily few people could undertake this kind of rescue effort under the most dire of circumstances and maintain their sanity. I have…read morenothing but praise for all of the staff encountered throughout our adoption process, (which from start to finish took a little more than three months). NDLB is an incredible 501(c) (3) non-profit and their global mission of rescuing dogs and cats from immense suffering and complete abandonment, along with their exceptional care and concern for each survivor (no matter the gravity of each animal's injuries), is nothing short of outstanding. The dog we happened to adopt is a Japanese Akita Inu and happens to go by the name Romeo because he happened to be saved from slaughter on Valentine's Day (on February 14, 2020). The founder of NDLB , Jeff Beri, and his crew actually risked their lives twice to save our dog. Once (due to the strict Covid-19 Restrictions in China at that time and a second time to challenge the people who were about to slaughter him). I personally found all of the NDLB staff I interfaced with during the adoption process very personable and easy to connect with. More importantly, I found the staff demonstrated great care and concern for their animals throughout the adoption process. While waiting for Romeo's freedom flight to New York, we received multiple videos and photo's along with ongoing communication from the NDLB Chinese staff who were with him daily. The New York staff made sure I (along with my husband), understood all the possible challenges that came with adopting a dog from overseas and wanted to make sure we were up for this type of challenge. All I can say is Romeo has completely changed our family's life. Our family over the years has had three dogs. Romeo was our first overseas adoption, by far, he is the most considerate dog we have ever had the pleasure of owning, and is always looking out for our well-being. One last positive has been, over the past months, being able to maintain on going contact with Romeo's team in China, and being able to send photos and videos of him here having all sorts of fun in the USA. (See Romeo enjoying sunbathing below).
