UPDATE AFTER OWNER RESPONSE:…read more Thank you for taking the time to respond. I do appreciate the professionalism in your reply, and I also want to reiterate that my frustration was never truly directed at Kaila personally. My disappointment comes from the overall handling of the situation as a longtime returning customer. I completely understand that scheduling conflicts happen and that businesses have policies and time limitations. However, what was most frustrating was the lack of accountability or meaningful effort to make the situation right after the confusion occurred. As someone who has supported your business for years for special occasions like birthdays, Valentine's Day, and Mother's Day, I expected a little more customer care and consideration rather than an explanation of why the situation happened. I think what disappointed me most was that the response focused heavily on justifying the circumstances instead of acknowledging the customer experience itself. A little empathy and flexibility can go a long way in retaining loyal clients. I genuinely loved coming to Perfect Balance over the years, which is why this experience was so disappointing in the first place. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been a loyal customer of Perfect Balance Day Spa in Lodi for years and have regularly visited with my mother for occasions like Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, birthdays, and other special celebrations. Because of the positive experiences I've had in the past, I recently called a week before Mother's Day to schedule two "Slices of Heaven" services so my mother and I could treat each other for the holiday. Unfortunately, this particular experience was very disappointing. After confirming my appointment for a specific day and time, I received a call asking if I could move the appointment to 3:30 PM. I was understanding and accommodated the change without issue. Shortly after, I received another call informing me that if they were to keep the appointment, the "Oasis" portion of the service would only be provided for approximately 30 minutes instead of the full advertised hour. I politely asked whether there could be a price adjustment since the full service would not be rendered, but I was told, "Yeah, no." The receptionist, Kayla, made it seem as though she had already checked with a higher-up regarding the matter. She was polite throughout the interaction and even acknowledged that she understood my frustration and agreed that the situation did not seem right. Because of that, this review is not necessarily a reflection of Kayla personally, but rather of the management decision and lack of accommodation from whoever she had to answer to, whether that was a supervisor or the owner. I also asked whether another day could be arranged instead, but the communication felt hesitant and delayed, which ultimately led me to cancel the appointment altogether and make arrangements with Appellation aka Wine and Roses. It's unfortunate because I have genuinely supported and enjoyed this business for years. The 3 stars are for the quality of massages and prior customer service experiences I've received in the past. However, I deducted 2 stars due to the repeated scheduling changes, uncertainty, lack of accommodation, and unwillingness to provide a fair adjustment for a shortened service that could not be fully delivered as advertised. Very disappointing.

I'm happy to say that Darin is a great masseuse. 2.5 hours of driving and 8 hours of sitting in front of a computer for five days a week is not the most comfortable thing in the world. A week after my second session I can feel how much soreness and tension have left my body compared to before the appointment. You won't the best massage if you don't help explain what your focus areas are or the amount of pressure you need. Darin will always ask before and during the session to make sure you're getting the most out of it, and change his flow if necessary. The guy is honest, caring, respectful, and just gives good massages. I am very grateful for the amount of physical and mental stress that has been taken away from my life because of him.

Darin was a nice guy but I don't enjoy chatting through my entire massage, I prefer a more relaxed and quiet environment.

I have had acupuncture when I lived in other locations so feel like I am a pretty good judge. In my case I see Amanda and Connie for help with issues related to my oncology treatments. With their help these issues are under control. On top of the professionalism of Connie and Amanda, there are the office staff, Magenta and Cheryl, who are always on top of scheduling and insurance issues - in my case VA too - and who are a joy to see whenever I have an appointment. Inner Balance is A+.

My 2 problems were when the lady at the register took my card and asked how much I'd like to tip( by the way this was before the massage.) When I told her $10, she abruptly said "no, $15" . I protested politely that I'd only like to tip $10 because I have not yet received the massage. If they had done a good job I would tip more in cash afterward. But she would not listen to my request and charged me the $15 tip after I had refused multiple times. Secondly, I've only ever been to one other massage place. At which, I was free to leave whatever clothes of mine on and they made me feel very comfortable. At Flowie Spa they came into the room and saw that I was not completely stripped and told me not to wear anything. I said I wasn't comfortable with that and they relentlessly requested that I wear no clothing. I understand if that is what most of their customers do but I would expect that if you boldly say you are not comfortable being naked they would listen. Overall I do not recommend this place if you are uncomfortable with either of the things I dealt with coming here. Never have I felt more uncomfortable and ignored.

What has been especially lovely over these past several months is getting to witness her growth. Lily continues to expand what she can offer, including lymphatic drainage, while also continuing to learn, refine her gifts, and become more attuned to the ways she can support the people who come to her. I recently experienced her Lymphatic Drainage Reset and could feel the effects almost immediately and for days afterward. It has been such a wonderful addition to the care I already receive from her. More than anything, I appreciate seeing someone so passionate about helping others become their most healed and cared for selves also remain committed to her own growth. There is so much heart behind what Lily does, and I think that is something you can only appreciate more with time. It has been beautiful watching her continue to grow into her gifts, and I'm genuinely excited to see where that growth takes her. I'll happily continue showing up each month and cheering her on along the way. Thank you, Lily, for all the care you continue to pour into what you do and into the people who trust you with their healing. It is always appreciated.
