I highly recommend Inner Balance if you are considering acupuncture. I have tried others in our area and they don't compare. I have had acupuncture when I lived in other locations so feel like I am a pretty good judge. In my case I see Amanda and Connie for help with issues related to my oncology treatments. They are both aware of the various treatments I am on and the side effects. I have struggled with issues related to my liver getting inflamed and GI tract disorders, all due to the meds. With their help these issues are under control. On top of the professionalism of Connie and Amanda, there are the office staff, Magenta and Cheryl, who are always on top of scheduling and insurance issues - in my case VA too - and who are a joy to see whenever I have an appointment. I have been coming to Inner Balance for over a year now. In all of my visits I have not once been disappointed. All staff are extremely nice and professional. I alternate from seeing Connie and Amanda only because my schedule doesn't have much flexibility. Connie has probably been the one I've had most treatments with and has really been amazing. She takes time to ask questions related to my pain levels, shares exercises and in-home treatments. From time to time I'll request scraping (Gua Shua) which really helps relieve extra tension from my neck and shoulders. They have natural supplements and oils for purchase that really work! Oh man. What a hidden gem in the city of Lodi. first encountered Cara in my place of employment I quickly asked her if she had a business card and she politely handed it over. This placed rocked the ambiance of Inner balance was as if you weren't in the city of Lodi. Immediately when you walk in the light yet aromatic smell of sweet lavender honey and jasmine simply relaxes ones mind body and spirit. I was greeted at the front by the wonderful receptionist who instructed me to fill out a couple of forms. So we did. The day of our appointment was my husbands bday so we decided to get the couples massage. My husbands MT was Lily btw. This was my husbands first time getting a 1 hr Swedish massage. I don't think he knew what to expect. Lily explained everything to him and by the time I knew it, he was butta in her hands. I'm glad he got to experience a professional massage vs. the ones at the mall. (Just sayin not knockin anyone down). Amanda is an awesome acupuncturist: very detailed, knowledgeable and attentive to your health needs. My daughter began seeing her about a year and a half ago due to her Lyme disease symptoms. Later, I began seeing Amanda because of my back and neck pain. We always leave in less or no pain and in my daughter's case with more energy. I had a bulge ( I believe it was tight muscles ) protruding in my lower back and through her great body work ( acupuncture, cupping, etc.) the swelling came down in no time. I've seen both Connie and Amanda several times. They are great practicioners, each a little different but both excellent. They're kind, compassionate and highly knowledgeable and eager to educate and answer any of my questions. Magenta is also very informative, helpful and does a good job of keeping things running smoothly. I went with them over others as I saw they do cupping (I tried two kinds). I definitely recommend it. The acupuncture portion helped me narrow down certain areas I really needed to treat and focus on. Coupled with my western medicine treatments it has helped me to steer in the right direction of my health care goals and decisions. What's been most beneficial are the herbs they prescribed me. I am very certain it cleared out one of my issues that I have had for at least a year and a half that my doctors have not been able to treat or the treatment was really risky. Very disappointed with this place. They wanted a physician referral so I got that. Then they wanted an authorization from my doctor. This is over course of about 3 weeks. They are more worried about my insurance than the pain I'm having . My insurance is through my union and it clearly states that acupuncture is a covered treatment. I think I'll just go to a surgeon. I had a 1 hour massage with lisa that i purchased through groupon. It was so great. I told her i wanted to focus on my upper body, shoulders and back and so the whole massage was dedicated to that. I have never had so many knots worked out. I left feeling great and barely sore despoite the hard pressure i had requested. Lisa was so kind, she offered me 50% of my next visit, because she gives 50% of your first visit but she sais since i used groupon that it didnt count. How awesome.
