I ordered a bone-in Iberico pork chop with plum sauce, potato gratin and ratatouille. The pork was perfectly cooked and the potato gratin was delicious. However, the plum sauce had a strange aftertaste, and the ratatouille was average, and was not served fully hot. The service was rather brisk and curt, giving a feeling that they were rushing us to order. There was a desert menu but it was not offered, which reinforced the sense that they wanted us out in and out, fast. This restaurant seems to be geared to the American military clientele from the nearby base, not an elevated, authentic German restaurant for but more like a Spiesinder (dîner) with elevated prices.

Their service is great. Love the 1 liter sized beers on draft and there is a lot of history to this place. You can see it with their paintings and decorations all over the restaurant and bar. Very reasonable prices too. Had 3 liters of beer, the schnitzel and the apple strudel all for under 30€. I would come back and try out their schweinshaxe since they ran out on our visit.

It's great if you haven't switched over to euros yet or if you want to save money. You can pay in either dollars or euros when paying in cash. If paying with card, you pay with euros. They have a large indoor area and a patio as well. If you go in the hot summer months, be aware that, like most places in Germany, you won't have AC but fans instead. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful. They have an expansive menu that hosts a lot of great options. Everything I've ever tried from there has been really good. On my most recent visit I had their summer salad with shrimp and it is excellent. They also have a great drink selection. I enjoyed the dry Rosé. The jagerschnitzel with dumplings is so far my favorite compared with any other restaurant. The mushrooms gravy is wonderful and I could have eaten their dumplings for days. They have a cauliflower soup that you really must try. It is so rich and creamy. The only thing I didn't care for was the poppy seed cake. There really isn't much out there but it's a nice stopping off point as you pass through. The drive to it is beautiful. They have outdoor seating and the building itself is right up against a sheep farm which is great for entertaining the kiddos. It is a popular place with the bikers as well.
