I have been coming to Klondikes for years (they used to have this amazing Tuesday night special that I miss so much). I came this week for lunch with my brother and daughter's the service was friendly and the atmosphere is always so fun! We ordered the family special that included an extra large one topping pizza, two dinner salads and garlic bread! It was a fantastic deal! This is the best pizza on the central coast. The red sauce they use is amazing and the roadkill is the best pizza but you can't go wrong with the pepperoni. What makes this place the best is the staff. They are always friendly, helpful, and on top of it. Been going for years and they treat us like family. New owner/ customer service . Since this is our third bad experience I must assume that the employees are only enforcing the rules put forth by the owner. So first thing first. They charge for everything. Including things that every other pizza place includes with bread sticks, salad and an occasional extra sauce. Secondly when we were missing a ordered item the staff refused to make it right as if we were trying to cheat them. Lastly, admittedly, we came in right before closing however we did not expect to be asked eat and leave within 45 minutes. Again I can only assume the owner is more concerned with the having to pay the employees a couple of extra bucks. I had never heard of this place. But I was looking for pizza and Yelp helped me find this amazing place!! The place was cute. Lots of things to look at on the walls. Take some time and check it out. Ordered half Roadkill and the other half Hawaiian. Oh my gosh!! I was amazed how delicious it was!! I can't tell you which one I liked better because they both were awesome!! i'll start off with a tip, order ahead of time. it is not the quickest pizza to walk in and order during your lunch hour. Besides this though i think it's worth it. This isn't your other fast chains and the pricing will show it. this is for when you want quality and don't mind paying a big premium for it. All ingredients feel and taste premium, from the sauce to the toppings. The staff is friendly and even gave me a free drink. I ordered the road kill (all meat) on white sauce and it was worth every penny. I also love their in house ranch. The pizza took about 25 minutes for a mini so next time i will order beforehand. Came on a Saturday night 2/8/25. Our build your own Pizza was well made and delicious. The cashier is an awesome dude, was very friendly. The atmosphere is great, very 80s vibe. My daughter graduated today so myself and my family decided to go to Klondikes to eat for lunch (daughters choice) there was 9 of us. We walked in and it was already busy. ((I don't think Klondikes knew that they were going to be busy since graduations)) There was ONLY one girl named Allie she took orders, refilled drinks, took pizza to the tables. I was here in march of 23 and after a stupid long wait they bring a pizza that sucked so bad they make another one to make up and gave me a voucher for a free XL. Well I used that today for a basic Hawaiian. It was unanimous among my family, IT SUCKED!. The crust was not only burnt as show around the whole thing but the inner crust was CARDBOARD. I hadn't eaten Klondikes in decades but I've always known it to be there, my first viewing of Klondikes was in Arroyo Grande, I was tripping because I had never seen peanut shells on the floor, and then I found that they had Reindeer Pizza and I thought that was unusual, so I did not order it and had a regular pizza, I think it was good, this was back in 1988, but I live in Santa Maria, so I doubted that I would come back, to me a pizza is a pizza, but a business with peanut shells is cool. So back again in Santa Maria, I probably ordered a regular pepperoni pizza to go and this might of been 20 years ago and again to me, a pizza is a pizza. Now zap 2019 and I'm older and now I have to watch what I eat, lately I've been ordering a bunch of Vegetarian Pizzas or Pizzas without extra cheese or meats and I've been searching a for a decent Vegetable Pizza and can't come up with one, I would mention the other Pizza joints, but that's not fair with Klondike. So, I'm in San Luis Obispo and I'm heading toward Santa Maria and I decide to call Santa Maria Klondike, I asked them what the wait time for ordering a pizza and he says 40 to 45 minutes, I said perfect, order me a Medium Vegetable Pizza. So I drive with no bad traffic on a Sunday afternoon (Father's Day) and I get to Klondikes in 35 minutes, I paid for the pizza and they said they just placed the pizza in the oven. I'm looking around and it still looks the same as it did 20 years ago, not bad, I'm in a nostalgic mood, 10 minutes pass and the girl comes up to me with a large box and says they went ahead and put the medium in the large box, I didn't mind and man that that box was hot. I got home and munched down. These pizzas come with more vegetables than the other pizza joints so there was no problem, but it makes me wish how I could have a pepperoni and cheese, but my stomach can't handle it., but this pizza did the trick, it made me happy and I've figured out that a pizza is not a pizza unless you order the right one. There are minor differences between the Arroyo Grande location. For one, you serve your own delicious peanuts versus having to bring the empty basket to the server. With a brighter interior and a cheerier atmosphere we ordered a mini vegetarian pizza (no zucchini). The pizza arrived hot and loaded with veggies. The pizza was adequate enough, with the helping of peanuts, to fill us. I think this location has been in business since 1993. I hope they continue! We'll be back! read more

This used to be my favorite place to get pizza. The quality of the food has gone downhill, as has the service from the staff. I ordered a pizza and dinner salad recently, and took it home only to find moldy tomatoes in the container. We had to throw the whole salad out, and the pizza wasn't near as good as they used to be. I tried to call the restaurant that evening, and a kid answered, put me on hold and never picked back up. The last time we tried to order from them, the staff did the same thing, so we ended up driving down to the restaurant to get the pizza. Walked in to find the phone off the hook, and staff standing around clearly not interested in customers. There are lots of places to eat in Santa Maria, and I think I will look elsewhere than Klondike's going forward. read more

I call Klondikes to confirm it's the right order? Yes it was. 14 slices and a X-large. Yes the pizza had 14 slices....2-3 of the slices were literally 2" wide at the crust. We were just passing through and found this fun spot! Dirt and peanut shell floors, a few old school arcade games, and just a great small town, kid friendly vibe. The pizza was some of the best we have ever had! We ordered light on the pizza sauce and it was perfect. Fair warning, the cheese pizza was literally the most cheese we have ever seen on a pizza. If that's you jam, it will be PERFECT for you. The pepperoni was covered in pepperoni which was wonderful. All-in-all 5-stars!
