    Entrance to park

Warning - no dogs allowed. That was awkward. After being in MA where only restrictions were beaches and certain of nature preserves, I find really tricky going out and about with my dog here in WI.

Amazing park on the lakefront. Lake's at a height but you can walk to the lake from there. There is a tiny beach area too. Water was so blue, we saw a few people swimming too! We were here for a food truck brunch event by Whitefish Bay and it was a gorgeous day out. There are plenty of benches for people to sit on and the park had a soccer space too. It was dog friendly and kids were running around and enjoying the space too! They have a parking lot too which was open for the public (it's not open all the time). It had an amazing view! Definitely worth coming here over and over again for a nice walk or just siting on the benches to enjoy the view!

This park is one of a kind! Great views, lots to explore, and If you're in to rock collecting, it's definitely worth checking the beach area out!! That being said, It is a STONEY beach with little to no sand. However, it was nice not getting sandy at the beach for once! Best part- Theres huge boulders you can climb and jump off! Super fun. Worst part- lots of annoying bicycle tweens everywhere, throwing rocks at you. All in all it was a fun spot, and I'll definitely go back next time I'm here in town!

I had started a thread a few weeks back on best parks for a baby walk and this place was suggested by Melanie B. Holy smokes, she wasn't kidding, this place was the real deal. After a little studying up on the park, I found out it was right on the beach. There is no better place for a picnic than a beach, so I packed up baby and the wife and made the long trek to Whitefish Bay. On arrival I found a small park with a big playground and a small pavilion. I drove a little further and found the parking lot, which contained the entrance to the beach area. After walking down a steep, paved and winding path, Lake Michigan was front and center in all her glory. This beach has a good mix of grass in the back and beach area in front of the water, so it's perfect to picnic in the grass and sun in the sand. The weather was beautiful, and while the beach was busy it never even seemed close to packed. The views are absolutely breathtaking and it even makes it challenging to focus on anything else but the lake. This is one of Milwaukee's best kept secrets and it makes me thankful I live within driving distance of so many great parks.

There is plenty of open space between the play areas for kids to run around, and the benches and picnic tables offer a chance to sit and share a snack or lunch. If you visit the park during the day, don't forget your sunscreen as there are no trees to provide shade. This is a great addition to the Glendale community, and as a resident, I'm looking forward to going more often to enjoy music, the beer garden, and, of course, more time with family.

The park is situated by the parking lot although it is still a distance away but it would be super nice to have the assurance that once you're in your kiddos can't run away. There is little to no shade- there is also just a couple of benches by the actual playground area. Some scattered picnic tables serve as seating to watch the kiddos from afar but not quite enough especially if it's a busy day. Overall it's a fun park to visit and I would definitely recommend checking it out- bring sunscreen and maybe even a chair/blanket in case there isn't seating available.

We loved playing on the playground located on the park too. The only downside of the playground is that it's sandy, which can get a little messy, but our boys loved playing in the sand! Outside of the playground, the park is made up of large green fields to explore and run around. We wandered all around until we found a set of stairs leading down to the lake and takes you right to the beach. The path was so pretty! I love that it's such a vast park, which so much open space to run, picnic, or post up on a blanket with a book. It also happens to have my son's favorite playground around, so he's always requesting we go! Surrounding the play area are plenty of picnic tables where we have seen grill-out type gatherings before. It's on our list to plan a big one with friends this summer. Plus there's a pavilion down one of the paths that has bathrooms and a covered space which comes in handy. Oh and the BEST part? The very best part!? The relaxing and beautiful walk down into the woods that leads your straight to the Milwaukee shoreline. Everytime I walk down I think that it must be the best kept secret because it's never (ever!) busy. Maybe I'll regret telling the community in this post!? The two pathways, be it quite steep, are wide and paved, winding down into the forest. When you get to the water you find the most stunning and serene views. Sometimes I forget how lucky we are to have Lake Michigan attached to our city. There's nothing not to love at Doctors. Get outdoors and enjoy!

It's small and there are only a few short trails, but it's as serene and lovely as can be. Fall is a perfect time to check it out, but wear shoes that can handle mud and slippery leaves. The beach is minimal, but the kids will entertain themselves for hours climbing on fallen trees, looking for the perfect rock and perhaps building a shelter out of branches. One last tip: On your way down the steep hill, borrow a walking stick that you'll find on the left hand side near the entrance. Just be sure to return it for the next explorer to use.

If you hike along the water, the beach opens up in a few places. It's very secluded! If you take the trails off to the north of the main one, you should stumble upon a bunch of old wooden benches, which are remnants of a long-gone outdoor church. High schoolers frequent this place to, well, do the things that high schoolers do. Don't worry though, they're more scared of you than you are of them. This is a wonderful place to get close to nature. It's generally very quiet. I've seen deer, bats, lots of interesting mushrooms, and many varieties of wildflower. The trail can be overgrown, but it is still quite clear. It's not possible to get lost, as the park is rather small, and all the trails are loops. Just be careful about wandering onto private property. No one seems to care too much, but there are "no trespassing" signs by the fences. If you want better beach, you might have to ignore the warnings, but you didn't hear it from me. Also, be careful along the shore here-- it can be tricky to traverse.

It's $20/hour, for a maximum of 3 hours, with an extra hour for set up and clean up (30 minutes before and after the rental). In the hall, there are 2 large wooden tables and 4 round tables big enough to sit 8-10 already set up. In the back room, there are plenty of chairs that you will need to set up and put back. There is also another round table in the back, but it's missing legs, and you could try to install the legs on (there are some spare legs back there as well) to use the table. We didn't have enough time or the tools to try, but if you really want 5 tables, you might want to be prepared to get this done in time. There are also 4 folding rectangular tables inside. There are electric outlets that will accommodate slow cookers and such, and a little microwave. But no oven or stove, so all cooking will need to be done ahead of time. The gas fireplace will turn on easily with the touch of a button and bring beautiful atmosphere. All the lights are in the office. Bathroom is well stocked and all the cleaning supplies are in the cleaning closet. We had a lovely gathering and very thankful for the venue. Wish the rental could be for 4 hours rather than 3, but it was still a good amount of time.

How it's worked the last few weeks (as you can see in the picture) is they place dividers down the center line and one side is free skate and the other side is pick-up hockey. But they recently added a mini rink right next to the full size one and last week free skate was there and the whole full rink was for pick-up hockey. If you are looking for a place to lace up the skates that doesn't require signing up weeks in advance, Cahill is the place to go. Masks are required for using their facilities, but at an outdoor rink in the winter, why would you not want to wear one anyways? It is only available for open skate a couple hours each day so be sure to check the parks website for times!
