(Sometimes you need to learn from your customers and make changes and here was your opportunity)…read moreNice at first but turned rude and unreasonable when logically anyone would have an issue at home with a dog in pain. We were given an eye serum where they draw blood to make eye drops for an eye ulcer. It was given to us with instructions to put 1-2 drops 3-4 times a day (in a squirming dogs eye)....given to us in a medicine plunger (the kind you'd put in an animals mouth instead of a bottle with a dropper. Both my husband and I tried it as we were in from out of state and headed home the next day. The plunger sticks when you try to push it and get just "1 drop at a time" and then sprays out everywhere on the floor. (We have both had probably 20 dogs in our lifetime and children so we know what works for eyes) We had to transfer the blood serum that night to another container, go to Walgreens and buy a dropper to get it 1-2 drops in a painful eye. I called the next day and they said they would have to get permission for a refund since we were on the road with a 12 hr drive and could not bring our dog back in to draw more blood since over half the serum was wasted and had gone all over the floor. Never heard back from them over a week and I call and they said "no we are not giving you a refund sorry it did not work out for you." And that response is pretty rude. I would've been content to hear something along the lines of "we will make changes and understand your concern and the trouble you went through"......So here I am because they refuse to acknowledge the trouble a plunger for an eye caused or refund us the $. We had to go to our vet at home and pay for another visit draw more blood and get more serum. All it takes is some common sense when you ask a pet owner to put drops in a squirming dogs eye. Again I will say....Sometimes you need to learn from your customers and make changes and here was your opportunity. I am certain I am not the only pet owner with this same situation. Whoever owns this place you decided wrong. We frequently visit MO and have 3 dogs and will not be back if we need a vet again.

On the Friday morning of the memorial weekend my friend called me that his young female Donkey, who was not known to be pregnant ...went into labor trying to deliver a dead baby. I was frantically calling any vet, anywhere to help. i needed a "field veterinarian " one that comes to the site. All my calls were either..we don't have a field vet or since I wasn't a customer they couldn't help me....or their field vet was on vacation. However Pleasant Hill Animal clinic...knowing I was not a current customer..contacted their field vet..( on a holiday weekend) and told me it was iffy..but if possible he would try to fit me into the already busy day. This pet Donkey was dying. It was so sad..then a call came in that the vet could fit the visit. He saved her life. I have no words other than THANK YOU to the receptionist and to the Doctor..I was frantic, I was desperate and you helped a stranger.

We have been trying to transition our veterinary care to Pleasant Hill Animal Clinic for about a…read moreyear. Dr. Kent has been knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely committed to managing our bulldog's ongoing health condition. Unfortunately, the clinic's policies and customer service have made it increasingly difficult to continue care there. Their prescription policy recently changed, and they now charge a $10 fee for every prescription filled through any mail‑order or online pharmacy. Because our bulldog refuses the chewable version they carry in‑office, we've had no choice but to use outside pharmacies and pay this fee each time. When we expressed our concerns about the added cost, we were unexpectedly placed on a "no longer serviceable" list. The front desk informed us they could no longer speak with us, and as a result, we are unable to get our bulldog's prescriptions filled or transferred -- leaving him without his life‑sustaining medication. Communication with the front desk has been an ongoing issue. Phone calls often go unanswered, we are frequently placed on hold for long periods, and when we request a callback, it rarely happens. This is not the first time we've had problems with the administrative staff. Previously, they insisted on obtaining a social security number before allowing an appointment, and when we questioned that requirement, the office manager responded rudely. While we understand that policies are policies, the way concerns are handled matters. Overall, the customer service we've experienced has been consistently disappointing, despite the quality of care Dr. Kent provides.
