I like the fact Stevan himself came to my family's home and did a good job estimating the project at no coast. We worked together and met as a price. He drew up the contract, I signed it and gave him half of the money up front. The project date was set and I felt optimistic hiring them to do the work. The morning the work was to begin, I waited for Steven's crews. At 9:00 AM an eighteen wheel pulls up to my house and unloads the material in my yard. This was on a Thursday. At 10:30AM, Stevan's crews had not arrived. I called the project Forman and he was very apologetic saying they had cancel the project for Thursday the day before due to the possibility of bad weather. He apologized due to not contacting me regarding them canceling. I was furious. I had canceled work for that day to be there for the roof replacement. I called Stevan and requested we cancel the contract. At this point I didn't feel optimistic about this contractor. I let Stevan talk me into moving forward on the contract and we set a date for the following Monday with the promise that he would personally supervise the project. I told him I was flying to New York and I wouldn't be there on Monday. He assured me he would take pictures and I would be happy with their work. Monday---the day of the project. The workers showed up and went to work. The Forman called me and I tried talking to him but there was a huge language barrier. Stevan sent pictures to my wife and she forwarded them to me. They did a good job but not a professional job. Their quality control is terrible. I hired them to replace the roof, some decking, a lot of the facia boards, drip edge, a section of soffit, and two new boots and turbine, as well as flashing where needed. They finished the job in one day. The roof is now new. They replaced the turbine-new. They did not install the two new boots. The flashing they installed looks terrible and there's areas that need flashing that got over looked. The facia boards will have to be replaced do to poor installation and poor quality control. There's areas of the drip edge that will need adjusting due to being flared upward. This project consist of a hip roof and two sections of flat roof. The flat roof was to get a commercial grade rolled roof. The hip roof was to get shingles. My wife and I spoke with Stevan regarding the color-match of the two. Stevan assures is the colors would match. Well, they don't. Not even close. I am still in New York and have yet to see the roof in person. I spoke with Stevan regarding the above issues and he became offensive saying he felt as if I were "attacking him", and he mentioned they had done extra work and didn't request payment for the extras. Completely unprofessional. I explained to him that I have a right to expect a job well done, and making excuses is not professional. I also reminded him the terms of the contract in respect to additional work: he would contact me and we would come to an agreement. Stevan has assured me that he will have someone at my house next Monday to fix the above problems. He did however say the electrical riser will not get the promised (in the contract) boot due to his worker not feeling safe with the installation, despite the pre-contract talk with Stevan assuring me there would not be any problem with the installation. He even went as far as to explain how the install it. Again, I will do a second part to this review after the corrections have been made. I may do an additional review after seeing the job in person. Hopefully it'll be a better review.

Tommy came out and inspected our home and put us at ease. Tommy did a thorough plan and is going end up saving us thousands!! If you are having foundation issues, save yourself some time and money out of the gate and call Thomas Engineering first! Tommy or a representative will come out and do a repair plan for you and then you can bid out the work based off their plan. I wish I would have done this from the start, would have saved me a lot of time, frustration and not to mention peace of mind and money in the long run. Don't just assume foundation companies know what they are talking about, they aren't Structural Engineers. We had hired TEC for foundation inspection for our house in 2023 and after recommendation from…read morefamily. Upon receiving the report we followed all the instructions particularly in dealing with Texas soil. Thomas himself did not do the inspection, and it was an employee of his who used Ziplevel altimeter readings and took pictures of the house and then gave it to Thomas who wrote the report. The report basically stated that no foundation repair needed to be done at the time and utilizing the report's recommendations should suffice. Needless to say almost 1.5 years later we had worsening cracks around the house, doors not shutting and eventually plumbing problems. We ended up calling 3 different foundation companies, who by the way, do inspection reports for FREE... and then compared them to find out that we had significant foundation repairs needed and that the foundation problems were many years in the making and not just from recent issues with soil, drought etc. Long story short, had I used the repair company first I may not have needed to have the issue and cost of plumbing repair in addition to the inevitable foundation work. Yes, foundation companies may come with biases, but if 3 different companies are giving you the same report and suggestions, then don't avoid the problem! Foundation repair is costly, but its more expensive the longer you wait, and in the DFW area it's almost inevitable. We were sold on the TEC report that it was a minor issue and paid the price. It was false hope, and putting trust because an individual is coming from an unbiased perspective may seem like a smart move, but there are always hidden agendas. My recommendation would be to get the free reports from multiple foundation companies along with free quotes if you are worried about your foundation/structural integrity and then make an educated decision. Had we done this, then we wouldn't have wasted several hundred dollars for a useless report and maybe saved some money on repairs along the way with earlier action.

Raise your hand everyone who had an overly aggressive salesperson who won't give you a price, or show any kind of pricing guide, and you almost have to call the police to get them out of your home? Not with Overhead Door of Fort Worth, there is a price for average sized doors on their site. So, you can at least guesstimate up front whether you can afford a door right now or not. And they will give you a free estimate. Dealing with Charles Ford, and Gary Tollett, Service Manager and the people at Overhead Door of Fort Worth was delightful. They know their business and have heard it all. We not only got a garage door, but a bunch of features we didn't even know were available in garage doors, like motion sensor light. The install was a delight. Our installer, Erisney and his partner, were friendly, polite and fast. Not only did they do a great job, but they totally cleaned up behind themselves. This is important because a screw in your tire can ruin your new garage door joy. I really can't recommend this company and their product enough. Now that our faith in mankind has been restored, we can start on the inside of the house.

This contractor chose to do business with Dallas Marble Stone. Our counter top was not done the way I wanted it done (no fault of Dallas Marble Stone) and I contacted Dallas Marble Stone directly after we had to fire our contractor for not completing the job he was hired to do even though he had been paid for it. Scott (owner or Dallas Marble Stone) and Joe both originally said they would do the right thing for me and pull the counter for a very fair price and re-work it. I found out later that my contractor has not paid for the counter even though we (the homeowners) paid our contractor in full. Both Scott and Joe have now gone back on their word and said that they will not do right by me because the contractor is stating we did not pay. My husband and I are honest hard working people who thought we had hired a good contractor to do so. I hate that Dallas Marble Stone will have to go after my contractor for the money, but there is no reputable company that would expect the homeowner to pay twice for the same product. The owner of this company (Scott) even went so far as hanging up on me when I was trying to explain our perdicament. Stating that they have been in business for 35 years and they don't care to make things right. I would not recommend this company to do work for anyone.
