Read on…read more The Wedding date was last fall, (September 14th, 2013) We did not voice our concerns to you out of respect to our daughters big day and there were several issues beyond our control. Our primary objective after the wedding, was to clean up your facility, leaving things better than they were found, and clear out of the area with no drama. We succeeded. I still cannot believe WE were wiping down and putting chairs up on tables after the wedding and reception. Friday night for the Setup and Rehearsal, the sound system was not working. The headset was not working, you could not figure out how to plug it in, and we were unable to do a run-thru with all members of our wedding party in attendance, as requested. This was a total waste of everyone's time. You promised again that it would be working, and all power-washing and cleaning would be done overnight. This seemed a lot at last minute... This proved to be the tip of the iceberg. The day of the wedding, we were there for setup at the appointed time, noon. You showed up about 4pm, an hour prior to the wedding. We asked for help to turn lights on. There was alot of scrambling going on before the wedding, and yet... NO headset was working for the Vows. This was discovered after the ceremony began. There was NOT a hand held microphone available outside, and YOU were nowhere to be seen. (The microphone was INSIDE the venue, set up for the Reception afterward.) We have over 100 witnesses to this fact. Not a single person could hear the vows over the drone of noise from the freeway traffic, which you had advertised we would not hear the noise, since day one and we explained the highway noise was a concern from the beginning. *We have recorded audio of your promises, should anyone care to review. I do not know where you come up with a guest count of 137 people. However, when we were being sold the package for the venue, we were told there were two packages,100 and 200. You told us that over 150 guests, we'd be charged for the 200 package. We updated you the week of the wedding, that we anticipated about 110-115 guests, which you did not state there would be an extra charge. Upon our second meeting and paying additional money on Aug 11, we then learned that CHAIRS were not included in the package for 100, and were an additional $3.25 for each chair which was obscene! The chairs you provided, were not allowed to be used outside, and of that you were quite adamant. Again, we chose not to add drama to the situation, so the mother of the Groom offered to provide the folding chairs she'd rented for the after party at their home. We then delivered and set these up, as well as removed them after the wedding. All of this for 1/3 the price you quoted us. I cannot believe an Event facility does not own their own chairs. Communication. I can honestly say, as of this date, I have YET to call any of the phone numbers that you gave to us, or I found on my own, that were answered. I left repeated messages, and other family members even called, and repeatedly, our calls were unanswered, or ignored. One phone call was finally returned after 2 weeks. This also including the second meeting, when you showed up 45 minutes late to our appointment, and did not answer or return repeated calls. This was another clue that we were not dealing with a professional organization. Repeated excuses. (The first clue was receiving the initial Proposal in the name of Brittany H***, and then addressing the Mother of the Groom as the Brides mom, then stating... you were confused because usually the "Grooms family pays for the Wedding" ... huh? on what planet...?) The invoice #9142013 is a complete and total fabrication. This was dated May, 2013. We were never presented any portion of this invoice. We never signed a document agreeing to this, or any part of this. I have scanned my copies of the confusing "Proposal/Contract" dated June 14, that you scribbled on, with various notes, and prices in different pens. This was our third clue that this business is run very poorly. NO printer or copier on site, and no contracts or paperwork to make official documents. At this point, we were a little over 30 days from the Event date, and felt we had no other choice than to trust you would do the right thing. You can have all of the best intentions, facilities, advertising in the world, but the management speaks for itself. I now know that the lack of information out there on the web, Facebook pages, etc. should have clued us into the fact that the business is suffering, and you would do anything to bring in business.

I've never had the worst time at any Holiday inn since I've been a member since 2017. Check in was very difficult on purpose by clerk named Shelby. She constantly tried to ruin and discourage me. She said there was a problem with the card terminal she stalled and act as if she didn't know what to do. I felt sorry for her because she's very pregnant, (her words). With every issue I explained she had to ask her manager, nothing was handled promptly even when I said can you just move us to another room, she had to call her manager, and her manager said that they were fully booked for Thanksgiving, but I arrived on Tuesday and there were not that many people here in a suite. She could've easily moved us to a different room, although we were the only ones here on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. This is the most disrespected place I have ever been to, extremely non-accommodating for anything you want or need and it's filthy. I will not be coming back. She took advantage of us because she knows it's Thanksgiving and all the decent hotels were booked nearby. I've always been a premium a diamond or a silver member and I've never been mis-treated like this before, don't come to this place beware this is your warning along with the other reviews. I am still leaving out a lot of other details that is incorrect and wrong with this suite and with a service that I received please read between the lines and find another place to lay your head.. Maybe Waxahachie be better that's where I'm going next time.

It's an older property but rooms are good size, in room electronics are fine and you get some small appliances as well: microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker (never use). Bathroom is decent sized. There is also a free breakfast that has solid choices for most dietary options. It's about as good as it gets - until Marriott finishes the Fairfield currently under construction.
