When we first walked to the door we were met by a Chemult local (gun on his hip, army fatigues the whole 9) who was exiting with his to go food order. He said " Ya'll came to the right place " as held the door. Lol we were half excited half half let's gtfo of here. Well- it's Covid 19 time and masked up here we go. Turns out one of the Tastey burgers I've had in a long long time ..if not the best , friendly staff and we decided to try a milkshake ...mmmmhmm - Everything was fairly priced, good proportions . Just a Small trucker no bs cafe. It's worth the stop. read more

Stopped by almost as a last resort before my sister hangry came out and was definitely not disappointed. Not only did they let us sit down for a meal but they had great burgers. It is a cozy little spot that offers both breakfast and lunch options. Would definitely recommend! read more

Not fancy but good home cooked meals. Hamburgers are great and the macaroni salad is perfect.

I've eaten there a couple times now, and it's good food served by a kinda wise ass guy who actually makes the meal a little better! Just enough sarcasm and snark to fit a rather odd town that mostly caters to those passing through! I've eaten a teriyaki chicken sando and a burger, and they hit the spot......If there still happens to be a chipmunk running around near the downstairs restrooms, say hi for me! read more

Didn't have breakfast all day like we'd hoped, but the food was fresh, hot, and tasty. Was able to make easy adjustments to a sandwich to remove bread and add on some veggies from their BYO burger. The bathrooms in this place were really nice. Building certainly doesn't look like anything special, but we are very glad we stopped! read more

Best bacon I've had in my life, get it if you can. The waiters are nice and fun to talk to. The place itself is also a eye-catching experience of small town America. Great place for a quick bite, highly recommend over the neighboring Subway. read more

We stopped there last Sunday after leaving a vacation in Bend. We should've eaten in Bend before we left. This place was a huge disappointment after reading the reviews. There is a sign on the side that says under new ownership so maybe that's why our experience did not even come close to matching the Yelp reviews. First thing that hit me when I got out of the car was the grease smell. It was not appealing. The entrance and the front door were filthy. Yuck! There were 3 or 4 employees (owners?) sitting at the counter watching TV and no customers. We were seated right away. The employees were pretty friendly. While we were there two customers ordered take out and four other ladies came in and sat together. The food; what can I say? It was pretty bad. I ordered a BLT on sourdough with macaroni salad instead of fries because of the grease smell. The server warned me that the salad had jalapeno in it. No problem, I love jalapenos. However, when it arrived I couldn't taste any. The salad was bland. The BLT was awful considering that there appeared to be at least 4 employees in the place and they couldn't even put together a simple sandwich that showed any care. The lettuce was actually black (black!!) around the edges. Only one side of the sandwich had mayo, about a quarter teaspoon. The sourdough bread was the cheap kind with little to no sourdough taste. My husband had a patty melt with under cooked fries. The only good thing about the food was that it was pretty quick and not overpriced. Finally, the place is dirty, especially the dark dingy basement area where the ancient bathrooms are. Everything about it was old and gross. Those employees that spent all their time watching TV while we were there should be put to work cleaning the place! Needless to say we won't be back. Plus, I really have to question the value of Yelp reviews because this one had pretty good reviews. Maybe they are all friends of the owners? read more

Best restaurant in Chemult! Had a nice, homespun breakfast before heading out to Crater Lake two days in a row. Friendly staff, hot coffee, and food that doesn't reinvent the wheel but doesn't need to. read more

We stayed in town and ordered breakfast sandwiches to go, with a side of hash browns. Was so happy to finally get a wonderful breakfast. The English muffins are soft and toasted and buttered perfectly. There was a good portion of egg and the ham was delicious. We loved the hash browns, which were the shredded kind, but clearly hand cut. This was hands down the best breakfast sandwich that I've ever had in a lonnnng time. Wow! Service was friendly and welcoming. Do not pass this little cafe up for breakfast! We will be going back on our drive home! read more

My family stayed at Dawson's Lodge and walked across the street to this cafe. Very friendly I'm guessing owner/waiter came and served us. The food came out fast. I got my veggie hash, hubby got a veggie omelet, pancakes were good and my older kids said the country fried steak was pretty good. We'll come back here again the next time we're passing through our stay at Dawson's! read more

Kj's Cafe - Cute lil breakfast bar and booths for 4 or 6. - Cafes Near Me - Chemult, Oregon

Probably the worst breakfast we've had in a long time. The staff ranged from completely uninterested to just plain gruff and rude. None of them seemed happy to be there and appeared to just be going through the motions. Omelet ended up being more of a bad scramble. Cute little town but there must be better options for breakfast. read more

They were very friendly and recommended that we come back and try their waffle fries next time! The restaurant was also very very clean! This is a good stop! read more

Rude owner - food standard. When will restaurants realise that customers really are doing you a favour by choosing to eat at your establishment. It's not my fault you are short staffed - but if you are open then I can reasonably assume you will be able to provide me with some food - with grace. I won't be back . read more

Good Breakfast. Only open for breakfast and lunch. We visited KJ's Cafe recently for breakfast on our way through town. Formally called Wagon Wheel Cafe, and you'll see the wagon wheel sign on top of the building, but it's had new owners and a new name since 2015. What we liked: Good menu, lots of options. Fast, friendly service. Food was good and plenty of it. The coffee was okay, and refilled several times while we ate. Nice stop. read more

My husband and I were traveling to Crater Lake from Portland and stopped here for lunch. What a great find. My husband was craving for a simple old fashion burger. They offer just that. He had a regular burger with fries and drink, which was fab. I wanted an extra flare and ordered Cheese Burger in Paradise. It had gooey cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, Canadian bacon, and more. Yum. The best thing was the beef patty, though. It was juicy and flavorful. We saw a long line for Subway nearby. No offense to Subway, but people don't know what they are missing. Highly recommend KJ. read more

Delish clean nicely decorated quiet on a Saturday morning Nice option to pilots day old breakfast sandwiches

This was a great stop for coming out of the woods from camping. The burgers were fantastic. I got a burger with the 5 topping option! The fries were perfect too! Even with covid-19 going on... the service/seating/cleanliness was perfect! Thank you Kj's for having your doors open! read more

We were passing through Chemult on our way from the S.F.Bay Area to Bend, OR. Long drive and we were hungry. We did not see much in Chemult that was appealing as far as dining options were concerned. KJ's Café looked like the best option, so in we went. Good Choice! Service was excellent. Food was tasty. Prices reasonable. I love milkshakes, so I ordered one for the road. It, too, was a treat. If I pass through Chemult in the future, I hope it is at meal time. I would surely stop at KJ's Café again. read more

Stopped for hot chocolate to warm up from motorcycle ride. Super staff and friendly.

Food sucked. Service was terrible, very rude waitress and they have a dog in the kitchen. Now I know why there was hair in my breakfast.

Amazing food, and even better service. Excellent stop passing through. Amazing staff, friendly and fast.

This was our second time at KJ's cafe. The first time (a couple of years ago) we had great customer but the food was just ok. This time the food was great. We had cheeses burgers and the boys had the grilled cheese and chicken strips. Very tasty and not greasy at all. We'll definitely be back again next time we are padding through Chemult! read more

Wierd vibe but surprisingly good food. Well for what I ordered it was well cooked. I ordered the corned beef hash

I walked in the place to get breakfast in a good mood and left aggravated. The waitress asked me what I wanted before I even had a chance to look a the menu. She seemed perturbed I wasn't ready to order. After looking at the menu I decided on the corned beef hash. Then she was ignoring me. I waved her down and placed my order. When she brought my dish, something was missing, the hash. I was served hash browns with a few small pieces of corned beef mixed in. That's not corned beef hash in any stretch of the imagination. I would have been happier if they'd given me some hash out of a can, it would have actually been hash and not the crap they passed off to me. To top it off it gave me a stomach ache. I wouldn't ever set foot in there again and besides, I'll never pass through that shitty little town again either. read more

Great find along the drive. Stopped for breakfast and we were greeted by a Vietnam Vet who sat us, waited on us and entertained us. Food portions were huge. The biscuit was larger than a softball.
