I will say that medicine has changed a lot over the years where most of us don't get the same good care we used to 30 years ago. BUT at Dr ARFAI'S office in NR, the staff is exceptional as well as the doctor. We've had plenty of appointments for my 90 year-old mother over the last few months and he has done everything he possibly could to get her out of pain with success that would last a couple months or two. Finally, he recommended something called a spinal stimulator to minimize her pain that she's had for at least 40 years. Each staff member is so well trained in their various areas and know their craft well. Excellent training!!! They show respect and patience, especially for the elderly and when the staff is that well trained, you know it comes from the top. I highly recommend this Office for pain management and compassion. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because of the nice nurses who are working so hard and fast. However, the fact that the doctor packs the clients so tight, my appointment was at 9:45 am, and it's now 12:23 and the doctor is barely taking him in to get his shots for his pain. I love this man and his staff. They show great care from top to bottom. They diagnosed me when so many prior to him errored.

Anybody that writes a bad review for this man must be in a position where there is nothing he can possibly do for them. I have seen people do reports for doctors and give them a bad review because they weren't told what they wanted to hear. I went in in bad shape and the attention he paid to me and the way he took care of me was amazing. He went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. The office is immaculate. Sometimes when staff and medical offices are a little bit short there cutting to the chase and trying to take care of business to help. In the medical field sometimes there is no time for lollygagging. Staff did their job and doctor did an amazing job. Thank you Dr. ! read more

Ive been dealing with back pain stemming from significant trauma accrued throughout my 20 years of US Army service. I'm no Dr, but I'm I've been told by no less than 5 spinal pain management, Ortho and even a work comp Dr... all make a statement to the effect " this is a very large/the largest that I've even seen; if herniation is removed you will more than likely have scar tissue larger than most that causing significant pain"....blah blah blah. I take it all smile. Needless to say I've tried all but surgery to help with the pain but Dr Arfai is the man the myth and can cure my pain that I've been dealing with for the past 10 yrs with his treatments even though I've been treated by multiple Drs with no benefit, treatments like...Back education, Aquatic therapy, TENS, H~ Wave, sphys therapy, Chiro, Acupuncture, Lidocaine injections and 4 steroid injections again with negligible relief. So thanks to the physicians who over prescribed, the clowns who got arrested selling medication and or frauds as well as the DEA/Govt I am having to deal with debilitating pain that limits my day to day life/ADL w/ a terrible quality of life because of my wartime injuries w/ NO pain relief whatsoever!! You should actually have to manage pain to be a pain management doc/clinic, right? read more

He was a great dr for a short time. Too many offices too many PA's and terrible front end and billing dept. They are great with you as long as you allow them to run your insurance up. They dont schedule procedures in the time frame as your ins says then bill you for their mistakes. STAY AWAY!! Dr cant even properly take notes. BEWARE. read more

RUN RUN AWAY, FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR !!!! My ins approved for Second Opinion Consultation. I been waiting for that appointment for almost 3 weeks. No one made curtesy call day prior, so time came, I drove all over to Mission Hills, from Northridge, where I work. I came 15 min before apt time, and found that front door is closed (???), I called the main number, asked girl why their door is closed, she said they are seeing PT at Northridge office (?), I didn't even know they have another location, why no one told me that??? I was so mad, you have no idea... But I drove back to Northridge any way. Came to front desk, 3 girls looked like aliens, like their mind is somewhere else, I filled out papers, gave it back, I asked how a long should I wait, Girl responded: " Hmmmm.....there is 3-4 people waiting , I said: I dont care, I booked my apt at 3:45, they said: we`ll take you in asap. Another girl asked if I have any medical records with me .Excuse me?? Didn't you request my records prior ? She smiled to me: " I`m going to do it now " (???) I knew that was impossible to do...but what can you really do? I offered X-Rays on CD, it turned- they didn't have device to read CD (???) Saw Doctor Arfai in a bout 20 min, he asked what`s wrong with me, I told I cannot tell you in 2 words, he practically wasn't even looking at me.....Sz: ok we`ll request MRI & Spine Injections, told him I already did 3 Epidurals, he: "Really?" Well. if you would requested my records, you would known that ! Sz: " That's fine, we`ll do different injections... " What kind of Doctor are you??? How can you make recommendations if have no idea what`s with me? And why I wasted my time and came for second opinion, if you have nothing on me ??? Dr. Arfai has been life changing for me. I have ALS and had pain in my shoulders and arms that was so bad. I had seen other pain doctors, and they had prescribed medications like Norco (which did not do a thing). As soon as I saw Dr. Arfai, he suggested lidocaine shots. These shots have made such a difference, and I have no more pain. It is incredible, and his entire team is so warm and supportive. I love my monthly visits to Dr. Arfai. He is great! read more

Most unprofessional office I've been to. No one follows through- they didn't check my insurance like they said they would do two times in one week. So I'm sitting in the lobby the day of my appointment waiting an HOUR before the "office manager", Jessica even started looking into confirming my insurance was accepted in their facility. Every person that came in while I was there saw the dr while I sat there waiting for the manager to take a minute to look at my insurance. So ridiculous! I have work to get to but because no one does what they say they are going to I'm wasting much needed time waiting around in this freezing office. While I've been here for a while I'm listening to their conversations and not one answer given to a patient was consistent. They obviously don't know what they are talking about. If you only have one injury or mild pain Dr Arfai is Alright. I have 9 diagnosed problems in more areas of my spine. Lower Back, Pain, Mid back pain, Neck and Headaches.everyday. I was treated fine and functioned normally for over 2 years then He said He wants to cut my meds . and I lost 30 lbs in over a year I have no appetite and I Detox evry couple of weeks when the pharmacy runs out. Isaid I feel like I am going to die and they replied , You have to die sometime. He said He is not going to return it to the proper dose after he cut my meds. I Have never abused anything or anyone., but I feel I am being abused now. After 27 years of treated properly , He thinks he knows better than any doctor I had before. I showed Dr Arfai the CA. Law sayng He must treat intractable pain aggresivelly to function normally but he ignores it. He argues and won't let me talk and storms out. read more

I've only seen this doctor twice in one month due to a drug test, which is pretty standard in this kind of treatment. But he seems nice, attentive enough. I could tell my edical history may have rattled him a bit but he remained professional and even said that was a pleasure of meeting me. So as long as you have a legitimate reason for going and you pass your urine screens, this doctor will work with you and the therapy you need to find relief. Good job so far doc. EJ. read more

Best Doctor ever! Actually listens to his patients and doesn't just prescribe medication or his own agenda! He gives you the best options for you to deal with your pain and talks you through each option. Dr. Arfai is great at giving pain injections and you don't even feel the shot. The girls that manage the office are great, especially Jessica and Vivia who always make you feel welcome. Both girls are always nice, even when a patient argues with them they are never rude and always remain professional. I would recommend this place to anyone with serious back pain as Dr Arfai has helped my pain become manageable and allowed me to life a normal life again! Thank you Dr Arfai! read more
