The food is tasty here in this seasonal outpost, but be prepared to pay through the nose for what you get, most likely because it's a seasonal place.
A scone, although tasty, is €2.4. A lemon drizzle muffin and a slice of chocolate cake are €3.5 & €4.5 respectively but the prices aren't on display.
They do offer a 'free' tea or powdered instant coffee if you have already paid to visit the adjacent Famine Village, but I didn't know it was powdered instant coffee until I was told when placing the order.
This is tight fisted meanness. I don't see why they just can't offer a filter coffee or another real coffee choice at the price difference between tea and coffee.
It's a cosy place surrounded by a breathtaking, awesome scenic beauty and the staffer was friendly enough but at these equally breathtaking prices it's the least one can expect. read more
