Apparently trivia night is every first and third Monday every month. It really look like they was having a good time. They downstairs and upstairs were packed with people, however onto the food. We went and got the $.75 whole wings from Cuddy's. Ended up taking them to go due to how crowded it was inside when. Wings at Cuddy's were delicious, so crispy and so flavorful, cooked to perfection. We got the Cajun seasoning, which was very good. There were multiple options to choose from when it came to sauces and dry seasonings for the wings. Overall, the Lawrence Hall was beautiful beautifully put together. I love how opened it is, the multiple restaurants there's ice cream, a Sushi Spot, Tacos for taco Tuesday and also there's Cuddy's soul food. Also have a bar pretty nice size bar. We will be back again next Monday to enjoy the wonderful wings.

I got to check out Lawrence Hall the last time I was home for a visit. One of my favorite things…read moreabout my city is when old buildings like this former warehouse are brought back to life. A stunning job was done on the rehab of this warehouse from the late 1800s. The vibe feels like so much more than Pittsburgh and yet so very Pittsburgh. Super spacious with a funky & modern decor. Great food options to choose from like Cuddy's Soul Food, Toma, La Palapa and more. All great food that you order via QR code. You can play darts, shuffleboard, and pinball. There's a full bar with spirits, beer, mocktails, and cocktails. Great new(er) addition to Lawrenceville.

Stopped for a bite to eat around the lunchtime crowd and OMG what a surprise...usually I'm leery…read moreabout potato pancakes cause I've been spoiled growing up eating my dad's recipe but this was quite the surprise...ordered an appetizer of salmon lox with capers and thin sliced red onion with potato pancakes...only suggestion I have is to serve with 3 potato pancakes instead of to use up all the delicious lox...I usually can't finish any dish I order but had no problem with this one...Bloody Mary was bloody good and spicy also...hat's off!!!! Place was packed but the service was top notch...

Wait service was fast, drinks came and were good. Ordered our entrees and food showed up like 15 minutes later. While ordering a glass of wine, a family member told one of the waitresses that she didn't get her salad prior to her entree (then I realize I didn't either, fish dinner entree), the young red headed girl kinda shook her head and walked away. A few minutes later, the wine showed up, but no salads. Was the only bummer for the night. On a side note, the parking lot is gravel, a little tough to push a wheelchair, but not impossible. 5 stars except for salad mishap.

The focaccia was warmed, but definitely warmed way too long, it was like toast. Portion was also small. Not impressive, but not enough to leave a bad review over. Then came the pizza. It was literally so overcooked. The bottom was black. It tasted charred. Sometimes margarita pizza's crust is a little too cooked for me, but I expect that and just eat around it. This was entirely different, it was the whole thing, especially underneath! I don't know why they even sent it out, it felt borderline disrespectful to even serve this to someone. I don't know if it's because I paid the tab right away and left an 8% tip instead of a 20%? That felt appropriate given the way the service is here, it doesn't seem like 20% is necessary. Anyways, I'll post a photo of what we left behind. Went home to eat dinner instead. I did l eat the chunks of cheese off before I took the photo so ignore that part of the image. With how burnt this was I felt borderline offended that they'd even send this out.

A beautiful historic property with lots of space for gathering…read more We were hear over the weekend for a wedding and took advantage of the many spaces to gather on the lobby level, the pub and the grand ballroom on the 17th floor. Service was overall good at each venue. The lobby restaurant didnt open until 5pm. However the pub was able to accommodate our needs. The adjacent bakery and coffee shop was a nice venue to have. Rooms were of ample size for a historic city property

I had a wonderful stay here and would happily stay here again!…read moreStepping into this historic 110 year old hotel feels like a time capsule of opulence. I was immediately blown away with the foyer! At check in, there is fruit infused water to quench your thirst. Make sure you keep your room key in hand because you will need it to operate the elevator (once in, hold it against the black box until light turns green and quickly select your floor). The hallways were incredible! And still had their old charm! I even picked up the old fashioned telephone and it rings the front desk! You can use it shall you need something ... if for some reason you cannot enter your room, just pick up the black phone in the hallway and they will come to you (this didn't happen to me, but just a tip if it does). I stayed in room 1470 and absolutely love my view of the gothic architecture of the Union Trust. I looked out my window a million times! The size of my room was huge! I could have done cartwheels all over the place! The WiFi is complimentary for guests. There's cable TV. Maybe other options too but I didn't have my tv on much to know. The water pressure deserves its own special shout out! Holy moly it was heaven! And the brand of washes they had was nice! Usually the conditioner isn't good enough in hotels for my hair but this was just fine! And there's a good blow dryer on the back of the door (I still used my own because I have a lot of hair and it's long BUT had I forgotten it, their hair dryer would have been just fine at 1875 watts. There's a tag on your door that you can hang if you'd like to skip housekeeping for a day and the hotel will donate a meal for doing so .. check out the tag for more info! There's also cards you can put on your bed if you want your bedding changed. I was never bothered in my room by housekeeping. I was never bothered by noise. I never experienced a phony phantom call to my room. (All things I've experienced at other places). You will get a free drink at checkout you can get a beer at the tap room or a coffee at Mellon Square (on site). It is not good for the speakeasy ... and yes, it's a real speakeasy that existed in the 1920s you could access thru tunnels under the city! So cool! On checkout day, the event I attended was going to start early and finish after checkout time. Since I was up late the night before, the front desk said I was welcome to bring my bags down now for bellhop to hold, but they also put me for a late checkout at 1pm so I could come down late the next day too. So partway thru the event just before 1pm I brought down my bags and they held them for the next 90 mins I was there. I parked across the street at the Mellon square parking garage ... Apple GPS marks the garage in the wrong place FYI ... it marks it about a block away but it is directly across the street from the hotel, with the entrance to it being on the cross street. I paid $44 to park there from Thursday around 5pm to Sunday around 3pm. Not bad. They do have valet parking at the hotel too but that is $55 per day I believe. Leaving was sad. I would have liked more time to enjoy this place. I would love to come back sometime! I have nothing bad to say about this place. Wonderful staff and incredible hotel! Thank you for this amazing stay!
