This is no longer a mall. It was bought out by a foreign (Reno) real estate company who want to turn it into a weird Marxist utopia. The actual residents began to whisper about this. People were saying "Rhino" were monsters who would destroy Silverdale. What's happening now is the operating hours will be reduced and they can just suddenly close the mall and kick you out so the elites (these seem to be 20-29 in age range, not from here, and very fancy if the cars are any indication) can have special parties. These are creepy. I saw a "comedy show" in an abandoned restaurant where no one was laughing. Security accosted me and asked why I was trying to shop in a mall. They said the posted hours were wrong. They were pretty demeaning. What's sleazy is no one was told the mall was closing. Rhino repeatedly lied to residents. They only listened to these foreigners who spilled in to raid the area while living in those creepy ticky tacky apartments that all look just the same. These people will all say the same thing. They will say "Once, this mall was shoulder-to-shoulder people" like they are reading from a script an AI created. Their eyes glaze when they say this. They act strange. They look robotic. They wear these fancy "distressed" clothes that aren't from here. They don't look like they're from here. Everything is overpriced now. Taxes are through the roof. It's like a third-world county. Now, there's not even a mall and some residents are trapped. The mall was the landmark in Silverdale, so there is no Silverdale. It's just those viral, scary apartments. It's awful. We were told the mall would come back. I guess they lied. How you can improve: Stop the creepy entertainment and have a shopping mall. If you can't do that, tear it down and put in more gross, identical tenement apartments. read more

Toddler play area This review is mainly for the toddler play area. While it is great to have an indoor playplace for toddlers to play around. It's also been there for quite a few years. I even had my older child 10 years ago playing I'm the same space. There are ample structures to play on and it's mostly closed off with seating for the guardian(s). While attempting to get my toddler into playing I crawled around on the floor that smelled like sweaty feet and wet dog! You don't notice until you are on the floor but makes for an unpleasant space. read more

This mall was a bit of drive out from where we were staying. But we did not want to go to Tacoma mall and pay a toll fee so we drove north. My son enjoyed the play area and we just had to stop at every coin gumball machine. From what I've seen, all the stores seemed to have been open even though the mall was pretty dead on a Saturday. They had some stores that we don't have in Hawaii. I especially wanted to go here because of Kohl's. My family wanted to come here specifically for Dick's sporting goods. Even though we were constantly in a rush, I was able to pick up some things for my kids and I surprisingly walked out with nothing for myself. read more

Hmm. Hovering between two and three stars with this one. But in the end I think I will go with three as the mall seems to be doing an okay job with not having too many vacancies in it's corridors but there are a few. I recall a Sears was once here and closed. I was there for some clearance sales which I got some stuff I wanted and needed. They managed to get WinCo Foods grocery store to take the space which I was impressed to see because some malls can never get those large spaces filled again in this day and age of retail. The mall does a fair job having the basic mall staple stores but as many other reviewers have indicated this mall is small. Not the smallest I've ever been to but small so some of those staple stores simply aren't there. Probably the stores I liked best was the World Market and the Barnes and Noble. There is a Hot Topic here but selection isn't all that great compared to their other store locations or their online store. So all in all not missing much here but it is still a mall and still a decent place to kill some time. read more

It's a mall! Very typical of malls built in the 80s, one can find stores closing and others opening, a Santa picture op in the middle and a contest for a car that's parked in the mall. Stores aplenty, but it seems most people are simply walking through or window shopping. Stop by the Harry & David, or some other such booth for samples of meats and cheeses from girls donning Santa hats and holiday cheer. It's a warm place to be when the temperatures are dropping and I imagine a cool place to be when the locals can't handle the rising temperatures. read more

It's ok. There's not a huge selection, but it's close to where I live and it alright for an afternoon away from the house. It's got some decent places around it (within walking distance), such as a movie theater and some restaurants, but no park or anything. But the Barnes and Nobel is pretty great, so there's that. read more

A Mall in Kitsap, what is there to complain about ?!?! I don't understand some of these reviewers. This is anice mall. One over the only ones for the area. to go to a bigger one you have to go to Seattle or Tacoma. I visited twice in one weekend. Perhaps I got lucky because I went during a stormy weekend when most of the crowds chose to stay home, but I loved how peaceful it was!!! Much more calm than the Tacoma Mall. I loved the selection of stores. The main anchor stores are Macy's, Sears, JcPenny's, and Kohl's. They also have Barnes and Nobles, World Market Cost Plus, and H&M. Plus, a ton of places to grab a bite to eat or fun snack. I love the ease of parking. No matter which side of the mall I parked on, there was a pleasant feeling to the parking lot. I didn't feel rushed by on coming traffic or stressed that I couldn't cross the street safely. It was all very easy going. Inside is on the smaller scale. But I actually prefer that. Easy to walk around the entire mall without having to back track too far if you happened to park on the opposite side that you wanted to go. Play area for the kids, and couple of family sitting areas. Kiosks set up in the middle of walkways but no one hassles you to try their product. I tried the massage place, one hair salon, and a nail salon. All were great service. I definitely will be making this my new go-to for mall experience. Anything you can't find in here is very close by: Target, Toys-R-Us, and a ton of other shopping options. Silverdale makes it easy to come shop this side of Puget Sound! This is the only mall your find without having to cross a bridge. read more

Not sure what the rating criteria is for a small town mall but I think ours is okay. Just barely though! I grew up in a very small town that had a "mall" and it only had about 6 stores, including a grocery store, so I'm used to it! There was no food court, no "hang out" spots, no trains and no security zipping around on Segways! It was just a small town mall to shop at a few stores all at the same time. That's what we have here at the Kitsap Mall! It's a small town mall serving small town needs. Now granted, our town is growing so we may need more in the future but for now it seems to meet the needs of most of us. It's got the big name stores, sports stores, hip stores, ladies stores and childrens store. It's got live plants and some food choices and a play area and a train and security on Segways and entrances all over the place! And it's got JEWELRY!! A jewelry store on every corner! It's clean and well kept both inside and outside and it's starting to recognize the need to work with the community. All in all, I think we've got a pretty good thing going and it's an A-OK mall for the area it serves! read more

While this mall isn't huge, I actually really love the size of it. It's big enough that you can walk through the whole place without getting tired. It's probably the safest mall around where I live. I've had some bad experiences at the Auburn and Tacoma mall but everyone seems friendly here. There is a lot of variety and pretty much any store that isn't directly in the mall is within a close proximity to it. I'm surprised by some of the bad reviews, because to me, if I compare it to any of the other malls in the area, this seemed to be the cleanest and safest. As well as having a real community feel to it. I also really appreciate that there are small businesses at this mall. It's nice to be able to conveniently support local businesses when you go Christmas shopping. Also, we appreciated the decorations; it's festive and pretty but not overwhelmingly Christmas-y. Some shops are closed due to COVID, as expected, but there was still plenty to see. We were really glad to have the chance to go to a mall again and have that feeling of normalcy. read more

I've no idea why shopping malls creep me out but I don't enjoy them. Maybe it's the lack of graffiti and posted flyers, the utter lack of free speech events one expects of a town center, as these large enclosed pseudo-towns are private property and if they don't like who you are or what you do, no matter how innocuous or even beneficial, they kick you out. They have a published "code of conduct" which prohibits wearing a visible undershirt or having saggy trousers or other "gang" clothing, you know, stuff ordinary black or hispanic or hiphop kids are assumed to wear just cuz they're kids. So basically it's a rule that allows them to kick out minority kids. They even ban orderly groups! One of their rules is "groups of five or more" have to be "dispersed," which is not just unconstitutional, it's plain old anti-family. Mom and dad with three kids are considered shit! Though of course the rule is again really just to get rid of kids who'd otherwise gather. It's against community. These sorts of places are fascist and racist and ageist, and they even follow old ladies like me about cuz I got a leather jacket that says "Dyke" on the back so they think I'm there to rob them. Which they'd deserve but it's the guys in business suits who no one watches who're doing most of the shoplifting (I learned this from running a retail business that videoed the aisles. It's the people who CAN afford stuff and look well off who most believe they should have something for free!) Or maybe what puts me off is the abject uselessness of 99% of the clean but sad little shops many of which will not last long. Maybe it's the crowds swarming through long halls made the more crowded because floor space is taken up by kiosks featuring the crappiest crappy businesses. I used to stop into the mall for the second-rate health food store they once had, but that's long gone. All the junky stuff in the food court has its appeal but I wouldn't go there for that. Not a bad place for us so-called "plus size" (i.e., fat) ladies to find garments, as some of the clothing shops do well know that working class Kitsappers are fatties; and should probably take more advantage of that. The "anchor stores" are Macy's, Sears, and Lamonts, and I've gotten a couple kitchen appliances or some such from Sears, meaning it's been useful to me about once every four years. But Sears is not a good and reliable store with great service like it was thirty years ago. If you buy a flatscreen from them and it turns out to be defective, tough p'tooties. If you didn't pay an extra $70 for the insurance, you're likely screwed. So as anchor stores go, fairly miserable. That said, it's not worse than most malls, maybe even better than most; if you like that sort of environment, it's for you. Even I can find a few useful shops but I don't generally want to walk about in that giant container for hours on end, from one end to the other, searching and searching for the useful places. If I'm gonna walk until I'm ready to fall down unable to move another inch, I want to do that in a forest walking the dogs. read more

Went Christmas shopping. The employees were friendly and helpful. I found everything I needed, and Spencer's had the best stocking stuffers around!! Poor employees were so busy but still able to maintain a positive attitude. That is a win and a half in my book. read more

I can't believe no one else has said anything about this place so I'm just going to go right out and say it- This mall is a pathetic excuse for a place to shop. There I said it. I mean they have some staples to the NW such as the Bon (Macy's to you newbies but forever the Bon for me) Sears, and Kohl's and I think the only reason I come here is for Barne's and Nobles and Gap, but other than that I do most of my shopping in Seattle. I can NOT believe that it is the year 2010 and they still have not remodeled it to include FAMILY restrooms. Every other mall in the NW you will find that they have remodeled to accommodate families, but here, nope, nada! The bathrooms have literally not been remodeled i think since the early '90's unless you count the inclusion of the hand dryers. They recently moved the play area to the food court area which is great, but then again the restrooms in the food court- well let's just say my kids are NOT allowed to use them. I find it totally irresponsible for a mall to invest in couches and chairs, and segways for their security, but its too much to ask for them to upgrade their restrooms? Wow. read more

First I got horrible service at one of their food venues THEN that manager of business development came out and said I could not work at an insurance kiosk while wearing a baby. I'm self employed I don't need permission to have the baby with me. Then she told me it was part of the paperwork to be in the Mall spells it out but she refused to let me see such paperwork. Then I asked for her name AND her bosses name and all she gave me was her business card. Oh yeah she also took my picture. When I tried to take her pictures she turned around. * This is the worst review I will ever write on Yelp. This mall is horrible. I still have shopping nightmares from this place. I bet inmates at the local prison have better shopping facilities than this pos. We were stationed in Kitsap for a year and a half, and having to shop here locally only made me more miserable. The ONLY thing I like about this mall is the Barnes & Noble! I guess the Forever 21 isn't the worst, but that's the best store! Ehhh, NO designer clothes! Nothing but crap. I didn't even know malls like this were still standing! They did have a MAC counter, so there's some major points. City Council/City Planners: If you are listening, please tear this "mall" down and make efforts to contract with some developers to build a Nordstrom, or a Nordstrom Rack. Also, turn the Target into a SUPER Target. AND next to the Nordstrom, can you please build a small strip mall consisting of: a Barnes and Noble, a Cost Plus, a Jamba Juice, a Starbucks, an AMC (a real one!), and some more stylish stores to bring some color to city. This mall is not helping anything. It's only dragging down this city's development potential. People go to SEATTLE to shop, which is taking more money away from Kitsap! This used to be THE place to hang out.. many many years ago. Anybody from anywhere on the Kitsap Peninsula in their late 20's will know what I'm talking about. It's the only mall in the area, and I'm not too embarrassed to admit that we spent many a weekend night walking the thoroughfares and sitting at the food court checking out boys. Those were the days when we wished fervently for an A&F, Hollister and Nordstroms; when Macy's was still The Bon Marche and Khol's was Mervyn's. Well, now visiting 10 years later to pick up some last minute shopping while visiting my parents on the peninsula, I was pleasantly surprised to see no empty stores and a nice variety of shops! They still have the large department stores ( although still no Nordie's) and even a Barnes & Noble and Cost-plus. I wish those were there back in the day. Perhaps if I still lived out there, I might not think as highly of this mall, or if I was younger and this was my local watering hole, but I don't and it's not, and it was a perfectly fine spot to stop and pick up the random things I needed! read more

I like this mall, but I have ONE HUGE issue with this place. If you want to supply WIFI to your customers to keep them in the mall, you HAVE TO give them power outlets. As of now I go there if I need something last minute but as far as a large shopping trip or for a special event, I make the drive to Tacoma or SouthCenter. A mall is a mall is a mall by most accounts. Tonight wasn't the case. My little family and I were just walking through the mall enjoying being in public. An extremely courteous security guard, who for the life of me I did not catch his name, asked us how we were doing and if we needed help finding anything. I asked about a restaurant in the mall and he pointed us on our way. After deciding against the restaurant (it was getting late and we have a baby) we made our way out. He caught us on our way back and asked us if we found it. After we said we were on our way home due to the little one he said next time we're back to come find him and we could get suggestions for others. He was incredibly kind. He had a grey mustache. If the powers that be could pass this on to him that would be most wonderful. It's great to find people like that in the world that are nice to strangers simply because they can. read more

When I was younger I was a Mallrat. I spent whole days at the mall playing Dance Dance Revolution at the arcade and abusing the free refill system at the Chick-a-filla. I would browse the CDs at the FYI and make bets on how long it would take for people to buy ugly cloths from Hot Topic. Good thing people change. Like all people in this town though, I sometimes end up at the mall. It just happens. Usually because of Barnes & Nobel though. The mall it's self is very ho-hum. No arcade any more. Suncoast closed and Sam Goody closed so no more music stores. I sometimes stop in Hot Topic and look around at how far removed from pop culture I now am. The food court is disgusting to me now. There are some bright spots here though with the soon opening Hale's Brewhouse and the small coffee shop hidden in behind the workcloths store, however the amount of empty storefronts in this mall is a testament to the stalling power of the mall. read more

So I will say that at least this place has a lot of the big department stores: Macy's, Sears, JCPenney, and Kohl's. They also have a FEW other stores that you would expect to find in a mall: Barnes & Noble, Payless, and Spencer's. And that is basically it..... The place is slowly dying in my opinion. It is the only mall around for miles, which is why it hasn't completely shut down. It has none of the stores I typically shop at for clothes (e.g., Ann Taylor, Limited, etc.). Also, lots of the places are boarded up, which leaves me with an eerie feeling. The mall is supposed to be the place I can forget my troubles.....not the place that reminds me our economy is sinking. A slightly weird thing about this mall is that there are tons of jewelry stores (I counted 4, but I could be wrong). Maybe that is what is keeping this place afloat? I think the high reviews for this mall must be coming from people who are either fine shopping at the big department stores or haven't been to a good mall in a long time. Since moving to Port Orchard a few months ago, we frequent the mall about once a week. The Barnes and Noble is a nice touch and my almost two-year old son enjoys the kiddie play area. Generally a pretty laid back place, especially in the morning/early afternoon. Pretty decent selection of stores. The food court has a few places that seem to offer similar options, which is a downside. The kiddie play area often gets crowded, especially around lunch and on Saturdays. When it's mostly younger children (1, 2 and 3 year olds) its okay when crowded, but it's often full of 4-8 year olds who run through it (even though the sign says no running) and little kids get stepped on, knocked over or can't go down the small slide b/c bigger kids are jumping on it). But really, that happens everywhere. For a free, indoor place for your young child to play, try between 10 and 11 a.m. on a weekday or just after lunch. read more

I love this mall. When you first arrive parking is relatively easy to find and it's layout is perfect for efficiency and speed. Because I always have my infant in tow this is important to me. I love the layout of the mall. It's one long strip. There are no confusing corridors. The mall is one level so it's very easy to navigate. I'll always remember one of my first trips to this mall where my husband and I stopped to look at the mall directory. We noted some clothing shops that we might want to check out, the food court, and typical symbols that indicated restrooms. Then I saw one symbol that made me burst out laughing, an octopus! What in the world was an octopus doing in a mall? We followed the mall to the symbol and discovered it was a sea themed kid play area. I thought that was very cute. The play area is so fun! Even when it's packed with kids the parents/caregivers are polite and attentive. People are very friendly and respectful here. Definitely check it out if you have small children. The shops in this mall are a mix of big corporations and smaller charming shops. The food court is small but offers a wide variety! The entire mall is kept extremely clean. If you see a custodian make sure you thank them for their hard work! read more

The children's SCREAM area, needs to have a soundproof wall built around it. No, this is not a day care center, nor a playground. Shell shocked parents sit there for hours and for lack of imagination and let their kids fill that entire end of the mall with non-stop screaming. No, never eating at the "food court" down there. I don't like screaming. I LOVE the level of security at this mall. It feels safe and secure and punks are not allowed to come in and take over and frighten the senior citizens who are there to spend time and money. The security staff are excellent, polite and friendly. It could use some musical performers or other live performers as a reason to get more crowds into the mall. read more
