Prior to two days with Hunter, I spent 8 years toying with kiteboarding in CA. I'm a decent athlete and surf all the time but with kiteboarding, I learned the hard way that you need instructions. Each summer was frustrating and my progression within the sport barely improved. I was at a level in which I could self-launch, downwind ride only (but mainly out-of-control) and somewhat turn but with no purpose or defined direction...basically a risk to myself, other riders and any marine life unlucky enough to get in my way. After two days with Hunter, I thrououghly learned and praciticed the safety mechanics of the gear, became confident and skilled with down & upwind riding, confidently course corrected and tacked without any "water-dips" and even worked on a few boosts (no tricks yet - next time Hunter!) Get a lesson or two and you'll actually enjoy the sport.

After ground school, we took the jet ski safely off shore where we learned to fly the kite (exhilarating and challenging!). We spotted White Ibis, Blue Heron, Royal Tern, Osprey, Blue Crab and even a ray. We paddled through narrow channels in the mangroves, spending about three hours enjoying the sights of the St Joseph Sound.and Caladesi Islsnd. Luis is a fantastic guide and naturalist, and even if you already paddle, his instruction is really helpful. This trip is a must do! We will definitely do this again when we return.

This is a truly amazing business!…read more The value, the quality of instruction, the accessibility. I could go on and on with reasons as to why I am such a fan. My sisters and I went in together to get a group windsurfing lesson for the dudes in our life. For just $110 each our group of 4 boys were able to spend a little over 3 hours with private instruction from a pair of genuinely just super cool people. Not to mention talented. They seriously made it look so easy. Every single one of them was able to get up on the board and actually sail! I was so impressed by how much they were able to learn so quickly. For 4 people they had 2 boards that they took turns on. Which meant each of them had plenty of time for practice and fun. They also got valuable Q+A time with the instructors. I loved getting to watch my husband learn this new skill! So grateful this company made it so easy to treat him to a fun a prize. If you're an onlooker, it's not the most ~glam~ area to relax in, but watching is possible! If you can bring a chair, a cooler, and a good book, I'd highly recommend it. Something to note is that finding the "launch spot" is a leeeeeetle tricky! You'll definitely want to look it up on a map before going, and having a good navigator with you might help too.
