Rude customer service. They will take the time to leave snarky responses to online reviews, but not respond to email or voicemail.

The Pebble Bed & Breakfast - Elizabeth and Michelle

The Pebble: no other B&B holds a candle to this lovely establishment…read more We absolutely loved our stay and would come back again and again without hesitation. Everything was clean and well appointed. Maid service each day. Elizabeth and her husband (he was away for work while we were there) and their daughter Lizzy (college student) were an absolute delight. Elizabeth has been in the B&B service industry for a while, and she knows how to delight and serve her customers. Elizabeth is gracious like a family member and we feel like we gained a wonderful new friend in her and Lizzy. Ask Elizabeth to tell you about the romantic story about how she named The Pebble! We miss the Pebble already, and you will not regret staying here! Location: Perfectly situated in an affluent and highly desirable location, just far enough away from the city center, Dal University, the lake and all major highways. Price: Perfectly matched for this lovely and well-appointed B&B. You will find much cheaper, but they are not even in the same league as The Pebble. We found the price rightly valued and much more that we asked for. Kids: We have a 3 years old and Elizabeth accommodated us with a small mattress which we put on the floor; this was perfect! The room is very spacious which allowed all three of us to have ample room to do our own thing. Breakfast: This was included in our stay. Elizabeth is seriously a gourmet chef and our breakfasts were so decadent each morning--we felt so taken care of.

The setting on side street in a quiet neighborhood made for a relaxing stay at the property and the location was perfect for getting to and from the city center and other nearby sites. Our hosts were friendly, helpful, and attentive to our needs. The friendly banter around the breakfast table with other guests and our hosts was lively and enjoyable. The accommodation was excellent as were the wonderful breakfasts. If Halifax is included in future travel plans we will stay at the Pebble again.

Brent & Wendy Lee were fantastic. So warm and inviting and eager to help us with dinner suggestions, tourist recommendations, and anything we could dream of to make us more comfortable. Their home is a beautiful gem and our room was large, comfortable, beautifully decorated (most of the artwork on display was painted by the two of them!) and the yard and gardens were spectacular. We appreciated being in the suburbs down a quiet lane and a little closer to the Halifax airport, it made our next day just that much easier and more relaxed. Breakfast was gourmet level. No expense was spared, no detail overlooked. Sugar cubes for tea? Sure but also rock candy swizzle sticks if you preferred! Beautiful garnishes on each plate. We had "Atlantic breakfast" tea, fresh fruit served with a dollop of yogurt and a hint of honey drizzle and chopped nuts, a cheddar chive biscuit with eggs and hollandaise sauce with a side of ham. Every bite was perfect. The only thing was slightly odd was the ensuite bathroom had a curtain instead of a door. It was very elegant, but didn't offer much privacy between the bedroom and bathroom. The giant whirlpool tub more than made up for that though, talk about WOW factor.

It is near nice places to eat, near the airport, and very easy to get to and from. On top of all of that, the place was absolutely beautiful, inside and out. We were very well taken care of. If we could have taken this B&B with us as we traveled around Nova Scotia, we would have. A must stay if you are in the area.

While the location is beautiful and the staff were wonderful, this isn't our favourite winery in the province. We did a tasting which was awkwardly presented in shot glasses which we found quite tacky. Nothing in the tasting really stood out and we didn't end up buying a bottle of anything because the tastings are set. You can't really choose off the menu because not everything is available to try. We came for the annual Christmas in Petite, so it was quite busy and many wines weren't available which was a bummer. It would have been nice to select our own options to sample as there is a cost, so not sure we'll make the trip down from the Valley unless it's another annual event. The terrace is really lovely but the furniture could use some updating. Some cute bistro sets would be nice instead of overly bulky chairs and benches that are tough to move. Service was great and friendly so no complaints there. Overall, still worth visiting for location and the scenery, but as wine drinkers, this is pretty low on our list of faves simply because there wasn't much to try that we were interested in.

The grapes are all from the local area vineyards. Pretty nice product for a young wine making region. Also they make some very nice ciders, both dry, sweet and fruit added styles. So on your next visit, stop in, and on weekends they have a local food cart using local beef, pork and have vegan offering too! The food is great also! Enjoy your visit!
