Overall, Ivan did a very poor job, very unresponsive and very expensive. I wanted to hire a…read morelicensed contractor, instead of a handyman, for some sense of assurance and comfort because the work requires permits and involves foundation, plumbing and electricity. I thought contractor would "do it right!". The contract was written that he obtains the necessary permits and guarantees work for 10 years. Halfway through I found out that he did not get the necessary permissions. He is not responsive during or after completing the job. He didn't supervise work for best possible outcome. Instead, he hires cheap labor and leaves job to the workers who were grumpy when inquired about the work. He always loses receipts. He and his worker tried to scam me by overcharging me for the cabinets. Initially we were going to the store on a Saturday. However, they booked the cabinets without me one day before and wanted me to pay cash only through them because the purchase was through their contact at a special price. However, they didn't want to share the payment receipts. Later I found that they were over charging me by $600-700. I had to make them cancel their order and place my own order. I had to try very hard for 10 days to get them to account for about $3000 that I paid cash; he didn't cooperate easily. Charged me disproportionately high amount for a small kitchen renovation and replacing bathtub with a prefabricated stall shower. I had to take time off from work and make multiple trips several times to the local hardware stores and pay out of pocket for the "rough" items that they signed up to buy. Never supervised the work. He left it to worker who misbehaved sometimes and were not paying attention to installation instructions and the product documentation. Sometimes they threw away assembly materials and accessories provided with the product. I purchased one small additional cabinet the day after they "completed the job" because I don't have much storage. They refused to install the cabinet. Microwave over the kitchen range was installed to recirculate exhaust back into the kitchen instead of out. I had to pay someone else to install cabinets and install microwave correctly. The exhaust was recycling back into kitchen although air vent chimney available. Called the worker and the contractor numerous times. But they did not want to fix or care to respond. The worker ludicrously suggested the microwave I purchased does not vent outside without even bothering to take a look. If I had gotten this work by a handyman, it would have costed me a lot less and better quality of work. The worker who worked on patching the foundation wall did not fill the ditch he dug. I had to fill it myself the best I could. I would not recommend hiring him!

After reading reviews on the Willow Glen e-List recommendation page, and checking yelp, I decided to call Pride Painting based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I met with them to do the quote and they were thorough. They quote came in and it was right in line with what I was willing to pay. So, I hired them. They seemed like good people and I felt like they were really paying attention to what I wanted. They patiently waited for me to try and match one color for days, and were helpful in selecting a new paint when we didn't get an exact match. Overall, they did an amazing job and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who needs painting done. They were patient, reliable and did high quality work. Also, I have curved ceilings in the family room and dining room. When we bought the house they were the same color as the walls. So, the next painter did the same. Jose and Lou suggested I paint them white, like normal rooms. So, I tried it and WOW - what a difference. It has made a huge improvement in the look and feel of the room. The daughter told me a different story that all the tubs from that brand are made to order and take 3-4 weeks! That it's set to ship on 3/13. I don't appreciate being lied to and having a 2 week delay on my remodel! We are a family if 4 down to one bathroom.

I had no idea what I was doing or what I wanted but Gianna was so patient and so kind. She helped me select and order everything for my two bathrooms and kitchen. She was clear and very communicative about when I could expect my items to be ready for pick-up (an extra challenge with the global supply chain issues). When we hit a snag on just one (of the many) bathroom items I ordered, she and Tom jumped through hoops to accommodate me and fix the problem.
