I was hesitant on hiring this company and Hiram because of how I found him .... Facebook Marketplace. We corresponded via messenger and then phone. Hiram met me at my home that was under renovations that very same day. After the design and quote, which was a bit over $6,000 (sink and door handles were included), we took a chance. 1/2 deposit right away, 1/4 at completion of cabinet installation and 1/4 at counter top installation. The agreed date and time of the installation was 5/1/19 @ 9am. When they didn't arrive, I was extremely nervous thinking I'd been scammed-called Hiram multiple times with him reassuring me that they would be there. The installers did arrive at noon and Hiram's son arrived about 15 minutes later in a van loaded with the cabinet boxes. The installer, Gonzalo, was fantastic! Very helpful when I had questions and took the time to answer. They were in my home until 10:30pm finishing it up. Needless to say, I was very pleased with everything. The counter guy came a couple of days later to take the template for the quartz and he had the counters completed and installed within 4 days. The kitchen looked great! The only other thing I'd asked for was touch up pens for any scratches.
However, we had two small problems - 1) When we connected the sink faucet and turned the water on, a large spray of water came from behind the top cabinet. Apparently, when installing it, Gonzalo hit the water line that was running in the wall from the sink to the refrigerator. 2) When I was taping off the cabinet to paint (using painters tape), some of the paint/covering on the side of the cabinet came off. I called Hiram immediately and he had Gonzalo there in 2 days to remove the cabinet so we could fix the leak and install to panel doors to the sides of the cabinets where it had peeled. No problem. Once the leak was fixed, it took about a week to have a different installer, Larry, to come and reinstall the cabinet and crown molding. He was supposed to be at the house at about 11am and didn't make it until almost 9pm. Frustrating as can be, especially when you're waiting. He rehung the cabinet, however, Larry DID NOT caulk where needed nor did he reinstall the crown molding. After looking at the cabinet, I saw that Larry screwed it in place using other holes and leaving the previous ones used open and unsightly. I called Hiram and told him what was not completed and that I still didn't have the touch up pens. I also asked him to give me a quote on more panel doors to finish the cabinets and the island, as it looked very nice and gave it a completely finished look. I received his estimate on 6/11. The next day I texted him and told him to proceed - he did not respond. On 6/14, I texted him again and he answered saying that Luis, another installer, would come to the house on Tuesday, 6/18 and install the panel doors and bring the touch up pen and hole covers. I was told to expect him at about 11:30. On Tuesday, I texted Hiram just to confirm that Luis was still coming and he said yes. By 12:15, Luis had not arrived and I texted Hiram to find out what time he left ..... I still haven't heard from him. It has been over a week and still NOTHING!
I recommended Kitchen cabinet Liquidators to a friend and had even told Hiram that I will use him again on a guest house that we have that will need new cabinets soon. That will not be happening now.
Although I was pleased with the initial installation, the "little things" that I was waiting for didn't happen. I'm very disappointed in the fact that Hiram has refused to call me back. Bad communication. read more
