Came across this spot on Tik Tok & decided to give it a try after the China Ranch visit. We were STARVING. Plenty of parking outside. Cute little restaurant located next to the Death Valley Brewery. We tried the Margarita Pizza & The Turkey Club. Both were delicious! Customer service was super friendly. This place definitely hit the spot. I saw the Kit Fox Cafe on Yelp. Since I'm in Tecopa once or twice a year, I decided to give it a try. We went right past it. In Shoshone, I asked someone where it was. Had he just told me go to where the cutoff is to Shoshone, I would have known. But, the only way he could describe where it was to tell me go past the resort in Tecopa We finally found it. It's near the post office in some old buldings in Tecopa. There was one little sign outside and that's why I decided to check that area. As described by others, it is a very small place. There are 5 or 6 tables--if you move the four tops into the two each you'd have more. The room is small. You order at the register and the woman brings the food to your table. I ordered a turkey club and my friend ordered a bowl of mushroom soup and a quiche. I also ordered a gingerbread iced latte. The food was brought quickly. The club sandwich was not your standard club but it had a good amount of turkey and cheese and was a very good sandwich. Forgive my photo. I cut the sandwich and was getting ready to eat it before I thought to take a photo. I tried some of my friend's mushroom soup--delicious!!! The woman forgot my latte, but when I got her attention later, she immediately got it and apologized for not remembering the order. This is a place where I'd stop again. Tecopa is a small town that you go through and be on your way before you know it. It's worth the stop if you're going to Death Valley or back. read more

It's amazing what can come out of the kitchen of a tiny, remote little cafe just like the Kit Fox Cafe. We absolutely loved our food on a recent visit and are looking forward to visiting again. The pizza was incredible and rivaled any we've had in the big city where we live, and the cream of mushroom soup was next level. The food is very good, however the specific dishes that contain nuts should be noted on the menu. We ordered a Caesar salad which typically would not contain nuts. My husband has a nut allergy only when he consumes a dish with nuts (does not have an issue with cross contamination). After he ate the Caesar salad he had the worst reaction he's ever had. When I messaged the restaurant about it instead of asking if he was ok or offering anything kind to say the owner said "yes we have nuts in our restaurant and there are signs that say we use nuts." That really wasn't what I was asking-and I'm sure not ever menu item contains nuts so why not post what actually is made with nuts on the menu? We would never think to ask if a Caesar salad contains nuts since we've eaten 100 Caesar salads and never had an issue. read more

this place is so wonderful I really don't wanna tell people about it he's making woodfired pizza that is delicious I like the white pizza garlic with the spinach and I add mushrooms it is a vegetarian option the supreme pizza and their red sauce is absolutely delicious the best pizza I've ever had. We recently spent Thanksgiving there and had the most delicious beautiful blessed Thanksgiving meal and harvest beer the micro brews here are divine.. he brews the most beautiful ginger beer I've ever had. He makes the best root beer sometimes with alcohol they have the percentage of the alcohol content and all of his micro brews listed and he made a habanero peach cider that is bomb there's not much more of that left this place is great. it's a little over an hour and 15 outside of Vegas headed to the California border you can order food in the café and they'll bring it to the bar there's plenty of seating a pool table the ambiance rocks he's got a crystal skull collection and some other fun things. Wonderful Place. Me and my husband were in death valley for the long weekend. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. We are vegetarians and I loved the fact that the cafe had so many vegan/ vegetarian options. We ordered a soba noodle salad, a slice of cheese pizza, 2 bagels with cream cheese and 2 garlic and spinach calazones. The food was very fresh and yum! The bagels were the tastiest I've ever eaten. The calazones were actually skull shaped. I could see so much thought and creativity in everything I ate. We were so happy with our breakfast that we came back for dinner on the same day! There wasn't a lot left as we went when it was almost closing time but the chef was extremely kind to serve us fresh tomato soup, soba noodle salad and a calazone which I devoured. We stopped here for lunch on a weekday while driving to Death Valley National Park. Kit Fox was the only restaurant around that wasn't fast food, so we really had no other option but to stop here. The cafe is small, with some outdoor seating and some indoor seating. I think the cafe is very unique in its decor and charming in this way. It's run by a husband and wife duo who we saw there on the day; the husband was at the back making pizzas in the oven, and the wife was at the cash register taking orders and delivering them when they were ready. My husband and brother got one pizza each, one vegetarian, and one supreme with meat. I wanted something lighter, so I ordered the avocado toast. To be honest, this was the strangest avocado toast that I've ever had. The mashed avocado was served on a piece of focaccia bread and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. I can't say it was bad, but wouldn't say it was good either. My brother and husband both enjoyed their pizzas. Neither of them finished their full pizza so we took them to-go. read more

This place is the ultimate small business -- run by a couple who bust their azzes 6 days a week, all day from 7am to 8pm. That's the entire staff -- 2 people! And not only do they bake all their own cookies and pastries, they also have a wood-fired pizza oven and make excellent thin-crust pizzas to order. BUT WAIT, there's more -- they even serve sumptuous holiday meals! The Thanksgiving dinner in particular is top-notch: full plate with turkey and ALL the trimmings, plus pie, for $25. Best deal in the west! I've been two Thanksgivings in a row, and I'll probably be back again in 2024. If you're in the area, this place is definitely worth a stop. What a gem to run across on our trip through this area. I tried a few offerings that day: sausage/pepper calzone, meatball/ricotta calzone, a bacon and a sausage breakfast burrito (with side of green chili), pumpkin banana loaf, orange/almond tea cake, a Milky Way, and an iced pistachio latte. Everything was delicious, my most particular favorite was the meatball/ricotta calzone, it was divine. Don't worry, I didn't eat it all in one sitting. The cafe is run by a lovely couple who was very attentive and accommodating. We spent a little bit of time talking about the local area, they have been pretty much everywhere locally and can make some awesome recommendations on places to visit. They have a welcoming atmosphere with lovely photography from all around the area. Kit Fox Cafe is a little oasis to rest and eat in the middle of the desert. The food and service were excellent and we ate both breakfast and dinner there. The Mojave desert is a special place on the planet and I have been going there for years with a long recent absence. It was great to have a new experience. THE best cafe'! John and Courtney have done an amazing job establishing themselves as the best little eatery in Tecopa! The food is hand made to order and absolutely scrumptious! The pastries and cookies are to die for! We worked and lived in Tecopa at Delights Hot Springs for a winter and would frequent the Kit Fox Cafe' for breakfast and lunch every chance we got. We have missed the area but now that the management of the Hot Springs has changed (Good riddance to the mouth-breather Westley and Cuntney McNeal and their crack-head, coke-snorting restaurant manager Jennifer!!!) we'll be sure to come back around for visits more often. :-D read more

Everything about this place is 5 stars!! You can tell when the owners really care about providing quality foods/drinks to their customers. The decor is very nice as well. They did a great job decorating the place. It feels very homey and the photography on display is very cool to look at while you're eating or enjoying a coffee. I am on the keto diet and rarely eat bread but heard such good things about their pizza that I had to have a cheat meal to try it for myself. WOW. The wood fired master crafted pizza is TOP NOTCH!!!
