This is my go-to spot for manis and pedis…read more For one, there's no fume cloud of nail polish and acetone that assault your nostrils as soon as you enter. The owners of Karma built their business on the novel idea of creating a space that was safe for pregnant women, children, and those sensitive to allergies by using polishes and removers that didn't have traditional salon chemicals. To be fair, I have no idea what makes up their nail polishes, but I appreciate how it always smells like faint lavender instead of polishes whenever I come. Appointments are highly recommended, and I've never had to wait long before I was seen. I've now visited a fair number of times and noticed that the quality of the job really depends on who's doing it. One woman is painstaking and focused, creating beautifully shaped nails. Another woman seemed to work fast, which made for one irregularly shaped nail and polish that didn't quite make it to the nail bed. But the service is always friendly, and the vibes are always calm and quiet. On my first visit, I was given a discount card for a return visit, which was a nice touch. You won't find the fancy frills like massage chairs and jacuzzi tubs for pedicures, but a basic mani pedi service is $55, which I deem fair, especially considering I never have to endure a post-spa headache from breathing in fumes.. Finding parking can be a beast of a job in this area. It's paid street parking only (through the ParkMobile app), and spots can be limited depending on the time of day because of how many businesses are in the area. You might have to circle a few times, but I've since learned to include at least a five to ten minute time cushion when booking appointments just to look for parking.

I made my appointment for 11, and when I walked in she was ready to do my nails right away! The place was very big and clean and didn't feel like I was on top of everyone. I had Ann do my nails. She was very attentive to detail and made sure that there was no polish On my finger. She was really nice and gentle especially with my cuticles. I work hard as a Chef and Beekeeper, and my nails go through all types of hell. So, wherever I get…read moremy nails done, they have to really come through for me. That being said, 4 U Nails & Spa in Cresskill NJ is a winner. The place is surgical clean and orderly. You never see a speck of anything, they are rabid about cleanliness. I get my gel mani done once a month and when I say it lasts -- if my nails didn't grow as quickly as they do (I think menopause sped them up lol) I could go even longer. But at 4 weeks, the grow-in is obvious and I don't like the way they look. I don't get them done because they are wrecked, I get them done monthly to change up the color and be pampered a bit. Funny story: last Saturday I was getting my gel mani and looked down the line and saw every client had picked some shade of pink. I had earlier switched my choice from a gorgeous turquoise to an OPI pink. We all laughed that it was the last mani of Summer. Come Fall, the colors are killer: deep metallic wines, sapphires, jades, the mattes are also stunning. Now I think I will go every 3 weeks, just to try all the colors. The technicians are friendly, but don't expect deep conversations; some aren't conversant in English, but all are stunningly polite. Two TVs are usually showing food network or animal planet, which is just fine. I leave my phone in my purse and just enjoy some quiet time. Pedis also last a long time, and the leg massages are wonderful; I just don't get them as often as my mani; maybe I should. Not the bottom of the pricing chain. The gel mani runs $35, and I tip 20%. But, you get what you pay for. And 4 U Nails delivers every time. Call and book an appointment.

It's a nice nail salon, very COVID safe. But 20 Dollars to…read moresoak off acrylics is a little ridiculous in my opinion. I had gone in to get dip powder with tips over a month ago. And the owner Kelly had set me up with an appointment, checked my temperature. I had gotten a pedi and dip powder with tips, and to soak off my acrylics, which all together was 110 dollars and sitting in the salon for 5 hours for dip and powder is crazy . I understand times are tough, but 20 dollars for soaking off acrylics was a little pricey, after a week my nails chipped and wanted to get them re done, I was told by the nail technician it would last 3-4 weeks, but only a week later and they are cracking? Plus being told it's a "new product" they are doing, shouldn't you all be giving discounts if it's "new technique"? I tried making an appointment a day before thanksgiving and was told I couldn't get in. So I went back to my OG spot. Like I say, COVID safe with procedures, clean, but only 2 people working.. they get 3 stars for the cleanliness, but the dip and the pedicure and the prices were mediocre. Just to be clear I don't even want to give it a star but I have to in order to write a review!!!!…read more Again, the man at the counter was rude and unprofessional. Just read the review from June 9th--it describes the same behavior I experienced. I paid $10 extra for a cat-eye design, and the photo clearly shows that it does not look like a cat eye. When I went back and politely explained that this wasn't what I had asked for, instead of apologizing or trying to make it right, he became defensive and told me I would have to pay even more for a polish change. What is most disappointing is that he continues to respond to customers by arguing and making excuses instead of taking responsibility when the salon fails to provide the service that was requested. A professional response would have been a simple apology, a refund of the $10 charged for the cat-eye design, and an offer to correct the mistake without charging me again. Good customer service means listening to your customers, acknowledging when something wasn't done correctly, and making it right. Instead, I was met with a defensive, rude attitude and told to pay more to fix the salon's mistake. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this salon.
