The scoop was big and we got two spoons to share. I was really surprised by the texture - it's so smooth and delicious! I get the hype now. It was still too cold for me (lol) but I liked the very fresh mango flavor. I'm curious about some of the other non-fruit flavors, and they also serve frozen custard. You can get a cup with half Italian ice and half custard, which sounds interesting. I did some searching after this experience and found out there is a Rita's in Grand Rapids now, so I may have to check it out.

The girl taking my order had such a scowl on her face when I walked up to place my order, I had to ask if they closed at 9 because I thought maybe she was mad we came last minute. It turns out she told me they closed at 10. My husband goes up to ask for a sample and he hadn't seen her face yet, he asked her if everything was ok because she seemed off. She was such a crabby Patty, we almost left. The young man giving the samples was polite and quiet. I don't know if they got into a fight or what we walked into but it was terrible customer service. The girl had such a bad vibe. We ended up buying a gelati anyway but it was probably the worst one I've had. The coconut and pina colada flavor Italian ice was hard and crunchy, the strawberry lemonade was watery. The flavors all being very bland. I'm not sure what went wrong today but scooping Italian ice and ringing an order up isn't rocket science. There's someone out there that would love to have a low stress job and interact with the public. I think hiring young people with poor customer communication will kill your business.
